first gym battle!

As the Spinarak spun its web, Grecko found himself tied together and unable to move. "Ahhh, this is definatley not good!" Grecko said as he tried to reach for the pokeball of his Vulpix laying beside him. The Spinarak kept spinning more and more webs around Grecko but he was finaly able to tap the pokeball, releasing his Vulpix. The Vulipx looking at it's trainer being tied up used ember to burn the webs off. "OHHH thanks Vulipx" Grecko said with joy as he began to stretch.

Now looking at the Spinarak Grecko decided to capture it. "Vulpix use ember on the Spinarak!" Grecko ordered. The Vulpix sent flames surging at the little bug pokemon that just kind of ducked and took the flames. Grecko watched as the lazy pokemon just sat there and fainted from the flames. Realizing that the Spinarak would be of no use to him Grecko called back his Vulpix and headed off towards Pewter City.

After another 25 minutes of walking through the forest Grecko finaly reached Pewter City. A small man came running up to him and asked if he was a trainer. "Yes I am" Grecko answered.

"Well then i think you should come and challenge the gym leader Brock to a battle." the small man stated. "Uhhh, ok but I should probably heal my pokemon first." Grecko stated back.

He made his way to the pokemon center, healed his pokemon and than followed the odd man to the gym. "Well here ya go kid, have a good time and good luck" he said before running off. "uhh..uhh, what an weird little man" Grecko said confused as he opened the doors of the gym.

Across the gym a man stood and watched as Grecko made his way into the gym. "My name's Grecko and i'm here to challenge the gym leader" Grecko said in kind of an afraid way. "Well you've come to the right place, but what makes you think your a worthy challenger" the man asked back.

"I'm a trainer who cares for his pokemon and I believe in their skills, is that good enough for ya." Grecko reluctantly answered back. "haha, ya I suppose. My name's Brock and i'm the leader here. We can each use two pokemon and once a person's 2 faint they lose. Do you unerstand?" Brock said and asked as he tossed out a pokeball releasing his Geodude.

"Ya i gotcha!" Grecko said as he threw out his Rattata. "A Rattata?" that's and odd choice to fight a rock pokemon, but whatever floats your boat kid." Brock said laughing.
He quickly ordered his Geodude to use a tackle attack. "Rattata dodge and use bite!" Grecko ordered. The rat pokemon dodge the barley dodged the attack and than tried to bite on Geodude.

"RAAATTTTA" the pokemon yelled in pain. "Ha that was dumb, you should realize your pokemon is at quite a disadvantage. Geodude finish this with tackle!" Brock hollered. "Time for my trump card! Rattata use flame wheel!" Grecko smirked in reply to Brock's statement. The Rattata quickly engulfed itself in flames and spun into the attacking Geodude, causing it to hit the wall and fall unconcious.

"What! how does that Rattata know such a strong fire move?" Brock asked as he recalled his Geodude. "Um well im actually not sure, but it works out for me" Grecko said with a giant smile. "Well i guess so, but lets see if you can beat my Onix!" Brock yelled as his giant rock snake came out of it's pokeball and roared.

"Woah that's a big pokemon. Rattata you can handle this right!" Grecko yelled to his pokemon confidently. "RAATAA" the pokemon shouted back in agreement. Grecko ordered Rattata to use a flame wheel and as the Rattata was about to strike, Brock's Onix used wrapped and squeezed until the pokemon fainted.

"Ahhh....Rattata...Hmmph good job buddy!" Grecko exclaimed as he returned his Rattata and sent out his Vulipx. Brock saw the small pokemon and ordered his Onix to use another Wrap. "Vulpix dodge it by climbing up Onix's body to the top!" Grecko yelled instantly to his pokemon. "VULL" the pokemon shouted as it ran onto Onix's head.

"Onix get it off of there!" Brock commanded. The Onix angirly started to charge towards the wall. "Vulpix run back down!" Grecko yelled. The Onix than smacked it's head off the wall and started to fall backwards. "Now Vulpix hit it with your strongest ember!" Grecko ordered. "VULLLLLLLLLLPIIIIXXX!!!" the pokemon shotued as flames shot from it's mouth and pushed the falling Onix back towards the wall, where it once again smacked it's head and fell unconcious.

