Pokémon CAPTURED Version [PG-14]

[OOC]
Didn't realize you knew Harden.
>.< This will be difficult.

[IC]
Success! He had feared it might not work twice, especially when he felt himself get distracted with the human's decision to impose names on him (it was really the appeal of the name that distracted him), but it turned out the Aron was plenty oblivious. Admittedly... there was a rather large amount of tree missing. It looked like it might come down at the slightest provocation.

Idea began to form. No time to consider, yet. Desert went in for the bite. The miniature tank was most displeased, yelling in pain quite a bit. Desert did not let the time it spent shaking him off go to waste. Even as he was beginning to tell that the thing had strengthened it's skin to prevent damage, he held fast and planned the next attack.

When he could hold on no longer - well, he could hold on no longer. His mouth sore, he backed away, rotating around the tree as much as possible. If the thing could be tricked with the same technique a third time, he would use the time it took to recover, then tear the last supports from the damaged tree. Too much placed on a long shot, but that was what he had thought of.

[OOC]
Feel free to bunny Desert a bit, seeing as everyone else is waiting, now. My thoughts on his current state are that he's now very excited about defeating you. Obviously, no need to make that the outcome ('cept that you'll have to lose to one of us).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit:
[Still OOC :P]
Just so we're all on the same page, with no misinterpretations, Desert is planning on dropping a tree on you.
'Cause Bite isn't gonna cut it. Well, no... Bite will (hopefully) cut the tree.

((Since everyone's waiting, I'll wrap this up.))

The bug finally let go, Aron chose his moment to strike. He tackled it, sending it tumbling away. It scurried behind the tree, so Atom gave chase. He was met with another face full of sand, coupled with a bite to the face. Aron rushes the bug, but collides with the tree. "Stupid tree! Stop getting in me Aron's way!"

Desert hurries over to the other side, pushing on the tree with all his strength. It starts to give, so he bites through the weak point. The tree groans loudly as it falls, headed straight for Aron.

Aron looks up just in time to see the tree collapse, falling on top of him. "Uh-oh..." The tree crashes to the ground, leaving the area still and silent. Aron suddenly bursts through the branches, staggering for a step before collapsing. "Me Aron tired..."

(OOC: Yes, let's move on ;) )

Rudy watched Desert make his strategic moves, amazed. He cheered the ground type on and when the tree came down upon Aron, Rudy laughed out loud and almost fell to his knees.

"Desert! You're amazing!" He said when he had caught his breath and Aron had apparently fainted. Maybe getting a tree in your skull was too much even if you were made of iron.

"But that little fellow wasn't too shabby either... what do you say, Desert?" but without waiting for an answer from the pokémon who had done all the job defeating the pokémon who had suddenly charged at them, Rudy pulled forth an empty pokéball.

To make it all extra slimely clichéeish, he yelled: "Pokéball go!" as he flung it towards Aron and hit right on its head. Pokémon magnets, they had got to be...

Aron was sucked into the pokéball and for a moment it seemed like the ball would burst open again... it was a strong pokémon after all. But he seemed to finally have given up, and the pokéball fell still. Rudy cheered and jumped at least one meter up into the sky.

"GRrrrrreat!"

He picked up the ball from the ground, sniggled at the broken tree trunk and then remembered Psi. What had happened to him? He just disappeared earlier.

Just as he was about to walk back to the pond to look for Psi, he hesitated... and turned to look at Desert one more time. "Thank you," he said, smiling broadly, before continuing to walk.

By the pond, he found a by now familiar sight. "Psi!" he sighed. "As soon as I turn my gaze away from you, you go off fighting another wild pokémon?"

The Surskit was as fainted as you could be. Psi... was not very far from it. He was soundly asleep, a tiny snoring bubble visible from his nostril. Rudy sniggered though, it wasn't really a bad thing that Psi was so self-sustained. At least not for now.

"Poor thing," Rudy said, bending down beside the blue pokémon lying on the land. "Looks like a bug."

He pulled up the pokédex and found out that it was a Surskit, and indeed a bug. Thinking only for a split second, and still holding Aron's warm ball, he pulled out another empty one. "My pokémon beat you, so I've got to fix you up, right?" Of course his real motives weren't so selfless. Another pokémon on the team... awesome.

He took a step back and gently popped the pokéball onto the little blue pokémon. After only a little whimpering, the pokéball fell silent. Aron and Surskit were both caught. Rudy's eyes glowed and his pokémon would surely wrap their hands around their ears, if they hadn't been asleep, fainted or... or not owning a pair of hands, or ears for that matter (Desert xD).

"GGGRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreaaaaaat!!!"

(OOC: If MMGiru or Nimble (or Godzil or 649 maybe) wants to post something now, you may. Otherwise, I'll update this post with us entering the next area (Petalburg) soon. Where we will meet someone special and catch Claw the Slakoth... :D )

Turns out, with group consent, it does take three licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop.

[IC]
It turned out that a tree falling was a very loud affair. During the commotion, he heard a cluster of snapping, crunching sounds coming from the spot the Aron had been standing. His immediate, ghastly concerns were laid to rest when the thing came out from the tree's wreckage. As the little rock fell over, Desert suspected it was the tree itself that made those noises.

He recalled admonishing the psychic about taking chances - the psychic that beat him - and decided that in some situations, assumptions are the only way to keep up with the fight.

Suddenly, laughter burst from the direction he had originally come. From the human child, Rudy. The Trapinch had ignored all the signs before, but now, in the fully lucid calm, he would have to address it. The boy had captured him, and there would be no denying it from this point.

"Desert! You're amazing!"

Indeed; no denying it.

"But that little fellow wasn't too shabby either... what do you say, Desert?"

"Agreed. I felt it prudent not to get hit by...."
It didn't even notice while it pulled out a pokeball. Desert remembered their speech was one way, and cursed the human vocal tract for it's distinction.

After succesfully catching the Aron, Rudy yelled out "GRrrrrreat!". He then thought for a moment, and turned to leave. Then he stopped, turned to Desert, and said "Thank you".

Following him to the pond, Desert considered the advantages of traveling with a trainer. Exploration, battling, and getting stronger. All things he was doing anyway.

It was often that the Slakoth ventured from Petalburg forest. To him, this was just another journey outside the forest. He was often independent like this: it was how things were in Petalburg forest. Everyone knew each other. You couldn't be mysterious or shady in a place like that. Perhaps some of the Taillows were... but other then that... the Slakoth's mind began to trail (as it often did) as he lumbered toward where he knew a tree of Leppa berries were.

((OOC: Referring to the berries near the entrance of Petalburg city, on the northern side of Route 102.))

IC:

After quite a while of crawling east, he made a cut south and located the berry patch. He had wandered to this place before, he couldn't remember how many times. The Slakoth stockpiled as many Leppa berries as he could carry, and ate the rest, leaving a spicy taste in his mouth. He didn't even bother to touch the Oran Berry tree next to him.

On his way back, he began to grow thirsty. The meandering he had done had added time to his trip. He looked regretfully at the three Leppa berries he was carrying. He wanted to save them, not eat them. Nevertheless, he plopped one in his mouth, only to realize that no matter how moist or juicy Leppa berries look, they will always be spicy. A burning sensation began to develop in his mouth. He knew there was a pond nearby... somewhere. The nearest one was in Petalburg city.

This realization could have brought on a cascade of emotions: fear of humans, fear of being seen... It could have also brought up some horror stories his friends had told him about humans: how they abuse Pokemon, mistreat them, men in blue or red suits forcing them to do labor.

Of course, none of these realizations hit the Slakoth. He began to lumber toward Petalburg city, in hopes of finding the pond, and taking a drink.

Current setting: Petalburg City (late evening when we arrive)

Allowed posters: MMgiru, Nimblethumbs, Godzil, 649, New2 (and ~Wind~ if he wants to do/change some of the planning or whatever)

Goals: Find and capture Claw the Slakoth somehow. Get to the pokémon gym. In any order.
You may also surprise your fellow players and do anything you like, of course, but the goals need to be fulfilled before leaving town.

Team:
Psi (lv 7), Desert (lv 6), Aron (lv 5), Surskit (lv 5)

-----------------------

It was nearly getting dark when Rudy finally arrived at Petalburg City. He had made the trip all the way from Oldale in under a day. Not bad!

All his pokémon were resting in their pokéballs. They had all been fighting today, and two of them were completely knocked out... and he didn't know them yet. He was just as excited to meet them when they felt better as he had been with Desert earlier or with Psi back when he had first caught the Abra.

He rushed to the Pokémon Center, knowing almost where it was as he had been in Petalburg once before, when visiting his dad. Caleb Norman. Rudy's whole body twitched in excitement as he thought about the battle he was about to do against his dad. It would be epic. He would show the world! He would show that girl, June, that she was silly to think he wouldn't manage.

In the pokémon center, the nurse behind the counter took his pokéballs and went away to make his pokémon healthy with the special techniques developed for pokémon healing. In the meantime, Rudy wanted to go to the gym immediately... but no. He would go there with all his pokémon on him.

