Green simply pwned me the first time I battled him. Well.. I was a n00b then. I had level 30 Pokemon, one level 65 Typhlosion.. and Green had like level 60 things.

I train my Pokemon when I need to, just before Gym Leaders, wherever there is wild Pokemon. But that's what I won't call training, I'll do my proper EV training for my proper team in specific places.

I train them, well, last minute style, like I save the game, fight the E4, turn it off, and go train them until I know that I can defeat the E4.

I guess that works, but I like training waaay before battles. That way I have a guarantee of not loosing. =3

I train them way before battles too. Because I hate it when I reach the E4 or a Gym Leader and I can't win. And I don't like last minute work, not in real live either.

Well it all pans out, the stronger your pokemon are the stronger the opponents are, if they are weaker then the opponents will be weaker to.