"Haha you did it Vulpix!" Grecko said as he ran and hugged his pokemon. "Well your battle tactics are impressive, it shows that even with a disadvantage your still capable of winning. And with that I give you this." Brock stated as he handed Grecko the boulder badge. "We did it Vulpix we got the boulder badge!" Grecko shouted as he and his Vulpix danced around.

After leaving the gym Grecko went and healed his pokemon. He than went to head towards Mt. Moon when a pokemon jumped up and smacked him on the head. Looking at the pokemon in pain, Grecko pulled out his pokedex to see what it was....

"Yanma, the clear wing Pokémon. It can see 360 degrees without moving its head. It won't miss prey -- even those behind it." the Pokédex explained before closing itself.

This Yanmas wings were beating violently, it wasn't happy that a human was passing through its territory. It was more of an oddball than most of the other Pokémon, it never slept and it was known for its power. This Yanma wasn't a weakling and it was most certainly going to put up a good fight against the human and his Pokémon.

"Let's try something new," Sean said, grinning. "Go, Larvitar!"

With a burst of white light, the small, green pokemon appeared. "Larv," Larvitar said lowly, blinking up at the sight of Yanma. It squared off against the angry buzzing pokemon. "Lavr!" Larvitar screamed, sand escaping from her horn and creating a Sandstorm.

Sean narrowed his eyes from the sudden attack and tried to squint through the hazy battle arena. "Larvitar, use Bite!"

Larvitar scoffed at the command as she watched the Yanma charge at her like a blur. "Ya!" Yanma cried, using its Quick Attack.

Larvitar smirked and leaned her body forward a bit, the bug pokemon flying right past her because of the Sandstorm clouding its vision. "Tar!" Larvitar barked, jumping at the Yanma and Biting down on its body.

"Ya! Ya!" Yanma screamed, flailing its body to dislodge the ground type'

"Tar," Larvitar said, a little muffled, ignoring Sean's command's.

"Larvitar, try using Leer!" Sean shouted.

"Ele," Elekid spat, looking annoyed at the small ground type.

"Tar!" Larvitar roared, still ontop of the bucking pokemon, and bringing down her open jaws on the Yanma's head.

"Yanma!" Yanma screamed as its antenna was ripped right off its head. The bug type knew it would grow back, but that wasn't the point! "Maa!" Yanma cried, dissolving into several dozen Yanma's, Larvitar sinking right through a fake one and falling to the ground.

"Lar," Larvitar said as she fell to the ground.

"Ynnn," the Double Teamed Yanma growled angrily, wincing a bit from the harsh Sandstorm. "Ya!" they all cried, charging for a Tackle attack.

"Dodge it, Larvitar!" Sean ordered.

This time, Larvitar gave a grunt of confirmation and tried diving to the side, missing one attack.

"Ya!" the Yanma had cried before disappearing, showing that it was a fake.

"Tar!" Larvitar cried out in shock, getting rammed in the side by the real one. "Tar," Larvitar grunted angrily.

"Quick, Bite it before it get's away!" Sean said hurriedly.

"Lavirt!" Larvitar snarled, chomping down on the bug before it could even get away.

"Yaay!" Yanma cried, once again bucking and jerking to get the pokemon off.

"La," Larvitar growled angrily. No one hit her without payback. "Tat!" Larvitar snarled, digging her teeth even deeper into Yanma's body.

"Maaaa!" Yanma screamed, finally losing control of itself and crashing into a tree, thanks to the Sandstorm clouding its vision. "Yaa..." Yanma groaned, falling to the ground.

"Tar," Larvitar smirked, jumping off the bug type as they began their descent to the ground. Larvitar's smirk only widened as he slammed her feet onto Yanma's back when they both landed, elicting a loud scream from the bug type.

"Ele," Elekid said approvingly.

Sean was just glad this pokemon was strong and wanted to battle so hard. "Alright, finish it, Larvitar."

