PMD: Exploration and Corruption of the New Frontier (IC)(PG-13)

He managed to leapt out from his rolled up form, just in time to turn around and get a face full of fire, causing him to yelp and fall back on his rump. "Ow...' he grumbled, shaking his head. "That's it! No time like the present..."

And so he widened his stance, grit his teeth, let the fire fill his belly, opened his mouth...and once again released a plume of smog that filled the little battlefield up right quick, gagging and choking himself.

Felicia landed right as the smog filled the battle field. She went to the ground coughing and gagging as well because of the smog her six tails fanning and failing at keeping the smog away from her. I would call out for Flare but I wouldn't be able to hear his response she thought coughing more.

"She know's swords dance... hmm... Idea idea..." Leight thought to himself. He had a tactic for moves such as this but power wasn't necessarily something he was interested in. With snatch, Leigh had the ability to copy such boosts, but only if he timed it correctly. As Leigh secretly prepared Snatch, He attempted to taunt the speedy Sneasel into using agility or a similar move again. "Come and get me slowpoke." He said as he floated away from Alaska.

"Come and get me slowpoke," Leigh said as he floated away from Alaska. Alaska tilted her head and ran speedily towards him. Where is he going? He has something up his sleeve... She quietly laughed at the phrase. She realized that if she kept following him, he might use Rollout again, so she used agility. Right into his plan. Alaska was completely oblivious of this, but the agility increased her speed even more. Depending on how Leigh moved next, she would try to attack with an aerial ace. She ran in swift circles around him, taunting back.

OOC: Maybe a little confident there, but just a mental note, Layne isn't the all out brag guy, just saying, but yeah, confidence is needed for him at the moment lol
IC
As they walked into the area of the springs, Layne stopped for a minute. He didn't know if Chunk was starting to feel it too, but the.....it seemed like the whole.....environment had changed.

"Careful out here." Chunk said.
Layne, who was trying to get a feel for the area simply nodded, and said, "Yeah..."

He took a few more steps, and the air started to.....just feel weird. They were getting near the corruption zone all right. Layne's goggles, would repel the obvious effects, but he had no idea if Chunk even had something to protect him against this.

Layne stepped back, onto more solid ground. "I wouldn't go in there..." For one, the area was obviously corrupt. They were near the spring....wherever that was. And two, Layne, though he had protection against the aura, and presumably so did Chunk, no one ever told him how powerful it was. He didn't know if it was just for minor exposure, or whatnot. Layne wasn't about to go try it's strength by taking an a morning swim in the Spring. Not at all.

They walked on, and Layne stopped again. The grass was no longer green, and the trees, all looked like they had been burned, only they weren't burned. Layne knelt down, and touched the grass. It had dried up, and was fragile, and broke easily when Layne touched it. A strange wind blew in the air, and dead leaves that littered the trees bottoms swirled in a whirlwind.

"It's as if the land is dying..." Layne said loud enough for Chunk to hear. "I don't like this, but if we're near the spring, we're near the guild."

It was then when he heard it...an aweful hissing sound. Layne slowly stood up. Three corrupt Ariados were making their way down from the trees, eyes locked on the small group.

Layne at one point in his life had had a rather nasty encounter with Ariados silk before. The stuff was strong, and if corruption made the pokemon stronger as some of the other pokemon claimed, he didn't want to know if the silk was the same stuff, or even stronger.

Layne gave a rather slight chuckle, and asked, "Think we should have waited at the camp?"

"Gotcha." Leigh said, glad that Alaska fell for his trap. Leigh emmited a strong aura of psychic energy around him self and dashed right past Alaska, while also stealing the speed boost that agility just gave her. This large boost of speed that Alaska had just received was now his. "Thanks." He said to her while preparing to use rollout once more, This time, spinning even faster then before. Leigh rolled towards Alaska extremely quickly.

(I've never seen Snatch used in the anime or anything so I don't know how it would have physically been used, but thats just a wild guess of mine :p)

Alaska ran from the Rollout, but not as fast as before. Since Rollout was used once before, it would be a lot more powerful this time. Alaska's stolen speed and attack boost were powerful ones, and it definitely showed in Leigh's attack. He rolled at a very high speed, effortlessly crashing into Alaska. She flew through the air and struck a tree. Her low defenses mocked her. She tried to sit up, but fell back with her eyes turned to swirls.

Leigh stopped rolling and noticed the Alaska had been sent flying into a tree. "Heh... Um... May have overdid it..." He thought to himself. Concerned if she was alright, Leigh floated towards the downed Sneasel. Perhaps he did try a bit too hard. That powerful attack might have knocked her out cold. Leigh floated above Alaska's face and looked down to her. "Heh... You alright? Sorry about that dirty trick of mine" He said laughing slightly. "Soooo... does this mean I win?" He said nervously to her.

Alaska blinked after a few moments. "Hell, it does..." She got up. "You're very good! I'm honored to have met you," she said, smiling. "Good battle."

