Hack Series: Pokémon Crowned Sword & Armored Shield (SWSH Hack)

Hello, I'm using your mod now and I'm loving it. I saw somewhere that it is possible to get an alolan starter during the diglets side quest in the dlc, but only one. I wanted to know if it's possible to get all 3 in your mod. I looked in the documentation but couldn't find any part talking about it.
You can get Rowlet, Litten and Popplio as static encounters in the latter half of the wild area.

Stupid Question maybe, but how can I easily check if the Installation of the hack worked?
I'm right at the Beginning of the game, so i Cant check a Store or a evolution if the changes are present.

hello I'm trying to play crowned sword on my mod switch but it's not working I have file in the atmosphere file

At the very start of the game, Rose should say Welcome to Crowned Sword & Armored Shield in the intro. Alternatively, you should be able to check when you get into the Slumbering Weald as the 3 encounters should be Hatenna, Impidimp and Dreepy.

Make sure you've unzipped the file, and you put the 0000whatever folder in Atmosphere/Contents. The filepath on the switch should be Atmosphere/Contents/0000whatever

is there a way to activate a level cap? my pokemons keep getting stronger and the gyms are easy being like 5 levels more than the gym :/

Not within the mod itself. It may be possible to do with cheats for Sword/Shield, I'm not sure. The challenge mode I'm working on will probably mitigate those levels as the fights will be more difficult, but there will still be some level gaps due to the amount of trainers.

Hi all, I have just downloaded this and all seems to be good so far, but on the documentation it says the wild pokemon in the crown tundra should be around lv 11-ish at first whereas mine are lv 60 plus and Ive just started it. Do I need to proceed further in the crown tundra story for lvs to match mine or is there something wrong?

Hmm... No, you shouldn't have to do anything. They will all be 60 in the postgame but during the main story will not be that high. Are the other wild encounter areas loading correctly so far?? Make sure you have the right folder - Crowned Sword for Sword or Armored Shield for Shield, as the game files differ. I'd also recommend using the link from the drive as its the most up to date.

I've been playing through this mod, and I love it so far! The full, competitively-structured teams have forced me to really think about teambuilding (especially in the early gyms!), and having the DLC immediately available gives you a lot more options to work with. It's been right in the sweet spot for me, difficulty-wise--it puts up a fight, but never feels impossible.

The only thing I'd complain about: I've done two Hop battles in a row now where he has the same team, and looking over the documentation, it looks like he keeps that team for the rest of the game. The movesets are more refined, but it's always the same mons. I'd love to see some more variety. The whole point of his story is that he keeps trying different team compositions until he finally puts together everything he's learned into something that works, and varying up his teams might make all the battles against him more strategically interesting, too.

Thank you for the feedback, glad you're having a good time. Expect a much more difficult version later this year as another option.

Regarding Hop, I don't actually like that he switches his team up despite the story beats, and my ethos for him has always been the "canon trainer"; regional normal type (Dubwool), regional bird (Corviknight), regional electric (Boltund) and then 2 of the regional GFW core (Eldegoss-Drednaw-Centiskorch) with his starter; in the same way that old Blue would have Exeggutor, Gyarados, Arcanine dependant on his starter. I know that makes him a little less exciting, but its my way of making him feel like the real true rival; although, yes, his builds will change in both versions as the game progresses.

So you had a vision, you made a decision, and you're sticking to it. I can respect that! And I'm already seeing how the battles play out differently as Hop keeps working on his builds--Normal Gem Giga Impact Dubwool certainly caught me off guard the first time it happened.

Is there a way to install this on an emulator (Citron)? Kinda worried about modding my own switch.

I'm not sure as I don't use that emulator, but if that emulator supports mods, then yes you would be able to, although it could be glitchy at times.

usually you need the romfs folder I believe, which you'll find within the mod files.

Not seeing gen 4/5 starters in the wild encounters documentation. Are they not in the game, or is there some other way to obtain them besides wild encounters?

Gen 4 and 5 starters are not included in SWSH; nor are gen 2 or 6. You can't add Pokemon to these games that don't exist; this mod just makes those which do exist more available among many other things. The starters which are included (1, 3, 7, 8) can all be found in the Wild Area as one-off encounters, plus obviously the starter pokemon, a free bulbasaur/squirtle from Honey, and an alolan starter from the diglett guy - and Leon's charmander postgame.

what legendary pokemon are still exclusive?
and where is tart apple in pokemon shield for applin evolution?

Legendaries are not changed. So Zacian is sword, Zamazenta shield; plus 1 of the horses, 1 of the new regis. The DAs are as they were also but they're not the focus of the game.

EDIT: Actually there is one change. The Cosmog you get can evolve into either Solgaleo or Lunala based on time of day rather than it being exclusive.

You can get all evolution items in the centre Hammerlocke pokemart.

Okay, thanks for the reply. This was my first run through of SwSh, and didn't know that they weren't in the game, much less that you couldn't add them with mods, but it explains why the switch hacking scene is lackluster compared to the GB/GBA/DS scene.

I just finished the mod! Everything I said before still applies, and on top of that I really appreciated having early, cheap access to mints, evolution items, and ability capsules/patches - it was great having that level of customizability, especially when the gym leaders were this hard. Even the Dynamax Adventures giving me a massively overleveled Pokemon early was great for making raids easier and training up weaker mons in the early game (I didn't use it for any of the real fights). Fantastic work - thank you so much for putting this together!
