Pokémon Centers provide free services for Pokémon trainers and Pokémon. I am curious, how would they be financed? The Pokémon trainers do not pay to recieve the services.

On other threads, I suggested that they were funded by a socialist government. (Maybe with carbon taxes because there seems to be a shortage of polluting cars in the Pokémon world.) Does anyone have any alternative explainations?

You think too deeply about it. Haven't you watched the first few episodes of the Pokemon Anime? They keep a load of Pikachu in the basement to power the place.

Okay, in all honesty, that's a good question. Maybe the government (if there is one) pays them.

EDIT: On closer inspection, you seem to have already said that.

Well considering that I don't put a lot of thought into these things I'm not entirely sure. If I had to guess I would say the people pay taxes for them or there is some charity organization that keeps the centers running.

Pokémon is a children oriented anime, and because of this the things they do doesn't always match up with what may happen in real life. Thinking about how their world is run is thinking too hard to begin with. Though, it does leave many of us curious when it comes to thinking about it. Looking at a more realistic point, and because it isn't show on air, for all we know the citizens of each region may very well have pay taxes year round. This amount of taxes may just help take care of medical expenses and more. Though, medical attention in specific may just be given as free medicare with the government paying for the use of it all.

Thinking more outside of the box though, they do take use of the Pokémon to help around. Like mentioned Pikachus run the electricity (and this has been seen before) as well as Chancey running around the Centers helping the nurses. So, there are ways in the Pokémon world, it just takes deep thinking. o_o

It's questions like this where for a moment I think seriously think about it, and then I just remind myself, what do I care it's a kid's video game. I could go on for hours talking things things that don't make sense in these games, why do all the trainers just stand in one area or run around in circles, how do the legendary dogs appear on the other side of the country in seconds, why do berry trees just disappear after I pick the fruit off them, why do I need special shoes just to run and why do I need instructions on how to run, why can't I use the vs. seeker in a forest, and the list goes on. If I gave actual thought to all of them I'd probably be at it for days.

I think they would be funded by the government. Or maybe the tax payers (if there are any) fund them.

    its a conspiracy O_O!!!!!!

A non-profit charity (as Asyelipera said), would refute the Socialist paradigm you present the pokemon world as falling under. It's a presumption I know, but no more so than assuming 4 fictional regions are Socialist (which is a pretty broad term by the way), based off of The Pokemon League, and Pokemon Centers...

Probably funded by the Pokemon League, or, as I've suggested in my writing, they're a front for some profitable Pokemon-smuggling operation. They don't charge to avoid looking suspicious, and the illegal activity provides more than enough cash in kickbacks to keep the places running. Heck the free rooms they offer aren't up to Hilton or even Comfort Inn standards, so they can't cost that much to run.

    Theory:

    It's government run.
Adults pay taxes, and some percentage of it goes to running the PCs.

Thank god the protagonist is a child, and the game only illustrates the world as seen through a child's eyes.

they arent funded by anybody actually, scince electric type pokemon power the power plants, there would be no need for there to be funding. most pokemon do the work in replacement for the labor that humans would normally do. which is why pokemon truley is a world of wonders. why do you think most kids arent in school? because it isnt mandatory to have the proper eduacation to do jobs because most pokemon do them anyway, and power fuel is unlimited so it dosent cost a thing. am i making any sense hope i could help
