This RP let's you play as one of the Pokémon on a trainer's team. I haven't seen a RP like this before but I've given it some thought and I think it might work if I get active enough people to sign up ^^ Let's try it out, and be nice xD

The trainer's name is Rudy Norman. He's an energetic boy who has just moved to Littleroot in Hoenn, but has grown up in Johto. He's 13 years old and not too mature for his age. Sometimes he runs into trouble without thinking beforehand. He's witty though, and more strategic than one would assume. His hair is brown and rather wild, he usually wears a blue hoodie and black shorts as well as a pair of goggles on his forehead to look cool.

Training Pokémon is his hobby, and his dream is to surpass his father in terms of skills and strength. His father is Caleb Norman, the leader of the Pokémon gym in Petalburg. His mother has been hesitant about letting him take a break from school to travel and train Pokémon, like many youngsters do. She has finally let him do it though, because she thinks that like most kids that go on such journeys, he'll give up and come home soon. She doesn't want to see how determined Rudy is.

He has a classmate and neighbor who's name is June Birch. She wants to become a Pokémon trainer as well and is also training her Pokémon as a hobby when not in school. Her father is the most well known Pokémon scientist in Hoenn, professor Benjamin Birch. He worries about her sometimes and doesn't really want her to take the break from school to go on a long journey, battling people. Her mother is the opposite of Rudy's though; she's always encouraging and praising her strong daughter. June herself is calm and collected. She sees Rudy as a potential friend, while Rudy rather sees her as a rival.

Rudy will start his journey in Littleroot, traveling to Petalburg while training the Pokémon he has or catches. He wants to challenge his own dad to prove he's got talent and can be a professional trainer. I can tell you straight up that he and you will lose that first battle, and take on the gym challenge to strengthen himself. He will also run into an evil team along the road...

About your part:

Rudy owns some Pokémon at the start of the RP. He then catches the rest of the team as he goes on. He'll do pretty much like Ash and keep the first 6 pokémon he catches, since these Pokémon will be you, the players.

You can be any Pokémon that isn't a legendary one. Even starters. If your sign-up is believable and good enough, you can even be a pretty strong or rare Pokémon, since Rudy probably would like some on his team. You can't be an evolved Pokémon at the start though.

You'll be lvl 5 at the start of the RP, no matter what species you choose. Also, you don't have to be a Pokémon that appears naturally on the first routes of Hoenn. We'll let the RP be a bit unrealistic (since when is Pokémon realistic anyways? xD) and let Rudy find you on one the first routes even if you wouldn't be there in-game.

Pokéballs here aren't red on the top; they're transparent! That way, you can somewhat see each other and your surroundings when inside the pokéballs fastened on Rudy's belt. = you can post reactions or thoughts to events even if you're inside the pokéball. You pokémon can of course speak with each other, and other pokémon. You understand what humans say, but might choose to interpret it your way.

And, to make sure the team gets at least a little variety, only one pokémon can have a certain primary type. If for example one pokémon with Electric primary typing has been accepted already, you'll have to choose another type.

Rules:

1* Posts should be at least one paragraph, the length displayed in the general Roleplay Rules (you've read them, haven't you?)

2* Posts the length of a novel chapter (seen in some other RPs here) may not be optimal, since we're all together most of the time. Judge by the situation.

3* I play Rudy. You play yourself and sometimes your opponents or less important people/pokémon you'd like to interact with in posts outside of battles. No bunnying unless the other player allows it.
Keep eventual bunnying of Rudy in character.

4* Sometimes you might have to wait for a certain player to post. Be patient and respect that not everyone are online every day. (though it'd be good if you were at least checking in to see if you're needed)

5* If you drop out, Rudy will catch a new pokémon thus letting a new player in. If you want to jump into the RP again later, you'll have to beg wait for another empty spot like new players would.

6* The RP is PG-14. Violence (they are not throwing gameboy attacks at each other, they are BATTLING), slight romance (please 8D). No sexual mentions or detailed descriptions of wounds etc., please.

7* All rules are subject to change if something doesn't work out~

Just one question: Do pokemon evolve into another region's evo? For ex. Duskull-Dusclops- Dusknoir?

Anyways...

