Red hack: Pokémon Brown: 20th Anniversary Edition 6.1.2

Release: Pokémon Brown 6.1.2

Grab it from the OP here!

Merry Christmas from RainbowDevs! As present for you this year, we bring you a Pokémon Brown update! This update includes fixes for numerous issues reported to us over the past few months, as well as some new features, map and graphics updates, and more. This update also fixes Articuno, so Pokédex completion is now possible once again!

Read the full changelog right here!

Remember to always back up your save data before attempting an update, and follow the instructions in the readme file that comes with the game.

A big thank you once again to our players for reporting issues on our report form and over on our Discord server. And of course, thank you so much for playing our game!

We all wish you a happy Christmas and wonderful new year!

Honestly, I feel bittersweet. You keep doing amazing things wi this ROM hack, which makes m eager in playing this hack. However, those same frequent updates give me FOMO f any new features.
I decide to wait, however anxiously, that a fully mature version of this hack releases.

If it helps, the game is complete. The only things we have planned are bug fixes and post-game stuff, so you should be able to start playing without missing out on anything!

In this latest build Ivysaur was unaffected by vine whip. A wild bellsprout used it.

Thanks, I'll pass it on to the devs and we'll look into it.

The post-game stuff counts towards the FOMO.
Honestly, I would rather play the best possible version of any hack, especially this ambitious one, hence I wait.
By the by, wha tools did you se in this hack?

This is gonna sound like a really trivial request, but is it possible to replace the original Gen 1 Kanto music with their Gen 2 counterparts? At the very least the battle themes if nothing else, personally it feels weird seeing Gen 2-style UI n' sprites meshed with Gen 1 music playing but that's just me. I remember a old Gen 1 rom hack had Gen 2 music before, Red/Blue Deluxe if I'm not mistaken

Sorry for asking such a silly thing

currently the website to download this pokemon brown game is temporarily unavailable due to generating "invalid certificate" or "expired certificate" security errors when I visit the site with either the latest Firefox and Google Chrome web browsers (so it's not yet safe to go there right now).

it would be nice if the creator of pokemon brown would have a backup or alternate site, just in case the main site to obtain this game is down

That's why some Devs prefer to host their files over Discord, it's a "jack of all trades" kind of thing.

Nevertheless, I'm not really a fan of the reliance of Discord for multiple things nowadays (although I'm biased here).

It's kind of a bummer tho, but I'd hold on visiting the site until things get sorted out. Better safe than sorry.

Being forced to join a Discord channel just to download something you can't find anywhere else isn't really my cup of tea at all, especially since I'm quite an introvert and don't tend to often stick around in them

Big Mood.

I think I'm one of those people who just kind of "exists" in those Discord groups, so whenever there's a new update I just read the changes, grab the files, and log out.

If there's a subreddit I just tend to ask questions there, not only to answer my questions for myself and others, but because it may also appear on google results.

But alas, Discord seems to have a monopoly on information distribution and group making in MMO's nowadays.

Apologies to everyone for the temporary website interruption. This was caused by a lapsing security certificate. We've renewed it now and we're all back to normal.

You can find up to date copies of our games on our Discord server, which acts as a backup! You can find it here.

Alternatively, we have very good coverage on the Wayback Machine, so if the website ever goes down, you can download the games from the archive copy here: https://web.archive.org/web/20250000000000*/rainbowdevs.com

Is there an exp rate cheat for this hack? I already got burnt out trying to grind a diglet up in the very first area to deal with the geodudes. They don't get dig until level 19

Good work team! I would love to relive the experience <3