Leigh blushed a bit. "Yes... It was a good battle. Your quite fast yourself." He complimented to her. "I usually don't get into battles like these very much. Good challenge for me..." Concerned about Alaska and how baddly she may have been hurt, Leigh used recover on her to heal her as best as he could. "I usually don't use recover in matches like these. It would be rather unfair." Leigh mentioned as he finished healing her. Leigh floated onto the ground and against the tree Alaska crashed into. "Heh... If you weren't a dark type I'd have ended this alot earlier with psycho shock..." He bragged.

Alaska felt a lot better after being healed. Leigh sat against the tree Alaska crashed into. "Heh... If you weren't a dark type I'd have ended this alot earlier with psycho shock..." He bragged. Alaska smiled. "I bet so!" She sat down. "I'm glad it didn't end early, because using agility really pumps me up!" She said joyfully and started bouncing up and down. Hopefully I can improve my speed a lot more. An image of her being beat up by a Caterpie came to her mind. She shrugged it off. Now I'm just being paranoid.

What a spectacular battle it had been. He turned to his side, but didn't find anyone standing beside him. Apparently, the leader had buzzed off. "Anyone up for seconds? I feel pumped from watching you two battle. I need to work it off." Now was Xell's chance to see how useful he would be in sanitizing the corrupt Pokemon. Would he defeat them with ease, like his father? Or fail to make a mark? These thoughts flew around his head like Alaska flew around the green gelatin. He shook it off, and looked around for approval.

Leigh smiled. He couldn't help but respect Alaska for her extremely cheerful attitude. "I feel ya, That boost of speed felt pretty good while it lasted for me. I stole it and all but you know..." Leigh said as he sat beside her. While sitting on the ground he felt to puny compared to her and the other pokemon who were likely still battling. He was still very young as well. He may have been the second youngest next to Felicia for all he knew. "Hey um, Sorry for making a bad first impression back at the camp when you picked me up and all. I hate when people do that... treating me like a child, even though I'm actually 14 in reality."

He heard Xell in the distance request for a battle as well. "Hmm, In a moment. just need some rest first." He Replied.

(I'm also going to be heading to bed soon as well. I can do a battle scene with ya tomorrow though :3)

"Hey um, Sorry for making a bad first impression back at the camp when you picked me up and all. I hate when people do that... treating me like a child, even though I'm actually 14 in reality," Leigh said. Alaska smiled at him. "Don't worry, it was my fault for doing that. People unfairly treat you like a child, while I actually act like a child," she said. "Anyone up for seconds? I feel pumped from watching you two battle. I need to work it off," said Xell. "Hmm, In a moment. just need some rest first," replied Leigh. Alaska looked at Xell and accepted with no more thought. "I want to! More speed bursts!" she said.

((OOC: Lots of battles... :D))

Xell turned to his teammate. "Sure!" Xell blasted himself to the far end of the tiny battle field, already covered in battle marks from the blob's Rollout, and various scratch marks.

"Heh... Still not tired after that last battle eh? Good luck but, Don't overdo it." He advised Alaska. Leigh then skimmed over to check the battle Felicia and Flare were having. Unfortunately, the scene was completely covered in Smog. "Hmm... Nice trick..." Leigh thought, not knowing the true nature of where the smog actually came from. Both Xell and Alaska went into their positions as Leigh spectated. As he spectated the battle, Leigh used recover on himself to heal his own wounds, if he had any from the last match.

"Heh... Still not tired after that last battle eh? Good luck but, Don't overdo it," said Leigh. Alaska nodded and stood on the opposite end of the field. "You can get the first move," Alaska told Xell.

"That may be something you regret..." Xell was deliberately ominous in stating this. Xell rotated upside-down and burrowed into the ground. He hoped, that by doing this, he would trick the Sneasel into thinking he was going to use Dig. In fact, Xell wasn't using Dig at all. Xell began to rotate, causing tremors in the ground that wouldn't upset anything or cause any damage. The soil rubbed against his hide, causing it to shine and give off a certain luster.

Suddenly, without warning, he burst out of the ground, not bothering to attack Alaska. When he emerged, his hide Polished in the sun. He felt lighter, more free. It was hard to describe. He landed, and cooly stated, "Your move."

((OOC: Rock Polish. Your move. I CAN FEEL THE EPICNESS.))

Alaska looked around uncertainly, expecting Xell to pop up near her. He suddenly emerged from the ground, his body shining in the sunlight. "Your move," said Xell. This might turn out to be a speed game. Alaska ran nimbly to him and used brick break.

Xell knew that he couldn't beat the agile and fast Sneasel without any enhancements. This is why Xell polished his body. Perhaps he was quick enough to outspeed the Sneasel? That would be a first. All of the sudden, a Brick Break hit him square in the chest, putting a tiny crack in his shell.

He fell to the ground, but sprung up, despite the injury. Xell wasn't going to be taken down that easily. His body still glimmered, and he sprung forward with surprising speed and aerodynamics, going for an abrupt Iron Head.