"Lt," Larvitar grunted, Biting down on the fallen pokemon, knowing that was the only move she knew that could finish it off. "Tat," Larvitar grinning as the squirming pokemon finally went limp in her mouth before spitting it out.

"Good job, Larvitar," Sean said, coming up to his pokemon.

"Tar," Larvitar said lowly, giving an uncaring shrug.

Not hurt by his pokemon's coldness, Sean turned toward the distance. "Hey! I think that's Pewter City! I heard the first gym badge is there."

"Kiid!" Elekid said happily, pounding his fists together in excitement already running toward the city.

"He... hey!" Sean laughed, running to catch up to his pokemon, Larvitar behind him. "Wait up!"

And before they knew it, they had reached Pewter City.

Sentret, Female. Lonely Nature.

It was a Sentret. It looked at the trainer for a moment and let off a pathetic battle cry. This tiny Pokémon quickly bounced on its tail for a moment. It had vivid brown fur and its ears were stuck up.

The tiny Pokémon was quite territorial. It was young, but it cared about its territory outside of Mount Moon. It didn't like the fact that a trainer was attempting to go through its territory. It braced for battle and ran at the trainer, flailing its arms around patheticly.

Good application, accepted and added.

Update: People have been asking about breeding, although this is an important topic you do not need to worry about this. You cannot breed until you reach the outskirts of Cerulean City -> Vermillion City. (As seen in the games)

OOC: How do we know what moves the wild Pokemon have? Do we just use our common knowledge and use a level template i.e. I pretend it's Lv 10 and use all the moves a normal Lv 10 of that Pokemon would have?

It was a bright day and Harry was sleeping in his bed, he was out like a log, normally he wouldn't of set an alarm, but today he had, as he was going to receive his first Pokemon, the alarm was almost ready, then sudden;y, BRIIIINNG BRIIIINNG.

" What, where how "? Harry wondered as the noise shocked him into falling out of his bed. He then remembered today was the day he became a Pokemon trainer. He chucked his normal clothes, he tightened his belt and made his way downstairs, he noticed his grandfather sitting at the table, sipping at his coffee.

" Hello kiddo, I envy you ". Harry looked back at his Grandad, obviously confused.

" Huh, what do you mean "? Harry asked him.

" You, going on a journey with Pokemon ".

" Oh, that well I better get going ".

" Okay, but before you go heres a little present ". Harry's Grandfather placed some money in Harry's hand, he added it up to around $5000, Harry looked at his Grandfather, they both nodded, on that note Harry walked out of the kitchen and eventually the house. In a matter of time Harry had made it to Professor Gary Oak's Lab, he gently pushed the door and waited for Pr. Oak to come meet him. Oak eventually came and greeted Harry.

" Hello, you must be here to receive your first Pokemon ".

" Yup, I'm Harry and I'm going to be a Pokemon master ".

" Okay, but I only have Oddish left, will that be alright ". Gary held a Pokeball out in front of Harry.

" Yup, thanks I'll be going then ". Harry took the shiny Pokeball from gary's hand and placed it in his pocket. he began to move away.

" Wait before you go, here's a Pokedex, use it to fill me in on all the Pokemon in the world ".

" Okay then ". Harry took the Pokedex from Gary's hand and then walked out of the lab. Harry released Oddish from her Pokeball, so he could examine his new Pokemon.

" Odd Ish Odd ". A leaf like Pokemon appeared, harry then took full advantage of the Pokedex in his hand.

" Well Oddish we're going to be great pals ". Harry looked at his new Pokemon, she seemed to like him too. Harry returned Oddish to her Pokeball and he kept walking until he was in Route 1, then suddenly a something jumped out in front of Harry....

Sean was finally inside the pokemon gym, having already rushed to the pokemon center and healed his pokemon as soon as he had entered the city. He was a bit nervous, truth be told. Brock, the gym leader, was stating the rules at this very moment, and he knew the gym leader had rock type pokemon, something he wasn't strong against at the moment. At least Elekid knew Low Kick...

"...understand?" Brock asked, looking critically at Sean.

"Wha? Oh, yea! Got it!"

Brock gave him a piercing look before nodding. "Go, Geodude!"

