Pocket Monsters No.122

Hello! I have a No.122 (1st gen 1996) Pocket Monsters card. The card has no Rarity marking on it like all other game cards do. is this any thing special?

Other than the missing rarity symbol, it seems legitimate.

It's the Japanese equivalent of this card below:

Honistly I just found these in my mothers attic I have not seen them in years! So I don't know much about them.

Once I hit 15 posts I will make a post with scans of the collection.

The missing symbol could mean its either a misprint or a fake.

I am sure it's not fake as they are all my originals I didn't trade or anything. I have a lot of 1st gen Pokemon and Pocket Monsters.

There's always the possibility that somewhere along the line those Japanese packs were altered. Some places had their own machines for resealing packs back in the day, and many still do.

Not too sure with the Japanese cards.

Though I suppose since the Energy symbols are legitimate on the card, it's not a fake. Most fakes get those horribly wrong.

Ya. From what I've googled it's most likely not fake. So I'm assuming its a mis print. any one else have any input? Thank you donavannj. Any idea what it could be worth? ( I dont want to sell) just asking

That value would probably be at best $0.50 to $0.75, simply because uncommon cards don't go for that much no matter their language.

It doesn't have a rarity symbol because it came in a starter deck. Donavannj's price guess is correct.
