Pokémon CAPTURED Version [PG-14]

The Slakoth turned around, very fast for a Slakoth. Am I being attacked? He saw an angry-looking bug thing. It was blowing bubbles. Hehe... Bubbles... The stupid Slakoth reached up for a bubble and popped it with his sharp claw. The bubble stung him, and many more came afterward, irking him more and more. He felt surprisingly wiped... and what do you do when you feel tired?

The Slakoth glared at the bug. "How do ya like my speed, huh? Can't even do anything, can you?"

The Slakoth's angry glare suddenly and unexpectedly turned into a stupid and calm smile. His eyelids began to droop. He opened his mouth, revealing a purple tongue, and uttered an extremely loud Yawn. He hadn't even paid attention to the metal hunk moving toward him. After finishing a long Yawn, he lay down, lazy and somewhat beat up from the bashing he recieved. He was angry, but that could wait.

Scrapper sees Slakoth clutch something to it's chest. Berries. Scrapper charges forward, as Buzz blows Bubbles and Slakoth Yawns. As Slakoth lays down, Scrapper tackles him in the side. He stands over Slakoth apologetically. "Excuse me! Me Scrapper take berries now."

((Two-on-one? However shall this battle end?))

The Slakoth watched the metal thing creep toward him. All of the sudden, a quick Tackle hit him. He flew backward, and the metal thing crept toward him again. It paused a moment, then stole the Slakoth's berries.

No.

It had gone too far this time. The Slakoth's normally happy, stupid, and lazy personality had been altered temporarily. This Slakoth was mad. An average Slakoth may have been a push over. Not this one. The Slakoth reared up on his hind legs and towered over the Aron. He glared down at the Aron and lifted one paw up, preparing a strong Scratch. The Slakoth's claw began to shine, and his normally purple eyelids, half-way down his eye, were now completely up. Before going for the swipe, Slakoth unleashed a loud roar and Scratched as hard and as fast as he could.

Rudy ran to get closer to the battle, and saw the Slakoth raise its claw, furiously. The part of Rudy's mind that actually was focused and had a sense of strategy in it, began to work.

"Buzz! Dodge it using Quick Attack!"

And he saw Scrapper tiptoeing in his rocky manner away from there... carrying some berries. "The hell you're abandoning something important just for eating," Rudy said, annoyed. Though, I've done the same some times...

Rudy hadn't noticed the Yawn Slakoth had already given Buzz, and didn't realize that Buzz would fall asleep any second... would the bug be awake to escape Slakoth's claws?

Buzz was hit by the Yawn. He felt a bit drowsy... almost too drowsy to notice the sloth's scratch. He wanted to sleep, just sleep... Just crawl in one of the bushes and sleep... Yes... He would do that...
"Buzz, use Quick Attack!"
He looked around, and saw the sloth ready to make a scratch. The sloth looked huge. Huge and MAD. Quickly, the Surskit ran forward, and hit him in the belly with full force! The sloth seemed winded from the impact. Taking advantage of the sloth's Truant, he ran around, and hit him square on the back! The sloth seemed hurt. The quickly, suddenly, out of nowhere, Buzz just fell down. He was sleeping.
In his dreams, he dreamed about exploration, going to newer, different lands. The most beautiful pristine ponds... The most gorgeous trees... even hordes of Masquerains... Oh how beautiful the Masquerains were... He then had an aspiration, a dream.

The angry Slakoth's claw swiped down, but miss-struck. Instead of hitting the Surskit, the claw swiped at the ground by the pond, tearing a large gash in the coastline. How did that miss? He quickly thought it before being struck in the belly, and he flew backward. He was surprised at how strong the little bug thing was. He didn't expect that it would hit him that hard. He hadn't even landed, and he was struck in the back again. This was too much...

Then he realized that the Surskit had fallen asleep. How could he have fallen asleep so quickly? Oh... He remembered his Yawn. He was badly beaten up. And he knew it. He collapsed, trying to sleep, but the pain was too much. In a daze, he wondered why he had even gone here in the first place. Then he remembered. The Aron had stolen his berries... maybe he wanted some berries too! It's always polite to share. He tried to push himself toward the Aron, who was now making off with his berries, but it hurt to move. It hurt to do anything. Slakoth sighed, and shut his eyes.

