Hi this is my first post so bear with me. This may have been done before but I'm goona do it anyway. I was thinking that a thread for plug in's would be a good idea. Things like curt's regional starter kit that include all the files necessary to plug new features right in to your games without messing up work already in your game.

    Things reccomended:
*Plugin's should have all graphic files as well as script's and script's supplied should note that if user overwrites there script with a new one that they will lose any mod's to said script. These need to be able to plug right in to ANY pokemon essentials game without messing with any part of work someone has allready done unless noted.

    1. New battle systems and battle related things.
    2. New Pokemon Battler Graphics (Two Frame or more if the scripting is included to run more frames)
    3. Regional kits like curt's but with Hoenn and Sinnoh complete or supped up with HG SS D/P/PL

Use your imagination and thanks for any help you provide. Give all credit due.
    THANKS!

not a bad idea,i may give input some time

Thanks. I know people are going to say this takes all the work out of it but that's not the point. Picolli's starter kit could be the same situation but it was a template for users to make it there own. That's what I want. Like battle systems that cant be tweeked to be custom to each persons game but as a base be able to plug right in to someones game. Curt's regional starter kit provided maps and tilesets for all the maps of kanto johto and part of hoenn but they used fire red leaf green tiles which by most standards are useless, but the maps were not because it was a base for you to use your own tiles and make them better.

    Just adding some more suggestions.
    * New menus (include all scripting and graphics, remember, it must plug in to any file given the scripting doesn't interfer.)
    * Battle menus
    *Pokedex's
    *Pokegear's
    * And a following script that is simple and actually works!
*And Functional menu's and grahics for the dual screen script by CNG

So basically you just want other people to do all the work for you and make every system you'd like in your game just because you can't be bothered to learn how do do some fair amount of scripting yourself? Sounds to me like you're just using the community to do your dirty job. I don't think that's going to pull through, especially since no input will be made from you. If you have requests there is a sticky for that, just don't try to disguise your requests with something that should seem "friendly". Dunno about that...you're just asking for way too much.

Besides, the only way to assure yourself that you'll have these systems is by making them yourself. You can't have amazing systems, and everything custom if you don't know a bi of scripting. You CAN learn how to do it. I did it, people like Poccil, Wichu and such, they did it. Now the only thing in question is your willpower to do so. I seriously doubt that you'll be able to extract that much from anywhere. I mean Essentials is already more than enough, it gives you everything. If you'd want a different battle system, you don't have to make a new one, just edit Poccil's, add new controls and images and thats it. Same goes for everything else. If you can't be bothered to at least try to do the hard things and put in some effort to make all this you desire from us, I don't see why you deserve the input from us.

And, there is an even bigger problem. If all the greatest systems were given to the public, every gamw would have it, and pretty much look alike. Competition would become dull, and there would be no skills required for game dev anymore, as everything would have been dome for you. What's the point in that? Where is the fun in that? I think the thing that keeps developers going is competition: having the newest and best systems, trying to have the best fangame, and ho would we achieve this if everyone had the same "custom" systems? Heck, they wouldn't even be custom anymore. If a fangame has something great, special, and unique, why should they give it to everyone as a plugin. The game would loose it all, and then if it's not special anymore...who'd play it?

Use the kit, learn from it and try different things out. All you need to do are adjustments, nothing more, and thats the best part of it all: getting an idea, figuring out how to achieve it and then getting to it. If you've taken that out of game dev, then what else is there to look for?

Ok Luka. I don't want plugins that can't be customized to each game. You wernt telling people to "figure it out" when you released the Animated Pokemon tutorial. Besides, I don't have a "team" and don't want one. I'll make the game myself and it will be as good as anybody elses. This is for everybody not just me and I will be suppling to the thread, I have a Kanto Starter kit with HG/SS/D/P tiles and every single Pokemon's battler graphics first and second frame that I will be suppling shortly. You know I actually liked you when I joined this site, and blue chrome is great but your kinda rude. All you had do do was be polite and ask me to clerify what I was trying to do here.

