Pokémon Collectible Eggs: Fun New Concept or Just Another Gimmick?

    Hey everyone!

I'm working on a university project, and I'd love to get some feedback from the Pokémon community! I've been thinking about a new toy concept that's kind of a mashup between Pokémon and collectible eggs (think Pokémon eggs + Hatchimals-style). The basic idea is that the Pokémon are placed inside collectible eggs, and the goal is to collect them all, with some rarer than others.

The eggs would be a mystery until you open them, so there's that element of surprise like with blind-box figures. We'd have different types of Pokémon inside, possibly based on rarity—like common, rare, and even legendary figures. They could also tie into regions or events from the games to add a bit more lore behind them. My thought is to really focus on the collectibility aspect, since that's such a big part of the Pokémon experience.

I'd love to hear what you all think! Would something like this interest the community? Do you think this would be a fun way to bring Pokémon eggs into real life, or do you think it might come off as too gimmicky? Any feedback or ideas are welcome, especially from those who are into collecting!

    Thanks in advance! :)

Likes the theming. Imagines some initial interest. Expects repeat purchases to decline quickly, though. Feels bad to get duplicates of Pokemon, especially if it is one you do not like. Seems relatively likely with the rarity system (and without it too). Depends how many unique Pokemon you produce, though.

Sees two avenues to go here:
    1. Add something more to the eggs. Ideally enhances Pokemon somehow. Could be different stands, accessories, or...something else. Increases the odds you get something new in every egg.
    2. Sell multiple eggs together. Yields more chances to get something new. (May not be super viable, though. Never stated how big or how expensive these Pokemon are.)

Brushes aside the problem of getting sued by the Pokemon Company, if this were a real product. Competes with them still. Why gamble on a random Pokemon when you could get a Pokemon you want for sure (likely for less money overall)? Mentioned pushing the idea of trading with others. ...How often does that happen with the actual games? May be tough to find even a common, given the real rarity of finding someone else in-person willing to give it up.
