I have downloaded this rom multiple times, each time it doesnt work it downloads as an imp file? Anyone know how to change this or why it wont work?

I've tried and successfully downloaded the Mediafire link. Are you sure you are unziping the file and patching the .ips file into the correct rom file ?

You still have to beat the Pokémon League to go to 4th, 5th & 6th island.
 
Is there anyway to evolve seadra in this game? I've leveled mine up to 60 with a dragon scale and no luck so far.
 
Odd. I downloaded it from the mediafire link, and when I try to patch the .ips file, I get this "Couldn't open file for reading! C:\Users\Owner\Desktop\Pokemon FR Advanced Challenge v1.12.3.ips" What on earth does this mean? Do I redownload?

Never heard of that issue. Maybe if you provide some extra info like your operative system or your patching tool we can help.
Also, maybe somebody on our Discord could help too.
 
That's the same message I'm getting..
I download it and unzip or extract like I do all my other ROMs. I took pics but I guess I can't upload them here?
 
Im trying to run your game in visual boy advance on my laptop. I just assumed I did it like my other roms, but it didnt work. I dont know about patching ips files and all that sorry if I'm not much help.

Ok, the issue is that you can't load an .ips file like it is a ROM file into Visual Boy Advance. That's not how patch files work.

You have to get a ROM of "1636 - Pokemon Fire Red (U)(Squirrels)" (it is technically ilegal to share roms or links to roms so I can't provide you with the information of were to download it).
When you have it, you use Lunar IPS and select "Apply IPS Patch". It will ask you first for an .ips file (that's the patch of the hack rom) and after that it will ask you for the rom file (that's the rom of pokemon fire red). After that, the rom file will convert into a rom file of Pokemon FR Advanced Challenge to be used with VBA, MyBoy, OpenEmu or another GBA emulators.
 
Ok I've done all of that now its just repeating the opening movie clip itll get to where I press start and when I do it starts over with. Pokemon 2004 and what not
 
Nevermind I didn't have the actual fire red u rom is why it didn't work. Thanks for all the help.

I'm running on VIsta Home Premium. Twas trying to use IPS patcher to patch the file onto a ROM when I got that error message. SO far, this is the only time I've encountered this message. I cannot use Discord, cause my OS Isn't supported, and it takes forever to do anything on it.
 
Great game. But having an issue with it not saving. Tried the usual vba fixes. It appears to work but says "save error" at the last minute. Didn't think it was that bad, used save states. Until beating the e4 resets the whole game...