It may be just me, but I'm still not feeling the "benefits" you would like to give to others. What you just said is that you can provide us with things we already have. Spriters-resource has all the pokemon sprites (all frames), and Wichu resized and Indexed them so they can be instantly used. As you said, Kurt already made all the maps of all the regions, so that contribution is pointless. And just check Deviantart for any desired tiles. You see the point I'm trying to get at. Again we will be doing the hard work for you, while you give us not much. And am I really the one that feels like you're using this community?

If you want help, be direct and say, I want this and this can anyone make it? Or I'd like a team please help (like most people around here). It just annoys me that you're trying to disguise your requests with something "friendly". Besides spoon feeding you everything won't do you any good. If people just keep doing the work for you, you will still be stuck in the same position - not knowing much. It's best if you improve your skills, by doing the work yourself, otherwise you learn absolutely nothing. Take it from me. I've started game dev in December 2008. Not knowing anything. I wasn't familiar with RMXP, and I didn't know to script, do any graphics or anything else at all. But using the kit and RMXP brought me here where I am today. I gained all my skills and knowledge only by using the kit.

If you still need help, go ask in the stickies for it. Try to find a team. Because the "I'm all alone" excuse is a lame one. I've been working on Blue Chrome alone for most of it's time, so that doesn't work. Anyways, I have nothing against you, I just have a problem with this approach. Be direct and honest if you want something, don't try to cover it up.

Anyways, that is the way I see it. You might not like it, others might not like it and I don't care. I'm not assulting anyone here, I'm just trying to give a word of advice. If this forum was swarming with Plug-ins, Game Dev would loose its whole purpose and there would be no more originality. From what I see is that you're just trying to make your life easier, which is fine. But when looking at the bigger picture, it might save you a few minutes, but in the end will do you no good.

I agree with Luka. Games should be unique, and even if the plug-ins will be customizable, it doesn't hide the fact that they're all the same. And Game Dev is about hard work, and actually looking for stuff. This would take the fun out of game making.

You know what f*ck it. It was a bad idea. It's too damn hard to make a game by yourself as it is. Esspecially when your ten years old, like myself, and trying to make one by myself. Sorry to start world war 3 here. Anyway, Luka, where do I find the framed indexed sprites of wichus? This sh*t takes forever.

What are you talking about? Making games is pretty easy. (especially with the starter kit)

I find making games alone easier- no need to wait on people.

Seeing a 10 yr/o crying on a forum really puts into prespective of how old i am.... Dam you pokemon... and your dam kiddiness.

If you're ten you shouldn't be cursing/censor bypassing for one thing. Two, if it's too hard and you blame your age, stop, come back 3-4 years later when you're more mature and try again. Also, you basically just admitted you didn't wanna everyone to work together so everyone can have plug ins, you just really wanted them for yourself as you were incapable of completing the basic tasks required to make a sub-par/average Pokemon game.

You know what, forget it. Your all quick to judge, but I'm gonna release my game in about a year ( I'll be 11) and it will be better than anything any of you or your "teams" of people doing your work for you can imagine. Bet a fortune on it! I may be ten but what were you doing when you were ten? Since you want to talk about "mature".

When I was ten I was spamming the internets leik u, when I was 11 I realized what a dumbass I was.

AKA, when your 11 you'll realized your being an obnoxious brat.

Hahaha I'm a guy and this whole thread is cute. XD
The reason why no one really shares their exceptional features is because of the work and effort they put into it. If all fangames had the same features it wouldn't be very entertaining. That being said I'm sure some fangame players out there may not want to bother with all of these features.

Quit wasting time and just get it done yourself. Ask a few questions, maybe for pointers, but in the end either you'll have to be really good at something and earn the respect and trust of great scripters who are willing to script something for you, or you're going to have to learn it yourself. Luka learned it in 2 years. Since you're ten and doing things that teenagers do, why not get one step ahead and learn it yourself? That, my friend, seems like the logical thing to do.

LOL 99% of the fan games here are pretty much that, just new tilests plugged into the essentials

    That's where you're wrong.
There are many games that have potential and aren't just new tilesets plugged in Essentials.

Potential: that all they got... I only seen a handful that does not fit into that description