As he finally, after many minutes of waiting (which was actually quite fast, but Rudy didn't see it that way) his pokémon were considered healthy. The nurse even told him they were all in good shape. Smiling broadly, he stepped out from the pokémon center and sent them all out from their pokéballs. The sky was almost dark, the sun had set. But he couldn't wait, he wanted them all to meet each other. And to see what Surskit and Aron were like.

As the 4 pokémon took shape, Rudy put on his authority face. It didn't look very awe-inspiring, but luckily there wasn't a mirror up close so that he could see that. There was only a pond by some houses a little distance away...

...He had waken up in a pokeball. Then the Surskit was sent out of the ball, made a bit of a pirouette in the air, and landed 5 feet away from the boy. So this was who captured him... It was a dirty trick... capturing him when he was fainted. Then he saw the fox, sleeping as usual, next to him. That one! The fox that took me down, and polluted my precious pond. How dare he?! He was so riled up, he was about to attack him.

Then he realized with a start, that his pond was probably being mucked up right now. But he was in a house. Didn't matter, there was an open window right there. He ran outside to the nearest pond. The boy didn't seem to notice, good. But something was wrong. Immediately, he could feel, with his legs touching the water, and the ripples they made, this was not his pond. Where was he?! He skated around, panicking. Oh man, oh man, what am I going to do?! This pond was hard to skate on, he wasn't used to the ripples and the layout. He ran. Ran into the city. He was in the city, there were many buildings here... He had seen many buildings here, but none this big... This was definitely not the city he was used to... He ran even further, but then a strange tingle enveloped his body. He looked down at one of his legs. It was glowing red. He started to feel fuzzy, then he blacked out. Before he knew it, he was back in the pokeball. That boy was looking right at him. He looked right back, with a vindication. Damn this boy! Then he looked around, and saw all the other pokemon the boy was carrying. There was that metal hunk of rock, that orange bug, and that damn psychic fox thing. So they were all his pokemon. Then one of them spoke.

"Hey now, you're Rudy's pokemon now, don't just run away from us..."
"I will never be his! He may have caught me, but I will find a way to free myself!"

He was determined. Still, even he knew he could do nothing... He could feel the boy walking outside... Then, out of the blue, the boy grabbed his pokeball, and sent him out. What? Why now? "Go Buzz! Fight that Slakoth!" What's a Slakoth? Buzz? Is that my name now? What a horrible name... The boy pointed to a stupid-looking sloth, drinking from the pond. Why should I fight him? He isn't doing anything wrong, other than drinking from that pond. But it isn't my pond... He still got on the pond anyways, secreting oil from his feet. It took him a while to get used to the foreign pond's ripples and layout, but he felt like he could skate easily now. So he skated around... ignoring the Slakoth. What am I going to do with this boy?
After a while, he got bored. He decided that stupid Slakoth might be worth beating, so he could get stronger... Why not? He decided that a quick attack would be best, to take that Slakoth off guard. He rushed, attacked, and then...

(OOC: Is this too much bunnying? I tried to limit myself... Now, New2, let's have a back to forth battle. Your turn.
Blah. Ninja'd. I hate when that happens in rp's. Screws things up. Let me edit my post. K, done. Sorry, it didn't really fit.)

(OOC: xD Sorry to ninja you. I read your post before you edited it and got a bit confused xD But fixed nao. That's why I've learned to open another window and refresh the page before posting my finished text xD
/overuses xD-smilies)

As soon as Rudy had sent the pokémon out, the Surskit had buzzed away. In a blink. They turned their heads around and finally spotted it on top of the pond. It was... skating around on it, in circles, very fast.

"He's very fast!" was Rudy's unnecessary comment.

The next moment, the pokémon was up from the pond again, rushing almost invisibly fast towards the city. Rudy didn't realize it could be panicking as he ran after it; he simply thought the blue pokémon bug was stupid. "Darn... have I caught a pokémon there's something wrong with?"

Turning around the corner of a house, Rudy realized he had cornered the Surskit. "Aha!" he called out, aiming with the pokéball. The Surskit didn't even seem to notice him... but it got sucked back into the pokéball uneventfully.

Rudy breathed out. "Phew. What a little... he just buzzed away! Incredible... or simply weird," he snickered. "I know what to call you, at least. Buzz."

