Pokémon Diamond for GBC?

I actually came across such a game way back in the time when the Game Boy Color was the newest thing...

I saw it & was excited to play a new Pokémon game, only to find out it didn't even have Pokémon in it at all!

Instead, the game had Elecmon, creatures who apparently all had cell phones & if you beat them with a Elecmon of a specific element, you'll get to call them to join in future battles.

The ones I remember are the first one you get, which looks almost identical to Sandslash, one, while the resemblance isn't as strong, is still clearly inspired by Sneasel & one with a boar head. (Can't remember clearly if it was a floating boar head or was one attached to a body just like Wheelie from Kirby games...)

I didn't get far in the game, because it kept freezing up & so I returned it & never saw it since.

I was wondering if anyone else came across this strange game that may not supposed to have ever existed...

Yes, this was real & I though it was bizarre...
Like I said, I'm not sure if it was even supposed to exist.

It's not an officially made game by Game Freak by any chance; this seems to be unofficial.

I think I've seen that in a video from somewhere lol. It looks pretty strange.

That game's part of a series called Keitai Denjū Telefang. It has some resemblance to Pokemon, but doesn't really play the same way. The series never left Japan, so those pirated versions are pretty much all we got.