With a burst of white light, a rock with arms appeared. "Geo!" it grunted, banging its hands to the ground. It was truly a pet rock...

"Go, Larvitar!" Sean shouted, sending out his pokemon.

With a burst of white light, Larvitar appeared. Her piercing eyes glared at Geodude. "Larv..." she said lowly.

"Let's start this off with Leer!" Sean ordered.

Eyes glowing, Larvitar gave Geodude a piercing glare, causing the rock to quiver. "Lar," Larvitar growled.

"Geodude, Rock Throw," Brock commanded

"Geo." Geodude began to grab rocks with its muscled arms and began to chuck them at Larvitar.

"Larvitar, get out of the way!" Sean called.

Larvitar scoffed at the command and actually jumped at a rock, mouth wide open. It swallowed the rock completely and landed with a smirk. "Larv."

Sean blinked in shock before remembering that Larvitar's ate rocks.

Brock gave a small smile. "It seems I have forgotten such an ability... Geodude, Tackle!"

"Larvitar, Leer!" Sean ordered.

Eyes giving a peircing glare, Geodude shook in fear, but still followed up with its Tackle and bashed Larvitar back. "Geo," Geodude grunted as it made contact.

"Tar!" Larvitar gasped as it was flung back.

"Larvitar, get a hold of yourself and use Bite!" Sean ordered.

Landing with a grunt, Larvitar gave a small grunt and charged. "Tar!" she cried, chomping down hard on Geodude.

"Geo!" Geodude cried, shaking and moving around in anger.

"Geodude, get it away from you!" Brock called to his pokemon.

"Geod!" Geodude cried back, his efforts fruitless.

"Larvitar, keep it up!" Sean called with a large grin.

"Tar!" Larvitar called back, slightly muffled. Heaving, Larvitar slammed Geodude into the ground with its mouth, giving a happy smirk as it ripped off a large chunk of Geodude's rock skin and ate it.

"Dude!" Geodude cried out in not only pain, but shock as well as it stared at the gap in its side.

"Finish it!" Sean called.

"Rock Throw! Keep it away," Brock ordered.

"Dude," Geodude said with a tearful grunt, randomly chucking rocks with its left hand while the right clutched its side.

"Larv ar arv," Larvitar said, effortlessly jumping aside at each attack. "Tar!" she cried out, Biting into the hole on Gedoude's side.

The moving rock screamed loudly with pain as it tried to bash Larvitar away with its arms. "Ge! Ge! Ge!"

"Geodude, return," Brock said quickly, as his pokemon thrashed around in pain. There was no point in allowing his pokemon to stay out if all that would happen is cause it needless pain. "Go, Onix!"

Sean blanched as a giant rock snake appeared. It was truly monstrous, especially as it looked down at him. "Larvitar, return," he said hastily, knowing its only attack, Bite, wouldn't do much. But then again… "Go, Elekid!"

With a burst of white light, the yellow plug pokemon appeared, body sparking to show off its eagerness. "Ele!"

Brock shook his head. "A poor choice."

"Types don't always determine the winner!" Sean shot back. "Elekid, Low Kick!"

"Ele!" Elekid barked, slamming his foot into Onix's side.

Brock watched as his monstrous snake roared in pain, the attack being much more powerful than he had thought. This Elekid was much stronger than he first thought. "Or perhaps I may be wrong," he admitted. "Onix, Rock Throw!"

"Oniii!" the giant rock snake roared, scooping up rock with its giant tail and began to chuck them at the electric type pokemon.

"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sean called to his pokemon.

"Ek," Elekid said with a wave. Becoming a blur, Elekid dodged each chuckled rock and laughing at the rock snake's plight, even going as far as sticking out his tongue.

"Leer!" Sean barked, interrupting his pokemon's teasing.

"Tackle!" Brock ordered.

Eyes glowing viciously, Elekid was pleased to see a shiver go through Onix's body before the giant pokemon smashed right into him, sending him flying. "Eleeee!" Elekid screamed in pain, the giant head doing a lot of damage.

"Oni," Onix grumbled, wincing as its body became paralyzed thanks to Elekid's Static ability, even if it was a rock type.