Species: Abra

Gender: male

Optional Nickname: Psi

Personality: Psi is a lazy pokemon, always preferring to sleep instead of getting onto the field and bashing up the opponent, much to rudy's dismay. However, when he is danger, he'll always drill a significant hole in the opponents team. He acts like he doesn't care much for rudy, but in battle he always follows his orders. Psi tends to be very quiet in front of humans, preferring to thought speak instead. Of course, all Rudy hears is "Ab Abra Ra Abra", But the other pokemon hear it like "Is Rudy growing nose hair?". Psi is very much the prankster, as Rudy never guesses what he does due to his quiet nature. From outside it looks like Rudy and Psi don't get along, but in truth, they are best buddies, as Psi was Rudy's first pokemon (Hey, I am the first person to Sign up...). Psi also hates to be disturbed when he's sleeping.

History: Rudy had to spend a lot of pokedollars in order to make Psi ready for battle. Abra only know teleport, and can learn no other moves via leveling up. So Rudy had to go to the store and buy a TM to teach Psi. However, Rudy also decided to train Psi so his abilities could be used better. Before Psi was caught, he was an ordinary pokemon, and not many pokemon bothered about him, as he would just stay out of their way and sleep... Usually. However, even before he was caught by Rudy, he was a prankster. So a few pokemon, particularly a flock of pidgey, will remember him for the time he destroyed their nest because they were chirping real loud when he was sleeping.

Weakness: Psi is super ticklish. Usually any attack that isn't meant to tickle him will tickle him, and he will double over in hysteria, laughing real hard. In this state he is unable to battle properly and his attacks go wild, and go all over the place, harming people who weren't meant to be harmed.

Capture: (I figure since I'm the first to sign up, Psi is Rudy's first pokemon.) Rudy and his dad were going on a walk. They had invaded Psi's personal space by accident, and Psi was sleeping. Psi woke up and attacked full force. Caleb had to put up a fight with his pokemon in order to subdue it, but he was sort of having a hard time. Rudy, interested, snatched a pokeball to from his dad and chucked it. Caleb was surprised for a moment, then calmed down. The ball shook thrice, and Psi was caught. Caleb said that the Abra was his, as he had thrown the pokeball. Rudy gladly accepted, and nicknamed the Abra Psi.

Species: Riolu
Gender: Female
Optional Nickname: Charly (AGAIN?!)
Personality: Charly loves battling and is always up for battle. Except for some days. Some days she is lazy, and won't battle for over seven hours. Before Rudy caught her, she use to travel every region looking for friends, but all the Riolu had been caught. She had always wanted to be caught, but every single trainer except Rudy, walked past her looking for wild Diglett. Thats why she really likes Rudy and all his pokemon. She is VERY quick when it comes to battles.
History: (i wrote some in personality) When she hatched, she heard the roar of Entei. Charly got caugt with the moves:
Focus Blast (Fight)
Aura Sphere (Fight)
Bullet Punch (Steel)
Shadow Claw (Ghost)
Weakness: Has good Defense, Sp. Defense, and Sp. Attack, but not that good Attack. If she gets hit by a grass type move, she'll trip and won't attack for a bit.
Physical Description: Like a normal Riolu, but When battling pokemon smaller/weaker than her, she somehow turns shiny! (yellow)

This'll probs be a good RP.

Species: Surskit

Gender: Male

Optional Nickname: Buzz

Personality: Buzz is a little bit of a wild card. Normally he is an outcast, remaining idle and not talking, however, sometimes, he will be very friendly, sometimes ferocious, and sometimes just not wanting to move. Due to this, Buzz is very hard to control, but once you gain his trust, he will do anything for you. Rudy will continue to have problems with this zany character, though. He is stronger than he looks, and is a very good team player.

History: Surskit is normally a wild pokemon on Route 102. He is pretty young. He says he lived on that one small pond his whole life. For some reason, none of the pokemon in Route 102 seem to know him. His history is mostly unknown.

Moveset: Bubblebeam, Quick Attack

Weakness: Is very prone to sudden changes, and does not do well with distractions. Also hard to control.

Capture: Will be captured soon after the story begins, on Route 102.

Sorry if it doesn't seem to be detailed, he is a mysterious character, and more will be revealed about him as the story progresses. (If it progresses at all, that is.)

Whoa, whoa, whoa... Both of the above characters are Mary Sues. They have ridiculous movesets, for a newly caught pokemon, and Riolu isn't even a Johto/Hoenn pokemon (unless you count the Safari Zone, and I don't) and turns shiny (???) when in battle. I'm sorry, I know it's not my place to say this, but please at least make them normal.
Abra I can understand, it needs moves, but still, Psychic, Energy Ball, Shadow Ball? Where's the room for improvement? (not to mention the moon.) We ARE starting on a new adventure, after all.

Again, sorry for the rant, I just dislike Mary Sues.