(OOC: Filled out your story with Rudy's POV :> Tho, I think we should describe finding Slakoth as well. )

((OOC: I apologize, but I'm slightly confused... have you all found me yet? )) IC:

The Slakoth looked at the sun. He hadn't realized how much time had passed since he had wandered over here in search of Leppa berries. It was about twilight. Maybe a little later. Maybe I should head home... I have my Leppa berries. So... His mind began to trail into many unnecessary and stupid thoughts.

His thought process was broken by a commotion. He could hear a boy shouting "Aha!" at his Pokemon, or at least that's what he thought. All of the sudden, he realized what he had originally thought about. He should be heading home. Not before a last gulp of water. He ducked his head down and took a final drink.

[OOC]
I had the majority of this sitting in Word for quite a while before I decided to post it. I'm not really sure about finding you, New2, accept that Rudy somehow became aware of your presence, which I've yet to hear explanation on. After that, Buzz took a minute to decide to attack you. As far as creating such a situation, I'm feeling like making the others not speak is a sort of bunnying, so I'll limit the real-time bits of my post to a few minutes in which Desert may have just not noticed it.

[IC]
Oh, so that's what that warmth was. The machine in the PokeCenter was very interesting, but aside from its healing properties, it had the curious ability to remind him of a perfect day. It made him quite sleepy, and when he succumbed, there were dreams in this sleep.

He was burrowing, first through sand, then through harder and harder, and more compact... eventually he was carving through solid rock! By this point, the earth had reached a stable temperature. He dug, and dug, and dug, until it lost its novelty. When that happened, he found his way into a cave! He explored the many tunnels, passageways, and rooms - rooms with space for battles. And battle he did: biting, hacking, climbing, moving in and out of walls, floors, and ceilings to strike and strike fear. Curiously, he was able to move through the air without effort too. At was almost as if… yes, he was flying! Master of land and air, he was soon winning aerial battles, high above grand deserts, forests, and mountains and their valleys. They were all so… easy, though. What he needed was a challenge. Yes, his thoughts were becoming clearer and clearer. But what did a challenge entail? Clearer and clearer, it came to him. He needed to be able to lose, for it to matter.

Suddenly, there was a challenger; it was the challenger. He knew who it was, though he couldn't say from where. The shape was familiar enough, but….

Desert awoke.

He remembered enough of the dream to feel a cynical humor. Desert was not unstoppable, or even particularly difficult to defeat. The idea that he would get bored with battles, for their being too easy, was a disgusting vanity. He wanted to dwell on this more, to despair in some dark hole, but he was suddenly plunged into a world with sound and some sort of light.

Looking around, the Trapinch saw a human child and several pokemon, all of which he recognized, save for a small bug, which immediately ran away. As it set itself atop a nearby town, Desert began to look at his surroundings. It was a town, of some sort. Not as developed as the one where he had run from children, but big enough for his liking. The sun was setting, which cast a brilliant light through the trees to the west, in the direction of that pond. He quite liked trees. He noticed his mood improving, and decided it was for the best, after all.

At about this time, Rudy was running after the spider-thing, which he promptly sucked into a ball.

Desert, back in a good mood, turned to Psi and asked, "Spoils of battle?"

(OOC: 649's post did confuse things a little... When using your imagination, don't be too fast-paced perhaps ^^

Note that I'm playing Caleb outside battles. And that people will say he's out on route 104 tonight and not currently in the gym.)

IC: Rudy looked at his pokémon. At least Desert and Psi weren't at all as eager to run away from him as Buzz had been. He was pretty glad for that. Desert even looked like he was enjoying things.

"Now, what should we do? It's pretty late... but I really want to go to the gym!"

However, by the shoreline of the pond where Buzz had flung about before, Rudy now spotted a pokémon he hadn't noticed before. It was a relatively big, brown/gray one, and it was drinking. Was is a trainer's pokémon? Rudy scratched his head and looked at his pokémon to see what they thought about the situation, if they even had spotted the new pokémon.

It was a city so there shouldn't be jungle-looking wild pokémon. But then... if its trainer wasn't near... it looked like it had some strong claws. And he needed to test out his newly caught Surskit. A devious smile appeared on his face. He made sure none of his pokémon was too far away, before sending out Buzz again.

(OOC: There, now we've set up the battle, 649 and New2 xD )

Rudy lost focus on the pokémon by the pond and saw that Aron was reacting. He seemed to be saying something to Psi and Desert.

"Wow, you're alive," Rudy said jokingly and bent down uncomfortably close to the rocky pokémon, eyes wide. "You're a real wild one, judging from how you fought Desert before... but you look a bit like a piece of metal junk!"