Brock muttered his apologies to his pokemon as Sean called out, "Low Kick!"

"Kiid!" Elekid snarled, eager for some payback. Running up the length of Onix's body, Elekid let loose right on the giant snake's head.

"Xiiix!" Onix cried out, the fighting move doing spectacular work to its health.

"Rock Throw!" Brock ordered quickly.

"Dodge with Quick Attack!" Sean called again.

"Ele," Elekid said with a nod, becoming a blur once more. This time, however, Onix had anticipated this, and pretty much threw rocks in every direction, so no matter which way Elekid turned, it would get hit.

"Kiid!" Elekid cried out in pain, getting thrown back by the rocks.

"Elekid, don't give in! Low Kick!"

"Rock Throw!" Brock ordered.

"Oni!" Onix cried, throwing the sharp rocks at Elekid.

Glowering, Elekid charged, body ducking and weaving as each rock came at it. "Ele… Kied!" Elekid cried, bringing down his foot once more. He could actually feel the massive shock wave go through the rock snake as he brought down his foot.

"Onniii!" Onix screamed, long body thrashing around until it finally fell to the ground, unconscious from the pain. "Nnn…"

Brock eyed his pokemon carefully before looking at an exhausted Elekid. Elekid was sitting on his butt, thick arms trying to hold him up in a sitting position while he panted heavily. Sean was by his pokemon's side, congratulating the little beast. From what he could tell, there had been no illegal drugging to the small electric type…

"Congratulations," Brock said to an excited Sean and Elekid. He couldn't help but grin back a little at the excited young trainer. "Here is your badge, signifying that you have beaten me, Brock, the gym leader of Pewter City."

"Thank you," Sean breathed, holding out the badge in awe so that both he and his Elekid could see it. "Come on, buddy," Sean said to Elekid. "Let's get out of here. We have plenty more badges to win!"

"Eleki!" Elekid barked happily, running after Sean, his horns sparking with excitement as they both ran out the gym and to quickly get healed at the pokemon center before moving on.

Sentret Mania!

As Grecko watched the little Sentret come at it with it's arms flailing through the air, he knew he could use the moment to train his Seedot. "Seedot come on out!" Grecko yelled as his playful little Seedot came out of it's pokeball.

"Seedot use Quick attack!" Grecko commanded his pokemon. The pokemon looked him for a second and than followed the orders. "SEEEEOTTT!" the pokemon yelled as it flung itself into the attacking Sentret.

"SENN!" the pokemon yelled as it flew backwards into a rock. Grecko watched as his Seedot began to roll around on the ground laughing and starring at the sky.

"Ahhhh...you really don't like to battle do you Seedot?" Grecko asked his playful pokemon. "SEE SEE SEE SEE DOOT DOT!" the pokemon began to sing as it got up and walked over to the Sentret who was looking ready to attack again.

"Sentret!" the pokemon yelled as it smacked it's tail into Seedot's face causing it to roll back into the feet of Grecko. "Seedot are you ok?" Grecko asked his little pokemon.

"WAAAAAAAAA" the pokemon shouted as it began to cry. "AHh Seedot calm down it's ok, please just get back in there and do your best." Grecko said to his pokemon as he petted it on the head and handed it a snack.

"SEE Dot" the pokemon said as it stopped crying and used another quick attack on the Sentret.

"SEENNNN" the pokemon shouted as it collapsed to the ground. "See Seedot! That was good!" Grecko exclaimed as he returned the pokemon to it's ball.

"Alright Sentret your mine! Pokeball go!" Grecko shouted out loud as he tossed a pokeball out at the Sentret.

"Hmmmph let's see what happens!" Grecko said quietly to himself as he watched the pokeball move back and fourth patiently.

Oddish

" Well Oddish we're going to be great pals ". Harry looked at his new Pokemon, she seemed to like him too. Harry returned Oddish to her Pokeball and he kept walking until he was in Route 1, then suddenly a something jumped out in front of Harry....

Igglybuff, Female. Impish Nature.

