PMD: Exploration and Corruption of the New Frontier (IC)(PG-13)

"Hello, I'm Xell. Nice to meet you," the Pupitar said in response as Alaska put her hand down. "Don't be embarrassed, you're making a better impression on me then our leader. You may have seen him already. He's a Scyther by the name of Zeke." Alaska blinked and then smiled. "Oh yeah, I saw him! Feisty fellow he is…" She looked for a paper with the team name. "Don't worry about it. We're Team Hunter." Xell ejected an Apple from a part of his body unseen, and nudged it toward Alaska."Here's an Apple, but keep it away from Zeke. He's kind of wild." Xell sighed. Alaska took the apple. "Thank you!" She bit into it. "So this Zeke guy… he's our leader… I hope he can take better control of himself than he has done so far." Alaska looked up from the apple and saw Xell squinting at something. She looked in the same direction and saw a bunch of Scyther dancing around. One darted over and gestured for Xell and Alaska to go to the tent. It darted away and Xell rolled his eyes. He turned to Alaska. "I guess Zeke wants us. Perhaps we should go back?" he asked. Alaska thought for a moment. Why does he have a tent? Were they camping? This leader seemed a bit unruly, and Alaska hoped she would be able to keep up with him. "Sure, let's go," she said, walking toward the tent.

Specter came flying back so fast he knocked over Zeke.

"ouch! watch whe... oh hi Specter." Zeke brushed himself off. "this is Specter. its confusing, but he's kind of a duplicate of me."

Specter bowed comicly. Zeke rolled his eyes but still laughed. Specter backed up and sat in the tent.

"don't mind him he just doesn't tend to stick around since he can't speak. i think its part of the fact that he's a substitue. Specter really shouldn't even exist. I don't now how he happened." Zeke said rambling on.

inside the tent Specter was silently crying.

(apostrophie means thinking) 'just because i can't say I can hear doesn't mean I can't. Specter bawled. (botched the spelling)

"Hmm... Yeah. I probobly wouldn't know what you might have gone through." He said to her. "Hmm... Well, If you need help with anything without lips, I'd be glad to help you, seeing how you can hear me and everything. We'd work together just fine and..." Before he could continue, A complete clone of zeke had arrived. Leigh was surprised and intrigued to see this. As Zeke explained the details on him and his name, Specter backed away and sat in the tent. It's kind of like a double team clone... but with a mind of its own... this day is full of surprises." Leigh thought out loud.

Indeed it was as two other Pokemon were walking this way. "Hmm, more company... I take your acquainted with those two Zeke?" Leigh said to him.

The two arrived at the tent, amongst a Yuniran, a Vulpix, a Tepig, and, of course, their wild leader, Zeke, along with his Scyther duplicate. "Hopefully we aren't interrupting anything."

"Yes, she is the missing member of our group. Alaska is her name. Alaska, Zeke. Zeke, Alaska." Xell turned to the other Pokemon. "What are your names? I'm Xell," he said, repeating the introduction that Zeke had given him.

Alaska observed the other Pokémon in the tent, deciding not to say anything since she had been introduced by Xell. She looked at the Vulpix. Shiny! Alaska thought with a smile. She noticed she might creep out the young Vulpix, so she stopped grinning.

"Oww...." were the first few words that came from the Teddiursa's mouth as he seemed bite on his own hand. They were known for liking their paws as they often tasted of honey. And then he noticed the Pecha berries. "Oh, why thank you!" he grumbled before feasting upon a few. "I'm Teddius, I think you're my team-leader. I wasn't expecting such a surprise landing visit just for me."

Maria glanced at Teddius for a few moments. He was certainly bigger than she was, and probably bigger than she ever would be. He looked a little harmless in all honesty, but seemed to be friendly enough, and that was really all Maria needed in an ally. She froze in place a little at the mention of her being team-leader, simply pondering over the two words for what felt like a second or two, but was actually a good few minutes. Team leader? It felt an awful lot different out loud than it did in her head, and not in a good way. This Teddius was probably expecting someone a little more experienced at leading and probably a little tougher, like a Venusaur! Those things were huge and had the power to match. Or a Dragonite maybe? They seemed to be far too powerful for their own good. Luckily most of them had a sense of honour and peace about them. Not exactly what one would expect in a vicious Pokemon. But still, these thoughts didn't bring away the fact that Maria was in fact just a tiny Hoppip. They weren't exactly known for being valiant explorers or anything of the like. Still, very few things could get past one of Maria's Stun Spores and be left unharmed, that she could take pride in. Her leafy "wings" rustled a little bit and the wind picked up a little, allowing Maria to take flight again. She was now hovering at about the height that the Normal-type stood, and slowly took a bite from one of the other Pecha berries. With her small size just a few berries like this could fill her up. Of course, she did have to eat quite a few times a day though to keep at full strength.

"Sorry, I uh..." she mumbled, her mouth full. "Kinda' phased out there for a moment. So yeah, I guess I am 'Team Leader'. Feels kinda weird though... I'm Maria by the way."

As Teddius sat down on the grassy floor, Maria yawned slightly. Not only had she been hungry, but she'd also been travelling for the best part of four days now. She didn't live exactly near to this lake by any means, and in that time she had slept once... no, twice. Grass-types didn't sleep so much as bask in sunlight, as photosynthesis gave them most of the energy they needed. Still, sleeping was needed sometimes, and she would gladly take part in a good nap once in a while. Besides, dreams were fun, even if they were occasionally dotted with the darkened image of a Corrupt Pokemon. They were growing in numbers, and while it didn't seem like it, Maria was fairly worried about it. But she blanked any doubts with a warming smile and a glance at Teddius.