Seeing Slakoth fall down, Rudy cheered, and almost wanted to hug Psi and Desert from happiness. Maybe good he didn't. He then noticed that Buzz had fallen as well, and his cheering broke off.

"Buzz!" he said and ran forward, crouching by his newest team member. But... "What's this? He's asleep!"

Rudy knew a sleeping pokémon when he saw one. Psi had taught him what it look like, very well. Sighing and smiling, he patted the water bug on its yellow hat-head. "Great work anyways. You're really fast!"

With that, he retreated Buzz into its pokéball, and then turned to Scrapper, who was walking back towards Desert and Psi, looking awfully content with itself. It apparently had eaten some berries already. Rudy facepalmed, but made a mental note to steal... well, at least ask for some of its berries later. If the Aron hadn't eaten them all by then. Rudy loved berries as well.

Lastly, he turned to the new pokémon. The Slakoth. It seemed to have fainted... or at least it didn't want to move. It looked hurt. A little something stung inside of Rudy. Maybe it was wrong to battle wild pokémon just for the fun of it. To weaken others to strengthen themselves... Hm. But Buzz had proven its skills. The battle wasn't for nothing. At least he would make sure it wasn't.

With a characteristical sneaky smile, he took forth an empty pokéball. The last but one he had on him. He threw it towards the Slakoth and crossed his fingers as it bounced once, minimized the pokémon while sucking it in, closed and fell to the ground....... And stopped. Slakoth was caught!

A joyful shout echoed through the city, probably crushing someone's eardrums. Just... awesome.

(OOC: Can we jump to arriving at the gym now?
Post your "ok" in the OCC thread, or simply keep posting here to advance the story slower and not jump. Don't bunny without permission.
You've got permission to bunny Rudy a little, UNTIL we step inside the gym doors. Then I haz story~)

[OOC]
I'm just gonna do a POV post, though that'll probably end with my doing a teensy bit of Rudy-bunnying. I'll give an explanation at the end, when the idea is fully formed. At that point, I'll await for you to confirm or deny canonicity (that has to be how you would form that word), then I'll edit, or not edit, accordingly.

[IC]
When Desert looked at the pond, he saw that the fight hadn't started yet. The little waterspider was running around on the water's surface, apparently deciding when, or possibly whether, to attack. Not soon after Desert looked that way, the creature it was deciding a course of action about, noticed all of the things gathered around it. In equal swiftness, it turned tail, and proceeded to move away from the water. The Surskit moved in for the kill... or something like that. He hit it, fast, but the clawed humanoid didn't seem fully aware of his change in position.

By the time Scrapper had walked over to them, Buzz had started blowing bubbles and gloating at the opponent. This seemed to trigger something in the sloth. It gave the spider an angry glare, which Desert considered for a moment. The real fight begins?

But no; the sloth's rage became a smiling yawn. In about the space when Scrapper tackled the downed thing, to steal some berries (It seems no civilized folk can eat berries in peace, these days), Desert began to wonder how such a thing could survive for any length of time.

It's reaction to the theft, gave him a flicker of insight. With the fastest movement he'd seen from it yet, by a gross margin, the tree-dweller rent the ground open, in a manner Desert found reminiscent of Psi and Scrapper's attacks. Combined with it's apparently limitless fortitude, Desert was thoroughly distracted by what it could do with even a minimal amount of speed. He didn't notice Rudy shouting at Scrapper.

After the one outburst, it seemed the fight had nothing else of interest to offer. Desert turned to look around the town he was on the outskirts of. The sun had set some time ago, and the streets were illuminated by lamp posts, each identical to the original shape of what was mostly in the Aron's stomach. He went to examine the head that his new companion had left on the ground. At least he stopped before ingesting bits of glass. If there was one thing Desert's mother had always told him not to eat, it was.... He brushed such thoughts aside. He didn't want to taint the happiness he'd come back into, and fill his mind with hatred.

His pondering was interrupted by Rudy's appearance beside him, beckoning him back into the ball in which he'd previously dreamt peace and comfort. If he were to go there now, what foulness would he find in his mind?

He shook his head, in the manner he'd seen trainers, and some not-entirely-wild pokemon, do before.

