Usually I'm more active around the Strategies and Movesets forum, but I've been known to loiter around the RP section as well. I've been in many glorious RPs, and I feel like it is time to start my own. Therefore, I present…

Pokemon Johto!​

Hello there! My name is Professor Elm. There are various kinds of Pokemon in this world, and it is my job to research them all! I always need all the help I can get, and that's where all of you new trainers will come into play! Here I have various Pokemon to give to beginning trainers, along with Pokedex's. You will use your Pokemon and Pokedex to record data on all of the Pokemon you can find in the region of Johto! You will each be given a Pokemon to start your journey with, along with your Pokedex and five Pokeballs. You will use these to catch Pokemon on your journey. Along the way, you will be able to challenge various gyms. Collect all eight of the badges and you will be able to compete in the Pokemon League! Be careful on your journey, new trainers. There is a crime syndicate growing in numbers in Johto called Team Rocket. They will try to steal your Pokemon, as well as other trainers. They are a dangerous bunch, and need to be stopped.

Now, I know you all want to be a Pokemon Master, and that's where you can assist me. By defeating the eight gyms and ascending into the Pokemon League, you will discover new Pokemon for my research. By recording that data, you can be a great help to me! Team Rocket will pursuit you though, so stopping them will both be an asset to me, and to your safety. Good luck!


Rules
Because we all love them!

1. First and foremost, follow all of Pokecommunity's rules!
2. No god-modding or bunnying. These will both receive a warning, then a removal from the RP.
3. Legendary Pokemon will not be allowed in this RP.
4. Shiny Pokemon can ONLY be obtained via a trainer capture. This post will HAVE to be superb in every shape and form for the capture to succeed.
5. This RP will take place in CHAPTER FORM. Therefore, you will have to fulfill the requirements of the chapter, but as long as your task is completed, you will be free to do whatever you so please (Within reason, of course).
6. If you don't have literacy, don't bother joining. Grammar is important, as is proper spelling. Take the time to spell check your work ahead of time. My suggestion would be to type your post in Microsoft Word or some other word-publishing program, then copying and pasting it to Pokecommunity.
7. To make sure you have read the rules, please put Jirachi is hax at the end of your sign-up.
8. Be original with your character! Simply replicating a character from the anime, games, or manga is prohibited.
9. Respect me and your fellow RPers.
10. Until the OOC thread is up, avoid putting OOC posts alone. If you must, either PM/VM me the question or put it into an IC post.

Name: Cyan Culler

Age: 16

Gender: Male

Appearance: Cyan has light brown hair, keeps it flat, is pretty thick but keeps it short, except for his fringe, which reaches his eyes. Wears glasses due to short sightedness.
He has a yellow shirt with a '+' and '-' pattern (Think Plusle and Minun) and wears a blue overcoat.
He also wears jeans with a wavy blue pattern, similar to Lucario's Aura, and white trainers with a black stripe going through the middle.
On the journey, he takes a single strapped Blue bag to carry his items, and a light blue belt for carrying Pokeballs.

Personality: Cyan can be sarcastic in any situation, even when in trouble or even danger, assuming he'll survive. He can come off as arrogant and rude, but he will help just about anyone in trouble, and won't ask for anything back (Although he won't reject offers of a reward of sorts) and really cares for those he considers friends, Pokemon or otherwise.
He has a tendency to show off his knowledge for Pokemon and their evolutions. If he wins or loses the battle, he won't brag or rage about it, unless he absolutely hates the opposing trainer.

History: Cyan wasn't interested in becoming a Pokemon master until he was eight, when his mother brought him to a Pokemon circus taking place in Violet City. There, he was awed by a Pokemon battle between an Eevee and a Machop. Since then, he devoted his time to studying Pokemon. He researched many things about Pokemon, there habitats, attacks, strengh's, weaknesses, common personality's... This made everyone view him as a loser and a nerd, causing him to become more sarcastic and arrogant than he usually would be. He passed many tests in school with fairly high marks (Nothing spectacular) and specialising in Evolution, and causing him to be interested in the Pokemon Eevee.