Thank you all for liking the idea :) It something doesn't really work, we'll work our way around the problem together to make the RPing smooth.
Seems like I'll have to clear up some things though.

There's no "Physical description" in the SU, because you look like the usual pokémon of your species does. Your posture or way of moving may be special though and of course reflect your personality. That can be implemented directly in the RP posts~

Regarding movesets, I'll give you one when we start. And then you'll gain more moves as you grow in levels or when you use a TM/HM. Or maybe Rudy will train you very hard for something special which makes you learn a certain move, kind of like Ash's Pikachu learned Iron Tail?

And you can choose any pokémon that appears in Hoenn or Johto. A Teddiursa would be as fine as a Snorunt for example. We'll figure out a way for Rudy to capture you on the first few routes even though it wouldn't really makes sense in the games ^^


@ Nimblethumbs - I like Abra's personality ^^ A lazy prankster, some psychic guy there. And you did sign up first and I like the idea of Abra being Rudy's first pokémon. It's also true that Rudy would probably buy a TM to make Abra able to battle since battling is what Rudy wants to do. But only one TM. And definitely not that strong attacks. It would rather be Hidden Power or Psywave. Personally I'd prefer it to be Hidden Power as it would lead to more interesting situations (if we can figure out how it works, do you know?) But if you want, Psywave can be ok.

Another thing is that I'd like you to put spaces between your paragraphs when doing real RP posts. Mainly because it's much easier to read than a big wall of text ;)

Other than that, the SU is good enough and the story about how Psi got caught is believable. But take away the moveset, since I'll give you a moveset when we begin, and take away the half-moon part :3 Until you edit your SU accordingly - PENDING (and yes, Dusknoir would be ok)

@ mzmingle - It can be a good thing to re-use characters in different RPs since you can develop the character in many ways, but Charly hasn't got a clear enough personality here. She's a bit Mary-Sueish. That means (at least in this case) she's a bit too good to be true, and hasn't got a vivid enough personality. She doesn't seem interesting enough to RP with.

And that was just to give you an idea of how to improve a SU. But another thing is that Riolu is only found in the Safari Zone of HG/SS, and isn't even in G/S/C. You're going to have to make a far more interesting SU than that to get Riolu + explain how Rudy got her, or choose another species. For now you're - REJECTED

@ 647 - Buzz, ey? He's believable enough and I like that you mean for Rudy to have some problems with him, it'll get interesting. His weakness is good too. I'll have to nullify your moveset though, as you might understand from above.

I dislike Mary Sues as well, but please don't complain about the other SUs here like that. When we've started you may post thoughts in our OOC thread to improve the RPing. You're still - ACCEPTED :3

I can't decide, but I'm leaning towards bagon, as salamence is one of my favourite Pokemon, as well as the fact rudy would want early use of fly (or without a HM)

Species: Aron (Steel/Rock)

Gender: Male

Optional Nickname: Scrapper

Personality: Scrapper is the Pokemon most likely to give the team a bad reputation. He is surly, mean-spirited, nasty, and disturbingly violent. He will fight anyone, over anything, at the drop of a hat, and fight dirty. Built quite a bit better than a tank, there's nothing he enjoys more than taking the nearest solid object and headbutting it. It's not so much the mindless destruction he likes, it's just that Scrapper thoroughly enjoys being strong, and smashing things to powder seems like the best way of expressing this.

History: A rough-and-tumble kid from the wrong side of Granite Cave, young Aron was taunted for his naughty ways and lack of intelligence. He was often taunted that "nothing could get through that rock head". He wanted to prove he could beat anyone, even that Trainer outside the cave! He marched onto the field of battle, but got distracted when the Trainer dropped a Figy Berry. While he was eating it, he was captured in a ball.

Weakness: When angered, he rushes into battle regardless of orders. Also a bit of a glutton, and gets distracted easily by food.

Species: Slakoth (Normal)

Gender: Male

Nickname: Claw

Personality: Claw is a relaxed and rather slow Pokemon who would rather go at his own pace rather than being pushed. Always keeping a silly and sometimes stupid smile on his face, Claw remains quiet and calm. Because of this, he is not a self-starter, and is completely unmotivated. Rudy's personality and Claw's personality are opposites: Rudy is energetic, high-strung, and immature at times, while Claw is tired, calm, and takes his time when performing any action, much to Rudy's disappointment. Claw is naturally subservient and obedient. According to Rudy, Claw is disobedient and lazy. His relaxed and rested demeanor often has an effect on other Pokemon. Claw keeps open and unprejudiced opinions about most things.