Rudy seemed to consider this for a moment. Not wanting him to misinterpret, Desert moved to stand beside him, facing the same direction.

[OOC]
My thinking is that this would at least give Rudy pause, given that he'd already considered the potential for claustrophobia in a pokeball. Whether he accepts or not, it's still a great devise for adding to Desert's irresponsibility. Again, say the word (or... words?) and I'll edit that business out.

'Side from that, I'm ready for a gym battle (even though he's not there), and I think that Desert's certainly ready for a distraction.

Guess I'll post in the OOC thread, just to organize things.

Psi had been watching the battle with mild interest. It seemed to him it was going very wierd, and he confirmed that when he saw scrapper rush forward to steal the leppa berries.

He was quite interested in the new addition to the team. Another (apparently) lazy pokemon! They were going to have tons of fun.

Psi was getting eager to move on to... To move on to wherever Rudy wanted them to go. He turned around to look at Desert.

"I can't believe I'm eager to do physical work."

(OOC: So, I can't really be sitting up for more than a couple of minutes :p But I'll try to write a post so you guys can continue and catch Bagon. Sorry if it seems stressed or misspelled. And I hope MMGiru approves of me sllllightly bunnying Desert :3

When I'm writing these in-between-events-posts, I can't help "bunnying" you all in that I move you when I'm moving Rudy. I can't think of another way of doing this, but rest assured I'm always thinking of a way to let you guys interact and RP as much as possible!)

Rudy gathered his pokémon into their pokéballs, all but Desert who still seemed to not want to go inside. He rushed towards the gym, eagerness spelled out on his face... but as soon as he saw the gym doors he remembered that he probably should go heal up at the pokémon center before entering. Darn... several more minutes!

Half an hour later, it was completely dark outside. Rudy didn't know the time, he hadn't bothered checking the clock in the pokémon center and didn't realize his pokédex had a clock in it. As he stepped up to the gym doors... they didn't open.

"Aaargh, what?" Rudy said, full of impatience.

A face was seen through the glass door. A young man opened the door up. "I recognize you..." he said, scratching his head.

Rudy moved forward. "Yeah you bet, I'm the son of your gym leader!" he said feisty. "And Imma challenge him, so step aside!"

The young man sighed. "It's way too late to challenge anybody tonight. Why don't you come inside and get a bed for the night? I'm sure Norman wouldn't object to harboring his own son for the night."

"Nuh-uh, I want to see him! Where is he? Let me in!"

Rudy struggled with the older guy for a moment, until Desert let out a loud sigh that startled both of them. "I didn't even know pokémon could sigh that loud," Rudy said to himself.

"Will you listen to me?" the older guy said, pretty angrily by now. "Your father isn't even here now. He's camping out on route 104 to investigate the rumors of an unusual pokémon appearing in the area!"

Before he could say anything more, Rudy was gone, the Trapinch trailing after him. The man in the gym shook his head in disbelief. "How could the peaceful Norman ever have gotten an impatient son like this? What if our gym leader was exactly like this when he was young..."

-----------------

Current Setting: route 104
A pretty well laid out road leads to the west from Petalburg, to the sea.

By the cliffs and beaches lining the shoreline, there lies a smaller town called Foggyshore Town. It's called that because there's always a dense fog hanging over the town from midnight until the sun has completely arisen. In the middle of Foggyshore lives the old, eccentric sailor Mr Briney. There's no pokémon center and only a small shop.

North from Foggyshore there's a dusty road leading to the dense Petalburg Forest. It's pretty well traveled though.

Goals: Look for Norman. Find and catch the rumored unusual pokémon (Bagon - Eurus)

Allowed posters: Everyone. (Welcome into the RP, ~ Wind ~ )

Team: Psi (lv 7), Desert (lv 6), Scrapper (lv 6), Buzz (lv 5), Slakoth (lv 5)

-----------------

Rudy looked at his surroundings. It was very dark. He finally pulled out his pokédex. Ouch, almost midnight. How could this have happened?

There was a lot of tall grass lining the road for at least one kilometer ahead. If it had been daylight, he could almost have seen the ocean. But as it was now, all he could see was forest and grass. Now, where could his father be? The weather was just a little windy.