@Roxas: I'm sorry, but your SU is Denied. All together it is too short for the choice of Eevee. For that list your SU must be above the threshold for one of the original three. If you can beef it up, however, I will definitely consider it :)

Name: Jen Keil


Age: 17


Gender: Female

Appearance: Jen has small cut hair that only reaches the top of her neck. She spikes her hair and looks a lot like a boy. She has a single bar piercing on her left ear that she got without her parents permission and has loved it ever since, though it did get infected a few times because she did it herself. Jen always wears normal blue jeans, a black and gray striped long sleeved shirt and black converse shoes. Around her neck is a simple silver chain necklace that she constantly wears, along with the dog tags of her deceased older brother. He was always her favorite and taught her how to be a fighter. Aside from that she keeps a black jacket in her black backpack that she always carries around because she is constantly picking things up from the ground: coins, shells, sparkly things... ​

Because of this, said shiny items can be seen dropping from her bag on occasion from bulging pockets that just seem to hold too much, even if the items are pure crap. In many ways, she has the characteristics of a Murkrow, and if someone said that to her, she'd be pretty amused and wonder what it is exactly that you're smoking. When it gets cold, she'll trade her long sleeved shirt for a much warmer black sleeved shirt that's a bit on the heavy side to keep her warm. While she doesn't mind the cold that much, if she could avoid it and go near a hundred degree climate area, she'll head over there. Atop that black long sleeved shirt (if its cold enough) is another jacket that she'll bundle up in.

Personality: Jen is one tough cookie. Having had grown up with five brothers total and being the only girl puts you in that sort of position. She constantly likes to wrestle and have mock fights, even going so far as to wrestle a stray Mightyena that walked into her backyeard. The two had fallen in love with each other, but sadly Jen had to let it go. Jen can be pretty cheerful. In fact, she is almost happy all the time and rarely shows any anger unless for a just cause like against abuse, unfair laws and anything against her belief's or when she gets into a fight with one of her brothers. Jen hides her tears, which really doesn't matter since she doesn't cry all that often. When she falls and hurts herself, she takes it, unless its as bad as a broken bone, but unless a drama show is on that really affects her, she will cry silently.

As Jen grew up being the only girl in the family, with five brothers to boot, she has the tendency to act a bit too tough, thinking she has to prove herself. She doesn't like to be coddled, and no matter how tough a girl can be, there is always that unsaid boundary between a girl and boy, which is sad, because she doesn't know that many girls who have an adventure bone in them. She hates make-up, dresses and all sorts of girly things, which is in fact the total opposite of the girls she does know from school. Its regretful too, as sometimes her father will take the boys out for just a boys night out, which involves crazy stunt shows on the rare occassion, and Jen absolutely loves that sort of stuff. Don't get it wrong, Jen's father loves her and always has time for his 'baby girl', but that's just the problem, she loathes being considered 'daddy's little girl' or 'daddy's princess'. While it may be the same for all girls, Jen still feels like she has to prove herself to be as tough as a boy, which is exactly why she will dress and act as one.

History: Jen grew up with five brothers, but was the third oldest. Her oldest brother, and favorite, Jarrett, died while serving in the army. He was a great soldier and pokemon trainer. His best pokemon, Skarmory, went down fighting with him. Jen now keeps his dog tags for herself. That was the first time she had ever cried so openly. When she held Jarrett's dog tags while they buried his ashes, along with his Skarmory's into the same grave, she vowed that she would make him proud. Her brother had wanted to become a pokemon trainer after the army, but Jen sometimes doubted he really would. Her brother loved serving too much, and she knew he would have been great, and that is why she vowed to protect his memory. With that vow, she placed the dog tags around her neck and has never taken them off since, even when showering or sleeping.


Jade's second oldest, Bobby, is a bit of a study nerd, and doesn't fight all that often, which sucks because when he does wrestle he's incredibly good at it. Jade's younger brother's, Mark and Owen, are only a year apart, Mark being the oldest and being one year younger than Jen. Aside from Jarrett, who is three years older than Bobby, they are all a year apart. Their family is close, but when news of Jarrett's death reached their ears, they were never the same again and closed off one another, and even till this day they aren't the same. That's why Jade wants to go on a pokemon journey, to get away from it all. She loves her family, but there is only so much one can take in a sad environment.

Starter: I know Cyndaquil is reserved, but if that person doesn't get their SU up in time I would like it. If not, then Totodile.

Jet sighed boredly as he watched the ocean pass him with lazy churns, only occasionaly spraying him with misty water. He was currently riding on the back of his Blastoise, his very first pokemon, towards this new league he had heard of. He had to get to this shore or whatever, and turn in his pokemon for a new start. To tell the truth, he was rather happy with this. He had had bad luck with pokemon so far. His Blastoise, the one he was riding on, preferred to snooze rather than battle. He knew he should have gotten that feisty Bulbasaur when Professor Oak showed the pokemon, but his heart had been set on Squirtle, but now look where he was. With only a lazy pokemon. Heck, even this Surf was slow.

