Po-Key-Mon or Po-Kay-Mon?

Me too O_o and it KILLS me to hear PokeMAN.
I say it either Pokuhmon, Pokaymon or Pokehmon, mostly the first and the last.
And did you know, in the first part of the first season, everyone pronounced it Pokuhmon, even Ash and Prof Oak! I know this because I watch the old episodes a lot now.
 
I say either Po-kuh-mon or Poke-mon.

M'eh.
 
Po-kuh-mon.

That's just how a Minnesotan would pronounce it though. "u" sound abounds here!
 
Offtopic, but it occured to me that if we collect people from all around the world and make them say "POKEMON!" at the same... it'll be cool.

One word, so many ways.
 
XD these are one the most wierdest threads i've ever seen. anyways....i think the common wait to say is po-kay-mon, i h8 it when ppl say po-kee-mon....well some ppl have been saying they h8 it too. =P
 
When I was younger, I pronounced it as
- Po-Key-Mon

Now, I pronounce it as somewhere along the lines of
- Po-keh-mon

My mom and dad pronouce it as....Po-ka-mon.^^;;
 
I Prunounce it like Poh-Kuh-mon I Can't help it xD
 
Po-kuh-mon. That's how I first heard it, and I've pronounced it as such ever since. It bothers me to hear it any other way.

I used to always say "Poh-kee-mon." o-O Until they began pronouncing it as "Poh-kay-mon" in the anime did I change my ways...but now I just use a mix of both (I too think "Poh-kay-mon" sounds kinda funny when said aloud O.<).

I say Po - ka - mon.

In the Official Pokemon handbook, it says its prnounced Po - Kay - Mahn.

Each to their own I guess!
 
Yes, I agree - I pronounce it Po-key-mon because I find it a lot easier to say (I think it may just be my accent which makes it that way). Po-kay-mon sounds very awkward when I say it.

I actually say Poh-kay-mon. XP

Especially because it really seems like a Portuguese word, if it wasn't for the 'k'. XD

But yeah, I do find it a lot easier to say Poh-kay-mon. XP

Lol. Same with me. When I was younger I use to call it 'Pokamon' ...Dunno why... my mom calls it 'Po-key-mon', but I never have.
About 6 years ago I made it a point to say it correctly, and now I call it 'Po-kay-mon by habit, it also helped when I learned how 'e's were pronounced in Japan. I don't think anything of it anymore.