"Daaad!" He called out. No response. If anything, he'd just wake up wild pokémon who'd want to fight him for disturbing their sleep. Not that Rudy was realizing that....

Determined to find his father, or at least catch a glimpse of the unusual pokémon, he took forth all of his occupied pokéballs. On the ground before him, only slightly visible to Rudy's human eyes but very much visible to each other (since most pokémon eyes are much more sensitive than human eyes), his pokémon materialized.

Psi, Scrapper, Buzz and the Slakoth he'd yet to name. He'd have to see what it could do first. Desert was still standing by Rudy's side.

A loud grumbling noise was suddenly heard from Rudy's stomach. "Aaaw... When all this is over, I'm so gonna make dad buy us all a big dinner! Or maybe breakfast."

(OOC: There. Be my guest to play it out to reach the goals or do anything else you'd want to do in the middle of the night. You'll get sleep later, I promise :p

You're not allowed to play Norman. I do.

You're allowed to travel the whole area of "route 104", Foggyshore included. Just remember we want to battle Caleb already... so maybe save the most part of route 104 for later? :3

You're allowed to play Rudy. Since I won't be able to post much for a couple of days more. BUT don't use Rudy to bunny other players. Talk things out in the OOC thread if any misunderstandings arise.
... and remember to stay true to Rudy's character xD )

(((OOC: I will be gone for a lot of the day. I'm auditioning for a movie, so don't expect too much from me for these next 8 hours. Feel free to SLIGHTLY bunny Slakoth just for now. POV post.)) IC:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The battle in the pond had wiped the Slakoth out. I really want to take a nap... He thought, in a daze, from within the Pokeball. Now that he had some time to himself, he could reflect upon what had happened.

I just wanted some of those berries, and then a nice drink. Then the blue fast thing attacked me. That was kind of mean... but maybe it was his pond. He skimmed around on the pond like it was his. He attacked me three more times after that. Then... bubbles! His mind wandered for about 3 seconds, recalling the shininess and beauty of the bubbles and how they stung. After that, he began trying hard to remember what happened next. Oh yeah! I Yawned at him. Then the metal thing attacked me. And stole my berries. The Slakoth began to feel a primal rage burn inside him. It was eventually cooled down by his general tiredness. I tried to Scratch the bug thing. I was pretty angry at the steel thing, so I guess I tried to take it out on the bug. I missed. He recalled how it all went downhill from there. He was attacked twice more, then gave up. Now all he wanted was sleep.

His wishing for sleep was soon met by healing at the Pokemon Center. He was still inside his Pokeball, but immediately felt better. He felt more energy, or the most he could feel for a Slakoth. He was ready to get back. But since he was inside a Pokeball, what did that mean? Did he belong to the Trainer? He had heard things about these Trainers in Petalburg Forest, both good things and bad things. His quick glimpse of the Trainer earlier had made him worried. He seemed hasty and reckless, both things the Slakoth wasn't. He hoped he wouldn't get pushed too hard by the Trainer. He didn't seem malicious or evil, like the rumors about the men in blue and red clothing his friends had told him about earlier. Either way, he still felt an apprehension toward this idea of staying with a Trainer. I'll just see what happens.

No sooner had he been healed then he had found himself out of his Pokeball in the middle of the night, with many other Pokemon as well and the Trainer. He heard a loud stomach growl, which was met by his own. He was hungry. He wondered if the Trainer had anything for him. Then he turned around and inspected the other Pokemon.

There was a fox thing. He looked like he was sleeping, and he immediately felt a connection toward him. He could tell they were going to get along. There was also a brown quadruped with the biggest mouth he had ever seen. He wondered if the thing was hungry like he was. And then there was the bug thing. He was slightly put off. Would the thing attack him like he did last time? Probably not, he figured that he was the Trainers now, and that they were on the same side.

Lastly, there was the steel thing. The Slakoth was not very happy about them being on the same side. It had stolen all of its berries. The Slakoth always tried to keep an open mind about everything, but food was a boundary where NO man or Pokemon should cross when dealing with this hungry Slakoth. He could tell the fellow glutton was the same way. He wondered if they would have problems when dealing with meals.

Thankfully, the Slakoth was too hungry to start up a fight, and thus, ignored the steel thing.

I's settin' up a POV post!