This tiny Pokémon popped out of the bushes, her eyes blazed scarlet as she let off a fierce battle cry. The battle cry would of been more fearsome if it wasn't just a random Igglybuff, though.

This tiny pink Pokémon was far from Mt. Moon, and it was obviously looking for a fight. She puffed her tiny body up and ran at the novice trainer, clenching her fist and attempting to ram it into his knee.

Also, you know what moves Pokémon have from fansites such as Serebii. I decide special moves they may know later on.

Sentret caught, added to your party. I'm not going to make two paragraphs of IC post about you capturing it since I seriously have other things to be doing.

Chapter 2_____________________________________________________

The tiny blue Pokémons fur was a vivid blue, it bounced at Ralts rapidly and performed a Bubble Attack. This attack rammed into Ralts but didn't knock her down. The little blue Pokémon was either extremely playful or extremely stupid. Either way, Kykaru knew the little blue plushie-like Pokémon wasn't weak and that it would take all of Ralts' power to weaken it.

"Ugh, what is this things problem?" thought Ralts.

"Ralts, use Confusion!" ordered Kykaru who was phased by the Azurill jumping up and down in the background with a large grin on its face.

Ralts launched her Confusion attack, the blast was intense and quick. It struck the Azurill who was too busy bouncing up and down to even notice the strike. The little blue Pokémon was knocked to the ground, she grabbed her head for a moment as Ralts' mind pierced into hers. The little blue Pokémon got back up and began to splash up and down.

"Is that... an attack?" thought Kykaru to himself as he placed his hand on his face.

Ralts was growing impatient with the Pokémon bobbing up and down, her eyes blazed scarlet red as she clenched her tiny fist. She ran at the Azurill and struck it with an Ice Punch attack. This attack didn't do much damage but it certainly knocked the little Pokémon off her feet. The little Azurill lay on the floor and then started to cry, bauling its eyes out like a little child who had just lost his favourite toy.

"Uhh... Ralts, go see if it's okay. You're the one who hit it." said Kykaru.

Ralts walked up to the tiny Polkadot Pokémon. She bent down to grab the little Pokémons hand but it bounced back up and performed a Bubble attack. This struck Ralts right in the face which angered her even more. She shot a Confusion attack at close range and then started to pummel the tiny Pokémon with her Ice Punch attack until the little Pokémon had something to cry about.

Ralts jumped back and Kykaru pulled an empty Pokéball off his belt and tossed it at the Azurill.

---

The Pokéball shook left to right for a moment and then the Azurill was locked inside. Azurill was a playful Pokémon but she hated to lose. The little Pokémon would do just about anything to snatch a win, especially when in battle.

Azurill originally came to Route 01 to look for something to eat, although she didn't expect Kykaru to be there. Her first thought was that she could play with them, she decided to show them her bubble attack which ended in failure as Ralts didn't appriciate it. Now she was locked inside a Pokéball with no means of escape from the capsule.

After successfully winning his first badge, the Boulder Badge of Pewter City, Sean had gotten his pokemon healed immediately. As excited as he was to have won such a magnificient thing, he still had his pokemon to worry about, and he knew they were extremely grateful for it. Even Larvitar, the stubborn little rock pokemon.

Right now, both Elekid and Larvitar were walking by his side as he walked down Route 3, the route right before he reached Mt. Moon. He was interested in the strange mountain, having heard that some rare pokemon and items resided in there.

Elekid, who was still hyped up about the battle, was busy scrounging around in the bushes, looking for something to battle. His horns gave off a spark every now and then in irritation each time a rustling in the bushes revealed no hidden pokemon.

"Hey, Elekid!" Sean called to his pokemon, amused by his pokemon's antics. "Although you may not have found an opponent, it looks like Larvitar did."

"Ele!?" Elekid yelped, turning in all directions in search of the ground type. HIs horns sparked even more as he saw the large pokemon. "Lele!" he barked, jumping in front of the pokemon.

It snorted in amusement but didn't deny Elekid of its wish. Letting out a guttural roar, it looked at Elekid and prepared to attack.

"And it sure looks strong," Sean said with a grin as he pulled out his pokedex to see what it was. He had never seen such a pokemon before...