As for his other pokemon... well, Beedril was pretty much his only fighter, but the bug type suffered from schizophrenia and believed the world was out to get him. Jet was pretty sure if his pokemon wasn't so paranoid, he wouldn't have gotten so far into the finals of the League.

As for Mightyena, a rare find in Kanto, the mutt preferred being a ladies man, and more often than not Jet found a trainer happily telling him they got an egg. All those times Jet never recieved an egg... all he got was a tongue in the face from Mightyena and a cheeky grin.

Pidgeot, his fourth pokemon, was perhaps the wierdest of all. She hated battling. Heck, she even hated flying. Claimed it was because she didn't want to get dirty. The only reason she evolved was because, somehow, she gave the finishing move to a giant Rydon. The League she fought back (barely) so she wouldn't get so dirty, but would quickly groom herself.

Golbat, his batty pokemon liked to Leech Life constantly. There was no other story for this bat. He had no emotional attachments to anyone. As soon as released, he'd find a wild pokemon or opponent and suck the life out of them, thus the reason why he never evolved.

For his sixth pokmon, a Macargo, the fire snail simply moved slowly. he fought well, ate when given food and did whatever was ordered. The snail had no personality, end of story.

So, with these many screwups (even if they were they were still family), Jet was hoping for a much better start in this new region, and would you know it, he had finally landed!

"Blaa," Blastoise said with a sigh as he simply laid on the sand, waiting for his trainer to return him.

"Return," Jet muttered with a roll of his eyes. Looking around eagerly, he saw a large building next to a sign that said "South Shore". Interestedly, he entered.

"New trainer?" came a bored voice to his right, startling him.

"Er, yes," Jet said lamely, holding out his pokedex for confirmation.

The woman with drooping eyes took the device with a sigh and did all the crazy mechanical things that signed him up for the league. "Place your pokemon in the transport system," she said with the same monotone voice.

A little wary, Jet place all of his pokemon in the transporter. When the last one disappeared, a new one stood in its place. Blinking, Jet took it. "Is this one mine?"

"Yes, all yours," the woman said. "You are now free to begin your journey..." she finished off with a yawn, but Jet didn't care, he got to start over!​

Name: Jazmine Rose Torzela
Age: 15
Gender: Female

Personality: Jazmine is a "forward-moving" person. She enjoys trying new things and exploring new places. She HATES cheating and will punish those who DO cheat. She is very afraid of heights and on the downside; Jazmine can be a little (Or a lot) impatient. She is caring to those she is close with, but when it comes to evil-doers, Jazmine will put her foot down. Jazmine is an encouraging friend, and a good sport when it comes to not only battling, but other games too. She isn't very strong, but she can run fast. Jazmine is friendly towards new people, and loves to help out in almost any situation. Though, Jazmine is a little insecure due to her parents being away for so long(See History). She enjoys watching battles, as well as being in them, but her main goal is becoming the top coordinator.

Appearance: Jazmine has dark brown hair that goes down to about her chest and curls at the end. Her head is a circle shape and she has deep blue eyes. Her nose is small and centered on her head. Her lips are a pink-red color and her skin is a tanned color. She stands 5'7" and weighs 128 pounds. She wears a yellow hoodie with a pink heart on it, and dark blue jeans that cover her black and white, worn-out, tennis shoes. She wears an orange, plain, t-shirt underneath the hoodie. Lastly, Jazmine has a yellow bag that she carries on her shoulder, with the same heart on it. Most of her height comes from her long legs, and she has long arms too. At formal occasions, Jazmine wears a yellow dress that goes down to her knees, and matching yellow shoes. As an alternative outfit, Jazmine will usually wear a yellow striped tang-top, with matching yellow pants. In the cold, Jazmine wears a yellow coat, with her usual jeans, and yellow snowboots.

History: When Jazmine was young, she lived in the Kanto region, a great place for her parents, Debbie and Todd, because they were researchers. One day, about a week before Jazmine was to leave on her journey through Kanto, her parents had to leave on a research trip, promising they'd be back in a week so that Jazmine could start her journey.