Desert, a bit shaken still, barely had time to answer Psi before the Abra was sucked into a pokeball. He looked at Rudy, who seemed to have gotten his message about not going into a ball.

The set off immediately, going through the town, to the pokecenter they had visited earlier. As Desert was out of his ball, and needed no healing, he was allowed to watch the machine do it's work. He did so with a fair interest, as he had only barely seen it from the ball. When they left, it had turned dark.

Rudy led the way back to a building they had passed on the way to the clinic. He fiddled with the door for a moment, and Desert looked at a sign out front, until someone appeared through the glass.

"I recognize you..." said the newly appeared man.
Fiercely, Rudy answered, "Yeah you bet, I'm the son of your gym leader! And Imma challenge him, so step aside!"

Desert looked at his trainer for a moment. From what he knew of gym leaders, they were powerful, and people were continually trying to defeat their pokemon. Was this boy trying to beat his father, who was one of the apparently strong gym leaders?

Hmmm....
Desert looked at the sign again. Need to learn to read, he thought. He let out a hard sigh, with more than a little annoyance with his lack of knowledge. Rudy commented quietly, and the young man finally got an uninterrupted statement in.

"Will you listen to me? Your father isn't even here now. He's camping out on route 104 to investigate the rumors of an unusual pokémon appearing in the area!"

Rudy was off immediately, and Desert followed, his thoughts balanced between the idea of a battle against a trainer (a powerful one, at that) and the plantlife just outside the town. While on a road from the town, Rudy called loudly to his father, apparently unaware of the disparity between distances of both hearing and travel between adults and children; distances that would serve cumulatively against him.

After a while, he let out the rest of his pokemon, whom Desert greeted with a great grin. After a moment, he spoke, enthused.

"Seems there's a good fight soon."

((OOC: You want me to keep steering you? I thought you wanted more freedom ^^ But if you're comfortable with me making Rudy move the story on, I guess I'll do that. And as usual... any bigger comments/thoughts on this goes in the OCC thread.))

Rudy shrugged off the hunger and started wading through the deep grass, hoping his pokémon would be loyal enough to follow. When a pokémon was caught by a trainer, a supernatural bond was formed and thus the pokémon couldn't really escape the trainer wholly, even if it should want to. Rudy kind of guessed this, at least.

Where could his father be? He was searching for a pokémon... and pokémon weren't exactly living on the plain road. He'd have to go deeper into the wild to find it. Finding it would mean finding his father, right? He was lighting the way with his pokédex screen.

((OOC: Wind, you posting soon? :p I want to make sure Bagon will react if we find it xD ))

[OOC]
I was really hoping someone would post, so I wouldn't be ignoring anyone's reactions to Desert, but I guess I'm the only near-recluse in this thread.

[IC]
After observing taking note of what everyone seemed to think of his comment, Desert followed Rudy a ways, before veering towards the trees. He thought he'd seen... yes... berries... or at least one.

"It's been too long, my little friend." Desert's mouth resisted speech, for the evil smile spread upon it. He tasted the one he saw, and backed away, savoring it. Sweet and spicy. A delicacy, to my thinking.

He'd no idea that once again, the cruel forces of fate would keep him from the feast he was expecting.

[OOC]
Do or do not with it, as you will. If no one wants to use it, I can probably come up with something else. I've got something simple, basically set up in this one, if nothing else presents itself.

Anyway, here's keeping the thread active. (Off to play Oblivion)

((OOC: I'm twisting the RP around, to get it to move.))

After a while, Rudy surrendered to the darkness. Now, that wasn't as doom-ish as it sounds; he simply gave up searching for the unusual pokémon. He looked back at his team, who was looking a bit tired as well. And very hungry.

"Aww... where are we now? I think we're lost."

He looked down and spotted Desert... eating berries? "Good boy!" he said to it and headed in its direction. But there were no more berries. Rudy was bitter and was almost about to scold Desert, when a voice reached him.

"Rudy? What are you doing out here?"

Rudy spun around. It was his dad! Caleb Norman was suddenly standing right behind him.

"And all your pokémon are outside of their pokéballs? Wait... what pokémon are these? I thought you only had Abra!"

"His name is Psi," Rudy said. "Dad, I've come to challenge you!"