Once again, Rudy didn't realize he might have said something offensive to a pokémon, and straightened up, laughing. "I know, I'll call you Scrapper! Welcome to the team!"

[OOC]
I'm just gonna skip to Scrapper's question. Perhaps the mystery of who said "You're Rudy's pokemon now" will never be fully solved. If Nimblethumbs wants to think of something for that, he can bunny Desert a bit, within that space of time.

[IC]
Trap-Jaw. That would've been a cool name, too, Desert thought.

"Some sort of town, I guess. Don't know where -"
Rudy cut him off, seemingly without knowing it. Desert decided it was something that would happen quite a bit.

"Wow, you're alive. You're a real wild one, judging from how you fought Desert before... but you look a bit like a piece of metal junk!"

Desert decided that was something that would happen a lot as well.

But the Aron didn't appear to notice. Especially not when Rudy suggested the name "Scrapper".

"Scrapper? Me Scrapper?" This gave him pause. Bright as a cave wall, this little guy. "This boy different. Give name. Me Scrapper like."

He tapped the human's foot, in what Desert assumed was acknowledgment. Then he walked off a little ways, stopping at a lamp post. After having a taste-test, the tank shouted "Metal tree taste good!"

That's just fantastic. Desert gave Psi a look and said, "I must be the only one here that eats organic material."

Rudy bolted upwards when he saw Scrapper tumbling away and start chewing on a metal lamp post. Panicking, he yelled: "Gaah, that's probably not a good idea!"

But the lamp post was already pretty much demolished. Maybe the Aron was hungry? Boy, Rudy wondered what it could possibly be eating in the wild... meaning, what on earth would he feed it?

"Eh... As long as no police sees it..." Rudy said, trying to make it ok to let his pokémon eat lamp posts for dinner.

Maybe he shouldn't keep all his pokémon out of their pokéballs at the same time... but he didn't want them to be closed up in that tight space (at least he imagined it being tight) inside a pokéball. He'd go claustrophobic if he was made to stay in there for whole days at a time.

"Gaah, that's probably not a good idea!"
Agreed, Desert thought.

"Eh... As long as no police sees it..."

He considered the possibility of Rudy getting in trouble for a moment. No, he decided, no, I can't very well let him get sent somewhere that there's no fighting or adventure to be had.

The Aron hadn't seemed to notice the human making rationalizations for it, and apologized, walking back and wiping bits of metal onto it's fore-leg.

"Me fight if Blue-Bug too weak!"

Absentmindedly, Desert said, "You know, I feel like I should discourage you from fighting in a pond."

After saying that, he realized he no longer knew if they were still fighting in the pond, and turned to look.

It was almost nighttime. It was time to get back, and Slakoth lifted his lethargic head out of the water and let out an audible sigh. There was something so satisfying about drinking this water. It was then that he realized how much attention he had been drawing. He spotted a fox-like Pokemon... an ant-looking Pokemon, looking at him... they looked somewhat exotic. He hadn't seen these sorts of Pokemon in Petalburg Forest. There was a blue bug thing... and...

Some Steel-Type Pokemon was glaring at him.

He clutched his remaining Leppa berries and slowly backed out of the cool water. He felt pretty sleepy. It was time to go. The Slakoth, making no effort whatsoever, wasted a fair amount of time turning himself around. When he finally did turn around, he started off toward the dense foliage.

((OOC: I'm waiting for either Buzz or Scrapper to make the first move. It only seems natural, because Slakoths are lazy, and slow. Note: he is still on the coastline of the pond, it's just that he has his back to you all. NOW IS YOUR CHANCE! HE IS OFF-GUARD!!!! ))

Buzz, seeing an easy opportunity, decided it was a good time to strike. He skated on the surface of the foreign pond, and sped up, rushing towards the stupid sloth. He ran headfirst into the Slakoth, and before it could even react, attacked it 3 more times! Pow, pow, pow!
"How do ya like my speed, huh? Can't even do anything, can you?"
He skated to the front of the sloth, and noticed that it didn't even seem to notice him. Buzz must have been so fast, the sloth still hadn't reacted. Heh, this was easy. He let loose a stream of bubbles, coated with his syrup, that popped into the sloth's eyes... Finally, it seems to have noticed. He was about to attack, once more, but he noticed the metal animal walking towards the sloth. Agh, I hate interruptions... But it was too late, before the Surskit could attack, ...

(OOC: Sorry about the confusion, :( I was trying to tell a story from my POV, and had tried to get others to "fill in the blanks". Also, the sudden change of time was pretty weird.)