"So... wanna go see who's our latest competition?" she joked, examining the other Pokemon which were also here.

As they started walking, Chunk began talking. "So the two of us..." Chunk said, "We're the only ones in Salvadores?"

Layne stretched and popped his neck. "It seems to be that way at the moment."

"We're here to fight corruption..." Chunk said, which caused Layne to give a slight frown as they walked down the stairs. "But I haven't the slightest idea of where we should even start."

That made a bit more sense. Layne shrugged. "I'm not so sure myself." They walked out of the medical center when a small pole caught his attention, with a notice. "Perhaps that should help?"

"hmm... Well good to meet ya. I'm Leigh."He said in their minds as he got up from the ground. He was glad nobody mentioned the small black spot on him yet, what with all of the corruption craze going on. He would hopefully make less enemies that way, considering nobody goes off and pokes him. He just now realized the Zeke didn't seem to respond to Felicia's explanation or listen, to his knowledge anyways. "hmm, rather focused on his work. Wonder if he knows we most likely won't stay here for very long." He said to himself.

"Hmm... Well good to meet ya. I'm Leigh." Alaska heard in her mind. She looked at the Yuniran and smiled. She couldn't contain herself. "Wow, I've never seen a Pokémon like you before!" She said and picked up Leigh. "You're like... jello..."

Chunk shrugged at Layne's answer, and was about to add something when the Buizel pointed at a small pole just outside the center. They were now outside, and that fresh air was just what the Shinx was needing after breathing the contaminated air of corrupted, ill or injured Pokémon inside the station. The town also looked cozier and much more spacious than the tight rooms and common rooms inside, where he almost had to share a bed with someone else.

But that fresh feeling of freedom was cut short for some reason once he read the paper that was attached to the pole.
Someone was hiring explorers.

"...looking for explorers who will help investigate the corruption of the Northern lands. Explorers must go to his guild, East of Lakeside for instructions." Was all that was audible and/or comprehensible from his reading as he took the paper off the pole. "Be wary... Silver Springs has..."

And for some unknown reason, he couldn't finish the sentence, and instead handed the paper over to Layne without a word.

Only after giving him some time to read did Chunk continue:

"There's a guildmaster out there hiring exploration teams." He said in a voice that seemed to be a mixture of confidence and fear. "So there's two choices..."

What am I saying? There aren't two choices... Only one!

He paused for a moment, considering the indecision in his mind. It was certainly dangerous to head out... but staying here wouldn't contribute with anything good for the situation.

"...do you know your way around town to the eastern side?" He finally said, looking up at Layne.

"..." Leigh stared at Alaska with an unamused look. Just when he thought he wouldn't have any problems... "...Yes... Jello... Look miss. I'll only warn you once. Please put me down. I'm not fond of people touching me and I'd prefer not to make any enemys..." He said to the sneasel while looking at the small black spot on himself.

(eh. Wish I could find ways to make my posts a bit longer then this...)

"...Yes... Jello... Look miss. I'll only warn you once. Please put me down. I'm not fond of people touching me and I'd prefer not to make any enemies..." said Leigh. Alaska smirked. "Sorry, you look fun to play with," she said. She put him down. Alaska quickly added under her breath, "You're so squishy." Zeke came and nudged a plate of pie towards Xell and Alaska. "Oh, thanks, I love apple pie!" Alaska said, scooping a slice up with her claws.

Leigh blushed with a faint smile. "Sorry, I'm just not fond of it. I've had bad experiences before and I wouldn't want anyone to... er... nevermind. I'd best not talk about that..." Leigh replied as he looked down at his own plate of apple pie. "Hmm..." Leigh moved down and put his face in the apple pie in an attempt to eat it. For some reason, He had the urge to give it a shot... He got a bit of pie in his mouth but the rest of the pieces floated about in it's green gel. "...And this is why I usually don't eat. Oh what I would do to evolve..." said out loud.

"Evolution is not as amazing as you might think," the Pupitar said darkly, his eyes distant and sad. "Sorry, I don't mean to be a drag."

Xell mimicked the Yuniran and shoved his face into the pie, but accidentally ruined the other pie slices. "So this is what pie is, huh?" Xell said in between mouthfuls of the delicious Apple pie.

"Sorry, I'm just not fond of it. I've had bad experiences before and I wouldn't want anyone to... er... nevermind. I'd best not talk about that..." Leigh replied as he looked down at his own plate of apple pie. Alaska smiled slightly and took a bite out of her pie. She paused for a moment and thought. She was eating pie... in a tent... Weren't they supposed to be doing something else? "So, when are we supposed to start our missions?" she asked no one in particular while she looked at her pie. This is pretty good.

"trust me evolving has its downfalls. when scyther like me evolve we lose our scythes. it takes a long hard time to get good with them. I never want to evolve." Zeke replied with a show of his scythe skills.

zeke swung his blades around so fast they were near invisible.

"and my fine-al-he" zeke said with an eratic accent.

he slash through a tree.

"now may i have a volunteer?" zeke looked around at his friends.

Felicia smiled taking a bite of the pie and loving it. She looked up just as a Sneasel finished talking and only caught the word missions. "Umm, Leigh what did she just say I only caught the last word" she said telepathically to her teammate as she took another bite of the pie.
