PMD2: Partner

I really like my partner in this game.

The last dungeon I completed was Brine Cave. I would've been kicked out of that dungeon ten times over if it hadn't been for Cherri. Floor upon floor of Water Pokemon, finished off with a nice helping of Kabutops and Omastar-style punishment. Since I'm playing as Cyndaquil, that dungeon was death. I was glad to have my partner there, as she could take Water-type damage a lot more easily than I could, and deal with the offenders much more quickly.

It wasn't only that dungeon - Cherri is a big help in most dungeons. Her Solarbeam attack is very powerful, and she can take a lot of damage. There's just the issue of trying to get her positioned near the enemy when I need her to defend me.

One thing that annoys me, though, is when my partner or one of the other team members somehow gets separated from the group. If I have a Rollcall Orb or I'm close to the stairs, it's not too bad, but if I'm nowhere near the stairs, it's a pain to have to be interrupted every step with a scene of my partner/another group member trying to fight a wild Pokemon.

An especially bad example of this was when I had to escort this Level 7 Weedle through Amp Plains. The idiot had gotten itself separated from the group, I had used up all my Rollcall Orbs, I was nowhere near the stairs, and I wasn't able to assign tactics to client Pokemon (preventing me from telling it to wait in one spot). Of course, the moron got itself trapped between a bunch of wild Pokemon and was hopelessly outclassed. By the time I had finally tracked down that Weedle, it had used up every single Reviver Seed in my bag. It took me a long time to replenish that supply afterwards.

Easy

This game was pretty easy and did go by quick. Anyways, my starter was Chimchar and partner was Turtwig. If anyone needs a rescue and dont have wifi, you can PM me and I'll rescue you.

I usually don't have a problem with my partner fainting - most of the time, it's either me, or one of the "recruits" taking up slots 3 and 4 in my party. I think the only time my partner actually fainted on me was when it was hit with Sheer Cold (meanwhile, I was hit by it three times - it seems pretty odd for such an "inaccurate" move to hit four times without missing once...).

I dont get annoyed of mine. I am Charmander and my partner is Piplup. But I do wish that the pokemon you become will talk more. ^_^ But I still do love my little Wizard. (Piplup)

BassFace: I am so with you on that one. It irritates me when i step on a warp trap when i am right near the stairs and i suddenly warped away to some random area. Then my escort decides to walk right in to a darn monster house. I had 8 Reviver Seeds by the time i reached the stairs. I had 1 left. It is so annoying. But my partner can get fairly irritating as he always misses or uses his moves and wastes a mad amount of Max Elixirs

Well, My partner is Infernape, But before it evolved I was havin' such a hard times passing Dark Cratar because I was turtwig, But Thanks to the lord for lettin' me win.

Also the best thing to do, (If your not going to use your partner as leader often) Maybe you might need some back-up moves, Such as Focus Punch? You could always disturb your opponent whilst your partner is using focus-punch, If you use your partner as leader often. It would be a good opportunity to put some healing moves (Recover, Slack-off and etc.)

Therez you goesz

No, not really. Actually, I'm a Torchic so I have a hard time battling all the dungeons.

Chikorita was my partner, and because most of the dungeans include water pokemons, It's still easy for Chikorita, not me.

Sometimes, Chikorita dies for no reason, and even if there's an enemy beside her, she wont attack! It gets irritating sometimes, but I just switched her tactics to 'Go after foes'.