History: Being raised in Petalburg Woods led to Claw's relaxed personality. He had the easy life of munching on berries and playing with his friends (or rather, watching his friends play). His parents, both respected and well known Slakings, set the example for Claw. Claw's need for a Leppa berry led to his capture, in between Petalburg City and Oldale Town. Upon finally reaching a berry tree, he was spotted by Rudy.

Weakness: Claw's oblivious and relaxed nature often leads to problems when battling. He has above average defensive stats (Defense, Special Defense, Hit Points) and an average Attack, but a horribly low Speed. Combine this with a naturally slow nature and a bad ability (Truant) and there is a problem with reactivity.

Capture: Will be captured at Route 102, in between Petalburg City and Oldale Town.

Again, I love this idea!

@ New2 - Absolutely ACCEPTED. Interesting character, and I hope Rudy will be able to raise him to actually be useful in a fight xD

Rudy can catch him in Petalburg Forest if you really want to, but the fight with his father will be happening before that so you'll miss that in that case. For the reason of fairness, we can do this a bit unrealistic and have Claw appear on another route even though he's from that forest xD You decide.

@ Wind - You may reserve one type, I think, since you wouldn't be able to make an SU for two types. I'll reserve Dragon for you, but if nobody has signed up for Ghost before you put your SU up, you can of course get that instead if you change your mind :) - RESERVED

@Godzil - Wonderful character, though I hope he won't be disobeying Rudy too much to go smash things on his own xD We'll see what it leads to. - ACCEPTED

But if you really want it to be captured in Granite cave... well, lots of things happen before that so I think you should consider at least having him live in Rustboro Tunnel instead, or even Petalburg Forest. Or we can say he grew up there somewhere and strolled to another route for any reason. Unless you're ok with skipping the beginning of the RP of course.

Species: Torchic (fire)

Nickname: Ruby

Gender: Female

Personality: loves battling, but isn't very good at it, she is shy but that doesn't mean she can't make friends.
I have to go to school now so ill post the rest of my SU later.
EDIT: heres the rest.
Personality (continued): She loves sleeping and half of the time, when not battling, she sleeps, usually in the pokeball. She doesnt have many friends yet, and she wants more, but, again, she is shy. She is quite fast. Her nature is Timid.

History: She was raised in Littleroot Town, always eating sweet pokeblock. Her mother and father, both Blaziken, are usually out where stronger pokemon are, training, once she was a little older, she was allowed to play in route 101, she battled a lot, but mostly lost against wild Poochyena. She always looked up to her father, because he was a strong pokemon, though she was weak. When her father leaves and battles other pokemon, Ruby looked for friends to play with. When her father IS there, he always gave her a battle to see how strong she is. Now, Ruby's mother and father are out battling.

Weaknesses: Her nature, Timid, means she is bad with attack, even worse than sp. attack and defense, which she isnt very good at. She is sleeping a lot. Whenever she yawns, she almost always falls asleep at a maximum of 5 minutes after.

Capture: She gets captured in route 101, if your OK with that.

Ruby ran through the meadow, following Rudy all the way, until, she met a wild Poochyena. The Poochyena growled at her, and then used bite. It hurt, but Ruby defended herself with an ember attack, it hit the Poochyena, and it got burned. It ran at her using tackle, and then, since it was quite weak from the burn, he ran to find some rawst berries (are they rawst?)
".....ouch, anyone got an oran berry?" said Ruby, scanning the area, and finally finding an oran berry. she ran to it and bit it, it filled her mouth, and it was so tasty. A Zigzagoon came to attack her, he was going to eat the Oran berry...

Okay; I hate to have two SUs posted at once, but the idea of being a captured Pokemon does seem very interesting, particularly when it be party-based. I also certainly have the time to post.

Species: Trapinch
Gender: Male
Nickname: Desert
Personality: Flighty. Desert is pretty substantially irresponsible, which is represented best by his two primary states: battling and exploring.He get's very excited about battles, to the extent that he makes it hard for either party to leave until the job's done (tryin' to work Arena Trap in there). Alternatively, he'll generally try to get out of any sort of emotionally stressful situation, which has lead him to avoid settling in any one area. Given this, he looks forward to the day when he grows wings.
History: Desert's parents were a Flygon mother, and a foreigner's Heracross. He spends his earliest times exploring Route 111: searching it's secret tunnels and battling other weak Pokemon. After his childhood had passed, his mother was captured, leaving him alone. When she left, he was relieved that he would no longer need to stay within her guard. This introduced him to a wonderfully adolescent emotion. He began to feel a confused self-loathing. In his newfound shame, he left the sand, moving west to new, alien ground.
Weakness: As said in Personality, he shifts between excitability and avoidance.
Capture: Since he's not Johto, I thought I'd use this to request that he knows Dig, given his overzealous battling and escapism (and that Trapinch learns it at 40).

