FireRed hack: Pokémon Elysium (GBA)

Spoiler: Sidequest: Bones

Also, here are a few non-spoiler tips to help ease your mind and keep an eye on some of the other side missions:

Hello again, @BlackKaiser. :)

I wanted to ask, is there a renewable source of Moon Stones in this game? (Other than hoping to get lucky with the 1/20 odds from wild Clefairy, without the aid of Compound Eyes or even Frisk.) Sun Stones, too, I suppose, though those aren't so needed in comparison to Moon Stones in this game.

Hello !

First, thank you for this amazing pokemon game! you truly captured what is a pokemon game but made it better !

I have a question and couldn't find the answer onlinen I'll ask it as a spoiler below (chapter 2) :

Hello there! Thank you very much!

Hey love the rom hack!
I'm currently on chapter 3 and just hit the game corner side quest! I sold the card already so is it now impossible to do the illusion side quest?

Just finished the game. Overall, a fun and engaging story with charming and well developed characters. It surprises me you didn't originally intend for a public release, since it feels like you spent a long time creating this world. Sure, I could complain about some of the problems caused purely by it being a firered romhack, and the mostly reused assets but they were reused well and didn't detract too much.
Great worldbuilding and attention to side content etc - I did miss a few side quests on Savahnn thanks to how quickly that story moved (and my inability to stop using uncapped fps speedup in emulators which is a personal problem). The B side was executed very well.

For the gameplay, it was quite challenging at times but not frustrating thanks to save states and speed-up. Some of it I'm not sure I'd have completed with only normal speed and saves. The
Spoiler: end game

I did give up on the ninja trials though, that first fight felt impossible but maybe I missed an obvious strategy.
Usually I'm not a fan of using legendaries in playthroughs but through this I've learned the charm of Mega Diancie, and got to use Heatran which is rare in fangames.
Pokemon selection was fine overall, I would've liked the doc to contain pokemon locations since I never found quite a few (e.g. Misdreavus) in the wild.

I loved your writing for the protagonist especially, it was very hard to feel bad about playing as them. I'm not a big fan of silent protagonists so this was refreshing for a pokemon game.
The other characters got satisfying arcs, which is impressive with so many.

I wasn't expecting the game to be so long but it always kept me engaged so the length ended up being a nice surprise rather than a drag.

Thanks for all your hard work. Hope you're proud of what you've made.

On a personal level, I love getting the chance to use (a) Legendary Pokemon in fangames/romhacks. They're Pokemon just the same, and it's always fun, to try out Pokemon you don't usually get to use during a playthrough. Many of said Pokemon game fan-projects love to give Legendary and Mythical Pokemon out like candy for the player to face, while gatekeeping them from the player until after all the game content is used up. (Every once in a blue moon, you'll come across a one that gives you a Legendary/Mythical as part of the story, or something similar. Xenoverse is an example wherein the question of "What if Cosmog was a standardly designed Pokemon the evolves into the box Legendary that you get to use as a mandatory part of your team?", which is legit fun.)

All that to say, I'm looking forward to trying out these battles, myself.

Hello! Thank you for playing the game all the way to the end and also for taking the time to write some feedback!

I'm grateful for your comments, especially the ones about the worldbuilding and the talking protagonist. From the start, I planned to make the game more like a TV series rather than following the standard Pokemon formula. That's why the protagonist has own personality rather being a projection of the player.

Yes, as you said, I had no intention of releasing the game and I only kept working for a few friends to play and to satisfy my own itch for telling a story. I only decided to release the game after getting some encouraging feedback on reddit and later polish it as much as I could, based on the feedback I received here, in this thread. I'm glad it turned out to be liked by most players even though it still lacks in many ways compared to other games.

Once again, thanks for your thoughts and the time you spent!