Jazmine was sent to live with her grandparents in Hoenn, for a week. After a week, Jazmine's parents didn't return. Jazmine waited for another month and her parents still never returned. Jazmine waited and waited, but her parents never came. Each day, her grandma told her to keep her head up and her parents would be back. Now, three and a half years later, Jazmine was about to take the journey of her life, befriending Pokémon and exploring new places. She travelled through Hoenn, raising Pokémon, and collecting ribbons, along with her main Pokémon partner, Pyu, a Pichu.

Along her journey, Pyu accidentally swallowed a chipped off piece of Everstone, making it so she could never evolve. Jazmine met a young boy named Sam, who shared her exact birth date—July 18th. She placed second in the Grand Festival, losing to her biggest rival, Peter, who had grown up in Littleroot with her.

Now, two years after her Grand Festival loss (or win), Jazmine is taking up a new challenge. She is travelling through Johto, where she'll receive a new Pokémon from Professor Willow, along with Pyu, and make her way, collecting badges this time, through the region of Johto.

Other: I have used Jazmine before, in Pikalover10's great RP, New Hoenn. Unfortunately, we made it to Oldale town before we stopped. Jazmine is (my first) and favorite RP character. Although she REALLY met Sam(played by sasuneuchiha), and Peter in NH, and Pyu ACTUALLY swallowed the stone, most other things are exaggerated. Most of this is from the old SU, when Jazmine was 13, and I was a "un-advanced" (as if I'm "advanced" now. xD) RP'er. It was my first SU EVER. If you wish for more detail, please ask. Chapter 3: Double Trouble!/ VS Plusle and Minun

As the two walked further down the path, they noticed the trees were starting to look black, almost as if a fire had occured. "Hmmm, Pyu, look!", Jazmine said, pointing at a tree nearby.

"Pi-Pichu!", Pyu said, also bewildered.

"Let's get a better look", Jazmine said, as they walked toward the tree. "Weird" Suddenly, she heard a thumping noise. Jazmine turned to look, and was hit, with a blurred force. Jazmine fell, along with the being, and Pyu.

"Oh! I'm so sorry, are you okay!", Jazmine heard a boy's voice ask.

" Yeah, I'm fine", Jazmine replied, getting up.

"I'm so sorry, my Pokemon got hurt and I was looking for some berries. Sorry!", the boy frantically said.

" No problem, I fall all the time!", Jazmine said. "I'm Jazmine, I got my first Pokemon in Birch's lab, Pyu!"

"Cool! Me too, that's a cool Pokemon! I'm Sam", Sam replied.

"It's weird, huh. The way the Professor was stolen, right before our journey's. What Pokemon did you get?", Jazmine asked.

"Oh, me? Well, Turtwig, let's come on out!" Sam grabbed a Pokeball, and a small, turtle like Pokemon came out.

"Hey, it's so cute!", Jazmine stated, staring at the Turtwig.

"Thanks!", Sam replied, happy at the compliment.

"Let's go pitch a tent, I'll cook!", Jazmine smiled.

"That sounds great! I'm in!", Sam replied, smiling back.

The two walked down the path, coming to a wide clearing in the trees. "Here we are!", Jazmine said, taking off her bag. She bent down, and un-zipped it, pulling out a small, portable tent and some pots and pans.

"I'll pitch the tent, you cook!", Sam said, grabbing the tent. The two worked together, as the Pokemon played in the opening. Pyu kicked a small pebble around, while Turtwig tried to catch it. They went on with their playing, until Jazmine called, "Dinner!"

In a flurry of sand, pebbles, and Pokemon, everyone ran to the picnic blanket. Though no one saw, a small pebble flew up, and landed, right in Pyu's stew.

Name: Shelby Crane
Age: 14
Gender: I don't get it…what is a "gender"? Female

Appearance:
She is about 5'6", and she finds that it isn't such a bad height, even though her friends used to tease her a lot about it. Some people call her short (another joking nickname was Shorty, because of the whole height teasing thing), but she thinks it's perfectly average for a girl. Shelby has blue eyes and she wears contacts. She has glasses that she carries around with her though, incase her contacts would happen to rip or something. Shelby rarely wears her glasses, but that's basically just because they make her see worse than her contacts. Her skin is a very pale color, and sometimes people say that she is her part albino. If she ever does go out in the sun a whole lot, she burns very easily and has been trying to work on it considering she knew she was going to be travelling outside a lot. Shelby didn't think it was her fault that she didn't really like to get out and go play sports, so she really couldn't care less about that.