I'm excited, and I hope this SU is sufficient.

@ mzmingle - Alright, actually I'd like to see a sample of your RPing. Can you put it in a spoiler beneath your SU? :)

I want everybody to notice, btw, that this RP is currently PG-13 and I've requested for the RP moderator to change the title to PG-14 instead. I want some cool battles and feelings~ Without gore though. We'll keep it to a tasteful level. (like, no intestines or de-attached limbs xD -ish)

@ MMGiru - As long as you don't have 2 SUs posted in this RP xD I don't want a person to have multiple characters, actually.

I like that you're providing lots of background to why he is the way he is. I'll think about the Dig move. Would make sense for a Trapinch to know it. Also, you're saying he's heading west. Let's say south west, like route 103? Then, you're - ACCEPTED


Ground, Bug, Normal and Steel are taken. Grass, Psychic and Dragon are reserved. Since there are only 2 more spots in the RP, a combination of first + best SU will get the spots.

Species: Bagon
Gender: Male
Nickname: Eurus (I usually nickname all the pokes on my game, or none, the majority seems to have nicknames)
Personality: Eurus is a calm, steady, daydreaming and slightly emotional type.
Eurus is determined, but knows he'll have to lose sometimes, especially to ice and dragon types, he is dreading the day he may have to fight Glacia or Drake.He enjoys watching the clouds and dreams of the day when he'll soar through the sky carrying rudy to all different kinds of towns.
Eurus prefers to stay out of pokeballs when possible, not because he finds them uncomfortable, indeed, he finds them extremely relaxing, but because he feels he'll miss out on important things.
History: Eurus was born in meteor falls, but was caught by a trainer, who later decided that he would be better off in the wild and released him on route 105.
He was soon caught by Rudy, to help him battle his father.
Weakness: Eurus can sometimes be daydreaming or looking at the clouds instead of battling, pulling him down.
Other than that, Eurus wants to become a salamence fast, and frequently bugs Rudy for rare candies that other members may need, resulting in Rudy putting Eurus out last in battle sometimes. (assuming that Rudy understands them)
Capture: Explained earlier in history.

@ Nimblethumbs - Now it works ;) And I'll let Abra know Psywave, mostly because Hidden Power would be so tricky to describe ^^ and because since Psywave is an attack that does little damage sometimes and a lot damage sometimes and that's interesting. (normally Abra won't learn Psywave but we'll do it anyways)

I hope you agree with me on some level that we will wait for Blind Clown to post his SU since he reserved a spot earlier than you. The one of you two who posts the best SU and the most interesting pokémon will get the last spot ;)

I can say that dragons are fun and strong but we have a Trapinch (eventual Flygon, though it may take some time) already, so a Grass pokémon (which Blind Clown asked for) is a little more tempting at this time. If Eurus gets interesting enough though, you have a bigger chance. I can't really say before I see Blind Clown's SU ^^'

When the last spot is decided, I'll post the OOC thread, and then we'll prepare the RP there and start off in this thread.

@ mzmingle - Much better :) You're improving, I've seen some posts you've made in other RPs and I'm telling you: keep practicing and roleplaying and you'll get even more skilled. As it is, you might be a bit too young for this RP. I hope you won't get upset by this, but I have to compare you to the other people who sign up and this time they did better. But keep practicing!

@ ~ Wind ~ - Would it be ok to change the weakness a little? He's a pretty strong type of pokémon already you know, and wanting to grow up fast isn't really a bad thing ^^; Maybe evolve that thought about his old trainer. Maybe he's a bit afraid of failing again or nervous when things look the least bit bad?

I like the thought of an emotional dragon xD Though still calm in a way. Hmm interesting character.

As we're as good as done with the SUs, I will shortly post an OCC~ The first thing to do there is to decide what pokémon Rudy will own before the RP, as well as the routes/places where everyone else will be caught. Feel free to discuss or propose suggestions to each other on this.

I'd rather everybody was caught on routes 101, 102 or 103 but Petalburg Forest or route 104 works if you're willing to wait a bit before it's your time to post. You'll miss the battle with Caleb Norman if you're caught later than Petalburg City. (oh yes, we'll be playing a story after my rules here~)

So, you're free to state what you want if you've already decided your capturing place, or discuss this. THE OOC THREAD IS HERE.
