playing Pokemon games on Systems?

    i kind of remember having something that let me play gameboy games on my Nintendo64 and i use to play my Pokemon Yellow on the TV thru the system. maybe it was with stadium i just dont remember.

    anyway, im not to familiar with gaming and systems. just curious if there has been any other things like this. is there anyway to play LG/FR/E on Gamebcube persay? or maybe D/P/P SS/HG on Wii?
     
    I believe there is a way for R/S/E/FR/LG, but not D/P/Pt. I'm not sure how though! Sorry!
     
    This thing. I sometimes play Pokemon on my Wii with a homebrew emulator as well, but it doesn't feel quite right to me.
     
    Maybe Nintendo just hasn't created a game/cartridge to play D/P/Pt/HG/SS/B/W on the Wii yet. I'm sure it'll come around.

    Operating a touch screen interface via the Wiimote would be cumbersome, for starters. Then there's the problem that Wiimote + Nunchuck doesn't facilitate enough buttons to mirror a DS.

    It would also look pretty bad, because of the Wii's low resolution and having to display two screens on top of each other. It'd be something like this:

    You'd end up with more blank space on screen than actual game.
     
    That "blank space" could just be filled with a border like it did with the super gameboy or gameboy player. As for the buttons there are enough. On the Wiimote you hav A, B, 1, 2, +, -. On the nunchuck you have Z, and C.
     
    The Super Gameboy borders didn't fill more of the screen than the game itself. Even with the + and - buttons. that's a really weird control scheme setup no matter how you try and map each button and probably wouldn't be very fun to use.

    At it stands the concept is unlikely, especially as it'd probably have to be another hardware-based emulation system like the SGB and GB player were. I can't see a great way to attach a big thing like that to the Wii and still make it look nice, and I'm wondering about what the cost of such a system would be.
     
    IIRC, Pokemon Box (the Pokemon storage utility) for GameCube let you play R/S on the TV, but oddly enough, not E/FR/LG.

    As of yet there is no way to play DS games through a console.
     
    Well, this question would fit better the simple Q&A threads in the respective generation boards, but, since it's already answered just fine, I'll just close it.
