Goldie's Shop

In Cobblestone City, you'll find an elderly lady by the name of Goldie who has an affinity for Gold Tickets. These tickets can be found in a wide assortment of places, with some being relatively easy to find to some requiring some thinking. Her stock expands as you receive more badges and can only be accessed once you get at least one badge. Collect all the tickets and you'll be able to claim all the items from her shop, and maybe a little bonus too.

This hack sounds promising, good work so far :) I would suggest you rework the Sylveon backsprite if possible, it doesn't look very nice atm

This hack looks super awesome! There are all of these subtle features that when added up make it seem really awesome. The one thing that kinda strikes me though is Felicity. You kinda brush over her in favor of Maverick, and it'd be a shame for her to turn out bland compared to him just because she doesn't have a deep, rich backstory.

Yeah, I might try and rework it to match the rest of the backsprites once I get enough time. :) I agree it stands out for the wrong reasons atm and there are parts of it I don't like. But thanks for the compliments. :D

Thanks! :D As for Felicity, while she may not be so essential to the plot, you will see her progress as a character and improve. She's kinda like the antithesis to Maverick- while he seems quite cruel and malicious Felicity is very soft-spoken and tender. I have some good ideas for how she can expand as a character, and her hopes and dreams as well as her natural love for Pokemon is something I'd like to explore. :) It's still early days though but I'd love to show the progression of both characters through the game, :)

Anyway, I'm inserting the running and fishing sprites for the male protagonist at the moment. :) Then I think I'm going to add an event after the first Gym where you get a special gift. :) I'm gonna keep it a secret for now though but let's just say that it's something old but unique due to the new type. ;)

Fishing!

Fishing returns! You can get the Old Rod a little north of Cobblestone City. Similarly to regions such as Kanto, the Odd Rod only hooks one type of Pokémon usually. However, this time around its Feebas! While usually weak, once it evolves, again through the use of a Prism Scale, it's a force to be reckoned with. Other rods will be available later too, and once you get the Super Rod it's rumoured you can find rare and powerful Pokémon...

Eeeeyup. :) Its ability to grant wishes ties in quite heavily with the game plot. And that's all I'm gonna say for now! xD You will be able to get Deoxys too which get its own sub-plot. It'll be sinilar to G/S/C, where certain members of Team Dusk will still try to plot something and you have to stop them. :) There'll also be a handful of other legendaries available too, most of them being involved in sidequests. ^.^

I've been reworking the city with the first gym, and now I'm going to formally introduce it, as well as the type of the first Gym Leader. ;)

Introducing...

Cobblestone City

"The busy, ornate city of wonders."​

Cobblestone City is the first big city the hero will come across. To the northeast of the city is an abandoned manor full of Zubat and ghost-type Pokémon. You'll also find some young trainers inside braving the spooky atmosphere. Some will even challenge you to a battle, so make sure you're prepared! The Gym Leader of the city, Nora, also likes to sneak out to the manor once in a while.

Also in the city is Goldie's Item Shop, where you can trade tickets for special items. You can also find the home of the city's Gym Leader, Nora, on the south side of the city.

Cobblestone Gym

This cute Gym features no puzzle, instead there are two trainers in the Gym that, while they can be avoided, provide some good experience before you face the Gym Leader. The trainers in this gym specialise in the Normal-type, allowing new trainers to get used to battling.

Due to some issues, I lost quite a bit of progress (a lot of items and their sprites implemented. :() However, I'm working back to where I was. :) I haven't had much time today but here's something. :)

The Gold Ticket's item sprite, as well as its description.

Also, in terms of a beta, I'm making a lot of progress generally at the moment and I've got a lot of free time. :) I'm aiming for a late-December beta 1 release at the moment but obvious things can explode change so don't consider this an official ETA, at least not yet. ;) I'll speak more about it closer to the time. :)

Thank you. :D I've managed to insert working versions of the Dusk, Dawn and Shiny Stones last night and I just need to do the same for the other "evolution" items (Protector etc.) The Kings Rock might be a problem since I want them to keep their ability of flinching but I'll see if I can find a work around. :) I'm planning to add a "Link Cable" as an item so I could always make them evolve using that I guess. ^^'

As for the house styles, sadly they didn't survive. :( However, I'm going to try and reinsert them, and hopefully to a bit better standard as I wasn't entirely happy with them before . :)

Something new for you all. :)

This character appears after beating the first Gym Leader in the Gate to the north. At first she appears a bit rude, but upon realising you've defeated a Gym Leader, she sees your potential. As a gift she gives you an egg, claiming to be an Elite Four member. Upon hatching the egg, you receive a Togepi! It can evolve into Togekiss, a Fairy/Flying type, so it could be worth putting in the extra effort to hatch and train it. Hey, wait a second... Elite Four member... Fairy-type...

[Also, she won't look like a Beauty in the final release. I just haven't inserted, or made rather, her overworld sprite. :)]​

Edit: Also, I'm nearly done with Cobblestone City. :) I just need to make a few more additions and then I can fast forward to the next big city as I have already finished the route, "town" and cave in-between (bare in mind this Town is the smallest town in the whole game. ;))

I finished the code for obtaining the evolution stone to evolve your Eevee. :) A little unknown character from a certain Pokemon game returns too. ;)

I'll try and upload a video later. :) It's worth mentioning that you can't actually evolve Eevee into Leafeon, Glaceon or Sylveon yet. I still need to work on creating the evolution branch for Eevee, But it;s a start. :) All the other 5 work fine.

smaflkf. Yup. ^^' I can't believe I made that typo ahaha. xD I blame the fact that I was working late into the night... :p It's an easy fix though. :) And yeah, the Poke Puff's for Sylveon. it's the most appropiate item I could think of. xD

And thank you. :) Just for the sake of not being too controversial most of them will be from the 64 x 64 resource but I'm glad to know my custom sprites are going down well too. ^.^ I try to showcase a lot of them in the Pixel Art section first so I can get feedback too and personally if I think it sucks I'll usually redo it until it looks right, or just scrap it altogether if it's that bad.