A loud grumble was heard from Rudy's stomach, and perhaps from several of the pokémon stomachs as well. "Oh... and to ask you to give us some food..."

Caleb laughed. "Dear boy. Come back with me to the city. It's way too late to be running around here on your own."

"But you are?"

Caleb waved the comment away, put his arm around his son and started to walk back to the road towards Petalburg. He looked around them to see if Rudy's pokémon were following.

((OOC: You may post if you wish to. Otherwise we'll skip to the next day... when the gym battle is finally about to commence. I'm sorry for rushing it, but don't you all agree on that the RP will feel a little lighter when that damned gym battle is over? xD ))

OOC: I managed to get a lot of detail in this. I'm usually not good with first posts.

Eurus sat on the beach, staring out at the ocean he longed to fly over.
He missed hi family in meteor falls, each with thier own name. Eurus was proud of his.
His trainer had only caught him two days previously, but some nutjobs at Foggyshore had convinced hium that pokemon disliked being kept by trainers, and the trainer had released them all onto the route.
Most of the other pokemon had left the route, but Eurus had stayed here.
He had nowhere else to go.
No idea how to get back to meteor falls.
Eurus layed on the sand.
............................................................................

It was dusk already. The small bagon walked up the steps and into the grass, and lay face down. He didn't like this. The best thing to do, he decided, was to find a new trainer. His sister had seen him caught, and there was a chance trainers going this way would pass through meteor falls.
The thought cheered him up.
He sat up and walked past Foggyshore. Someone noticed him, and ran back to the town. He didn't care, continueing to walk up the route till it was starting to get dark.

.............................................................................

It was getting dark when Eurus got back, and he sat down near the small cliff, waiting for trainers to challenge.
After a while, he spotted a small child walking into the town with a man. He heard a few Pokemon call it Petalburg, or something.
'Damn. Missed my chance...'
Eurus totted along to where the town was, waiting for the boy to come back, or any other trainers.

OOC: Just to clear it up, in Salamence families, all pokemon are given a distinctive name, usually one the are extremely proud of, and will fight to defend it. Would be funny if Rudy tried to name him something like "Baggy". Eurus may bite him.

Caleb suddenly stopped in his tracks, and seemed to be listening.

"What's the matter, dad?" Rudy said, looking at him.

"It's here. The pokémon," Caleb said.

Rudy was immediately thrilled again, and suppressed his hunger for a little while longer. "Are you going to catch it?"

"I'm going to see what it is. And..." he glanced at his son. "If it's not too dangerous, why don't you try and catch it?"

Rudy shone up. Another member on the team! Of course he'd try. Caleb kept staring back into the darkness, as if he was waiting for something to emerge...

Eurus noticed something, through his half-sleep.
The boy seemed to have come back! Eurus pried his eyes open, and blearily stumbled across the grass.
He fell after a few steps, but it woke him up. Luckily, the boy and man hadn't seemed to notice.
Eurus walked out and sat on the floor in front of the boy.
'So, are you going to start a battle?' he asked. He was hoping the boy could understand, but even if he didn't, it seemed the man would.

All of a sudden, a tiny creature that somewhat reminded Rudy of a toy he'd had when he was little, stumbled forward and walked closer to them.

Rudy made a move to back off, but Caleb took him by his arm and made him stand still. "Just wait," he said. "Not all pokémon are hostile."

The pokémon came even closer, until it was only a few meters away. It simply sat down there, and said something. But of course, Rudy couldn't speak pokémon language and didn't understand it.

"It's a Bagon!" Caleb said. "They are rare. Especially down here. I wonder... since it comes so close to us in such a strange place, maybe it's been caught before and released into the wild."

"But is it ok to catch a pokémon like that?" Capturing it was all Rudy thought about now.

Caleb let out a quiet laughter. "Yes," he said.

Rudy smiled his almost crazy smile, and looked back at his other pokémon. Which to pick for battling the little dragon? Ah, of course. His newest addition. Slakoth.

"Slakoth, I choose you!" he said and motioned with his hand for Slakoth to walk forth and start battling with Bagon.

((OOC: Now we have to wait until New2 posts before we can write about the battle. Of course, the other players can post anything they like, and can even interrupt the battle or do something else. You are very free! ))