Shelby wears a simple T-shirt a lot of the time. However, if it's cold out or something, she might wear a jacket or hoodie that she has stored in her backpack. The sweatshirts vary in color and sizes, but the one she wears most often is a soft black one with flames running up the side. The T-shirt under the sweatshirt (if she decides on wearing one) varies in color as well, but mostly it'll either be white, red, or black. Shelby wears red a lot, because it is her favorite color. Shelby isn't one for shorts, so she mostly sticks to jeans. She always wears blue jeans that are torn at the end because they're so long (they go a little past her shoe sometimes, depending on the particular type of jeans she's wearing that day). The jeans vary in color though; some of them are lighter than others. Her shoes are black on the outside with red leopard design on the tongue and they say Scarecrow on the side in red stitching (they say that because it's her nickname, even though she hasn't been called that by anyone for quite a while).

It is almost obvious that Shelby wasn't very gifted in the sports department. She wasn't fat, but she wasn't super skinny either, leaving her at about an average build. She also never wore makeup because she just didn't want to take the time to put the "crap" on. Her hair is brown, but it has a bit of blonde in it because she got highlights. Her hair is always put up in a ponytail, because it's so long (about four or less inches above her butt) that she doesn't want it to get in her way.


Shelby doesn't have many accessories, but she does have some. She has a watch on her left wrist, a red and black bracelet on her right that she got from a friend, and obviously a hair tie because she always keeps her hair in a ponytail. The very last accessory she has is a necklace that she got from her best friend a long time ago. It was one of her most prized possessions, even though Shelby knew they probably weren't really friends anymore. The necklace has a bunch of different patterns in it, and the back of it is a blue color. She also has a backpack that she bought for her upcoming travelling that she anticipated. The backpack is a shoulder bag, just a strap that she can easily slip on and off. It holds some of her personal items such as her glasses case, her clothes, and a few special trinkets that she chose to bring with her such as a small photo that she keeps tucked inside a book so it doesn't get damaged. The body of the bag is mostly black, but the pockets on the outside and other little things are red. On the strap there are a few red clasps, which is where she plans to keep her Pokémon that she will eventually catch on her journey.

Personality:
Shelby is a generally very quiet person around people that she doesn't know. She can be very loud and energetic with friends, but otherwise she is often fairly shy and quiet. When Shelby makes friends, she becomes very attached and loyal to them, basically sticking by her friends through and through. Even if they don't like her very much, she would never go behind their backs and say snide comments about them. She finds that rude and slightly immature, something that bugs the crap out of her. Immature people and being polite to them have never been her strong point, because she does get slightly angry quickly. She won't start screaming or something; it'll just be that silent anger that tells you she's annoyed or mad.

Shelby is basically a tomboy, which also reflects on her personality. First off, she finds it dumb to worry about her appearance, which sometimes means that other girls pick on her. Shelby ignores this though, because she doesn't think it is worth being sad over. She also doesn't take any crap from anyone, basically meaning that if someone makes her mad, she isn't going to just stand there and take it. She is more of a loner, however, because of an incident she had with one of her previous friends a few years ago. Shelby doesn't like it when other people are controlling, which is something she is weary of when making friends. She doesn't trust people easily which makes things even harder, though she does enjoy Pokémon and having them as friends.

Though she never mentions it, Shelby has two fairly big fears. The first is darkness, and the second is snakes. She had just watched too many scary movies when she was a kid, and she had become very paranoid about certain things in her childhood. Snakes had never been her favorite thing, but when she was attacked by an Arbok (though she didn't know it at the time) she had an increased fear of them. She was especially fearful of the great purple snake, but would never admit it.

History:
Shelby was born and raised in the region of Johto. She had grown up mostly around her two brothers because her parents researched Pokémon in Kanto. She had picked up their traits, which basically was their fondness for Pokémon. She had always been fascinated by them, and had immediately wanted one when her eldest brother became of age and got his first Pokémon and set out on his journey. He had eventually gone on to other regions, leaving Shelby with her 2nd eldest brother.

Once time while they were going on a trip to visit her parents, Shelby and her brother had been attacked by a wild Pokémon. Shelby wasn't sure what it was, but the Pokémon had looked like a giant snake. She had feared that Pokémon ever since, and it had almost caused her to fear all Pokémon. When she learned she could go on her own journey, however, Shelby had become very excited and was ready to go.

