Not having issues doesn't mean everything is working as expected. Strange crashes might happen in the future, or events might glitch out.hmm i'll check it out. been using VBA since it came out, never really had any issues.
It works just like Emerald, nothing was changed in that regard. When trying to see if the starter is shiny or not. Do you have to go in battle like the original emerald or can you just see from the pokeball like some rom hacks?
Edit: Nvm finally got the starter shiny and yeah it's BATTLE only, no preview.
Yes, updates don't require new saves unless stated otherwise, which won't happen as I'm not planning on overhauling this rom hack besides bug fixing and tiny features.do 2.3.3 save files work in 2.3.4 ROMS, or no?
Also very interested to know what this might be, a sequel maybe? Also, I saw on your git, you are creating an Emerald Modern+Plus? What's the timeline for this hack and what are you looking to add?
I don't want to announce anything because it may never materialize, but it's not a sequel but a "remake" of this hack using the Expansion Engine. It may never happen because I'm too picky about what I want in my hack, and many of the stuff that I found for Modern Emerald doesn't work. Since I code for fun, I may not know how to fix them. Case in point, the challenges that this game has (randomizer, nuzlocke, etc.) can't be easily ported, and they're a main feature of my hack. Also very interested to know what this might be, a sequel maybe?
No more moves will be added.can Brave Bird be added as a move?
It's now in the Options menu.Has there been an update on turning off the PokeNav? hard to read through all the updates in chat and the only update i see in the changelog is
update 1.1
Match calls can be turned on / off. Go to POKéNAV --> CONDITION --> ALLOW MATCH CALL.
i don't see ALLOW MATCH CALL in that part of the menu
It's holding L1+R1 and then pressing A or B to flee. There are more "quick run" options in the Options menu.I'm emulating on an Android phone through Retro arch and holding L1+ R1 to flee doesn't seem to be working. As far as I can tell retro arch is receiving the inputs just fine, it just doesn't do anything.
- Maybe? I'm not good at competitive Pokémon anymore, and I've already done lots of buffs. As I said many pages ago, if someone wants a specific buff or something, just tell me and I will consider it.Actually got a few more questions that I'm curious about actually:
- Will anymore Pokemon recieve any base stat change/type change/new ability buffs?
- Will you be adding more moves? I noticed a lack of early fairy-type moves with most coverage relegated to near end game levels
- Will there be anymore new Shiny Palettes?
I'll fix most of these issues, especially the one in the Battle Pike. I absolutely forgot that in the original game you can't change the order. Thanks for the report!Hey Resetes12! FYI, I finished importing my tilesets inspired by Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to your ROM Hack. It is found in this repository here: https://github.com/lbsbezerra/pokeemerald-modern-oras
I also added a "release patch" (based on your version 2.3.3, which I plan to update soon), so people can add their legally obtained Emerald ROM and patch with these changes. How would you like to proceed on your end? You add the link to my GitHub repo, or something else, etc?
(Also, if that's ok, I would like to announce about the release of this tileset mod for your romhack in the Pokemon ROM Hacks subreddit)
And last but not least, as I'm finishing my playthrough of your romhack 100% (finally got the last Golden Symbol in the Battle Frontier, after almost 20 years since I played the original Emerald!!!), there were some bugs that I found, which I don't know if they are expected or not (if they are, that's ok, they do not stop the experience from being enjoyable IMO):
Thank you so much for Pokemon Modern Emerald, this ROM Hack is 10/10 for me!
- When I went to the Altering Cave to catch Mewtwo, I saw that I couldn't use the Escape Rope after I did the puzzle there;
- In the Party Interface, we have that shortcut to use "Select" in order to quickly switch the order of your Pokemon. When I was playing in the Battle Pike of the Battle Frontier (the place with the big Seviper), when I did this, it "glitched" and made my Mewtwo to learn Sketch for all four move slots lol (I think this was a way of the game to punish players who tried to cheat in the Battle Frontier in vanilla? Not sure though)
- When I was catching the beast trio (Entei, Raikou, Suicune), initially, I saved my Master Ball to catch Entei. I liked the cutscenes in the areas for each one of them (i.e. you need to battle them multiple times before being able to catch), but for the first instance I threw the Master Ball, I catched Entei successfully and the events kept going, so I had a duplicated Entei in my party :P (I imagine that with Raikou and Suicune the same issue happens)
- In your documentation here in the PokeCommunity post, you mentioned that Red/Leaf could appear in the Battle Frontier. I never saw them there during my playthrough (although I played in the "normal" version of Battle Frontier, not the "hard" one, so not sure if that is expected)
- I like Banette, and just realized that the Overworld Sprite for the Following Shiny Banette has an issue with the colors (instead of blue, it is yellow). I believe this is coming from the Day Night System, but I'm not sure.
- And regarding shinies, I caught a Shiny Groudon, but the color didn't reflect when he is following me. Not sure if this happens because he is one of these "Big Follower Mons", but if it is expected, that's ok from my side too.

Exp. Share is obtained in the same way as the original.I'm playing this game on mGBA on Nintendo switch lite since it's jailbreak and really enjoy playing this game a lot.
I have one question.
Where can I find Exp-share?
I didn't get any Exp-share from Devon Cop.
Modern emerald has the RNG bug from the original patched, so shiny hunting works as it does in other entries: pure luck and many soft resets.Heyo I got a quick question.
I read in the beginneling that the shiny chance is 1/8192, is shiny hunting still weird like it is in the base emerald game or is soft resetting and whatnot fine ?
With how much faster battles can become by tweaking the in-game options, I don't think I'm planning on adding more ways to speed up battles. You can already remove the sliding intro, remove text delays and remove all animations. It would take too much time to add something that can already be (mostly) done.First of all, the fact this romhack still gets updated after all those years is amazing! Every time I get an itch to replay Emerald I come here to find a lot of improvements made to something that's already the definitive "Vanilla" Emerald experience.
I was wondering if you'd consider adding sped up battles, they've been a literal game changer for romhacks, I recently played Recharged Pink with 6x speed for battles and I never had to use fast forward.
Also since debugging already allows healing your whole party anywhere, would you consider adding auto healing to the cheats options?
Either way, great work!
Also one last question, how excited are you to hear an official rendition of Pizza Mozzarella?