Shelby quickly grabbed a pokeball on the desk. Then she opened it and the Pokémon inside came out in a burst of light. Shelby looked down at the little Pokémon. Cyndaquil was cautiously peering all about it, nervously inspecting things. Professor Oak was standing there with a small frown on his face. Shelby picked her backpack up and swung it over her shoulder abruptly, causing the Cyndaquil to give a startled cry and the flames on its back to pop to life. Professor Oak chuckled in a slightly nervous way and rubbed the back of his head.

"Yes…well…" he began. "This little guy is quite…shy. It will be a while before he fully trusts you."

Shelby looked back down at the little Pokémon. It had calmed down and now it was sort of trying to find a place to hide. I wonder if we'll ever be partners, she thought as she gazed down at him. Professor Oak clapped his hands, startling Cyndaquil again and almost making Shelby jump. Professor Oak decided to pretend that they hadn't just done that, and went on with what he was saying.

"I almost forgot!" He moved to some stuff on his desk and picked something up. It was a red high-tech object. He turned and handed it to her. "This is a Pokedex. I would like you to record all of the Pokémon you meet and capture on it."

Shelby took the Pokedex from Professor Oak and then turned to go. An assistant was standing in front of her. He was holding five pokeballs in his hands. "You can have these to get you started," he said. Then he rummaged in his pocket. "And a potion, just incase your Pokémon gets too badly injured." He pushed the items into her hand. She set the pokeballs on the hooks along the strap of her bag. Cyndaquil was looking up at her curiously. She glanced down at it for a second, vaguely wondering if they would ever be able to win in a battle, before looking back up to Professor Oak.

"Thanks a lot," she said earnestly. Then she turned to Cyndaquil and held up the special pokeball with a flame on it. "C'mon Cyndaquil, we need to go now." Cyndaquil looked up at her. They had a small staring match for a while. The assistant blinked. "Cyndaquil, return!" she held up the pokeball and watched the red beam of light shoot out. Cyndaquil gave a yelp and ran away. Oh no, she thought dismally. Other people were looking at her curiously. Well…this probably looks really bad, she finally got Cyndaquil in the red beam, and it got tucked safely back in his pokeball.

Shelby jogged out the door. She couldn't wait to see what new adventures would unfold in Kanto. A poster caught her eye. She skimmed it quickly. It had something to do with gym leaders in the region. Shelby quickly decided that she wanted to take the challenge and collect all of the badges. Then (as it said on the poster) she could battle in the Indigo Plateau. With a confident look on her face, she began the trek to Viridian.

Shelby strolled along the road, observing her surroundings but keeping a sharp eye out for new Pokémon to catch. It was a bright and sunny day. There was several flying type Pokémon flying over her head. She could also tell that other types of Pokémon were moving around, but she was unsure of where to begin. I heard Rattata was easy for new trainers to catch, she mused. Shelby neared a rock, and saw something on the ground. It looked almost like a bird. Shelby quickly pulled out her Pokedex and read the information. It said that it was a Pidgey; something that was easy for younger trainers to catch. Alright, now's the time to test my trainer skills, she thought. She pressed the button on Cyndaquil's pokeball. He came out in a burst of light.

"Cynda!" the little Pokémon said. It sounded a little more confident than it looked. The Pidgey was now looking over at them, but in a curious way.

"Alright Cyndaquil, use…" she paused and took a glance at her Pokedex. "Headbutt!" Cyndaquil looked at the Pidgey and then ran at it. The Pidgey flapped its wings and Cyndaquil stopped mid-run. Shelby blinked a few times. "C'mon," she muttered. The small Cyndaquil looked slightly frightened. "You can do it! Go get that Pidgey!" she urged Cyndaquil on. The Pidgey, obviously beginning to get annoyed, flew in a dive for a tackle attack at Cyndaquil. "Dodge it!"

Cyndaquil didn't hear her over the large gust of wind, and instead got hit directly by the Pidgey's beak. Cyndaquil let out a small cry, and then looked at the Pidgey angrily. The flames on its back ignited. Shelby was a bit surprised by Cyndaquil's sudden found power, but she figured it was a good thing. Now's my chance to capture that Pidgey, Shelby thought, taking advantage of Cyndaquil's anger. "Use Ember!"

Cyndaquil let a burst of flame erupt from its mouth. The Pidgey wasn't really paying attention, and got burned on the edge of its wing. "Nice job, Cyndaquil! Finish it off with Headbutt!" This time Cyndaquil charged right into battle. It attacked the Pidgey head on, knocking it cold. Shelby threw an empty pokeball at it. When it started to wiggle, she crossed her fingers.
