Curious to bump by and ask how progress is coming along for the next release. Also, do you plan to update to the new PC box that polished Crystal has implemented?
I've been making steady progress toward finishing up the game, trying my best to avoid burnout. The next release out of me will be a proper version 1, so it may be a while. Progress can be tracked through the Github repo's dev branch.
I have no plans to implement Polished's storage system at this point.

Good luck, don't drain yourself out too much! Take care of yourself and remember, real life comes first, have a great day and good luck with the rest of development.
Okay, I lied about not releasing anything further. Here's Demo 2.05, including a number of fixes, including a fix to improper evolutions for Pokemon that evolve while leveling up and holding an item. Use beat to patch.
After having someone do a very helpful playthrough, I was able to discover a number of bugs and text errors that have gone unnoticed.
This patch is exclusively for fixes, and does not feature any new content- it would still be a good idea to save in the basement of the nearest Pokemon Center before using an existing save.
Spoiler:
Incorrect evolutions for Pokemon that can evolve while holding an item.
Pokemon that would formerly evolve via trade were not evolving via happiness.
Breeding evolved Pokemon will now correctly give the base form of that species.
Breeding Nidorina or Nidoqueen had a chance to give the player a Tauros instead of a male Nidoran.
Duplicate Endure TM in Staghorn Town replaced with Silverpowder
All drink prices adjusted, Sweet Tea and Berry Juice effects also changed.
Strength base power and Rock Smash PP increased slightly.
Raiger is now correctly listed when the Pokedex is set to A-Z mode.
Remove Stat Exp gain from battles.
Cables in Rugosa Gym now light up properly after the leader battle. Trainers will also use the correct encounter music.
Buying a Shifur Doll from the Rugosa Department Store will no longer give a Surfing Pikachu Doll.
Has this hack been completed yet ? I've got 6 badges and sorta feel like I need surf to progress. I saw in earlier posts surf wasn't available yet but was wondering if it has become available yet?

Quick question: Is the next release (or this release) contain Gym Leader rematches??? Probably because Gym Leader Murphy (the 1st gym leader) has a Lv17 Heracross on his team...
Quick question: Is the next release (or this release) contain Gym Leader rematches??? Probably because Gym Leader Murphy (the 1st gym leader) has a Lv17 Heracross on his team...
I have rematches planned for postgame.
Leaders will have different/upgraded teams when fighting them out of order. Murphy doesn't have his Heracross if you fight him first.
It's taken a lot longer than I thought it would, but I'm ready for a full 1.0 release now. The remaining Gyms, along with Elite Four, Champion, and some postgame areas have been added. There is still much more to add, but this release will provide a near-full experience.
The final 2 gyms have been added, along with the Elite Four.
After entering the Hall of Fame, each Gym Leader will offer a rematch once per day, growing stronger after each battle. The Elite Four will have expanded teams as well.
The Safari Zone has been implemented.
Doll Capsules can be bought in any Poke Mart and give the player a random doll.
Trying to use a Repel while one is already active will display the remaining steps on the old one.
Stone Edge, Freeze-Dry, Brick Break, and Body Press have been added as new moves. Freeze-Dry replaces Powder Snow, Brick Break replaces Low Kick. and Brick Break replaces Vicegrip.
Capturing every kind of Unown will unlock something special.
Number of weather turns remaining will be showed on the battle screen.
Pressing Start or Select in appropriate battles will display the current stat levels of the Opponent's or Player's Pokemon, respecitvely. It will also show the remaining turns of Reflect, Light Screen, or Safeguard if active.
If the player has failed to capture any legendary Pokemon, they will reappear after entering the Hall of Fame.
Black Sludge has been implemented, working similarly as it does in the official games.
Boss encounters will each have a unique title. Secret boss encounters have been added around the region.
Boss and Legendary Pokemon will no longer consume PP in battle.
Smeargle has access to (almost) every move as an Egg.
Bug Fixes
Spoiler:
Trying to purchase a Shifur Doll in the Department Store would also give a Surfing Pikachu Doll
The Teleport NPC's menu can now be exited with the B button.
Bonemerang now deals correct damage against Flying-types and displays the correct effectiveness text.
Corrected evolutions for Pokemon that evolved by holding an item and leveling up.
Fixed issue where evolved Pokemon would not be producing the eggs of their pre-evolutions.
Miltank now correctly gives either Tauros or Miltank eggs.
Nidorina and Nidoqueen no longer have a chance to create Tauros eggs.
Teleport and U-Turn will now function correctly in a link battle, no longer causing desyncs.
U-Turn will no longer play an extra damage sound if the user has nothing to switch into.
The enemy will have the same 33% chance of hitting itself in confusion as the player.
When trying to purchase an item from a vendor NPC, the player could receive that item without having to pay.
Some tiles in caves would not play a bumping sound when being walked into.
The stat drops from Burn or Paralysis will be properly applied if the AI sends and afflicted Pokemon back into battle.
The NPC trade for the Searion, "Wolfgang" in Staghorn Town will now be male.
Mechanical Changes
Spoiler:
The Light Ball now only boosts the damage of Raichu's special moves by 1.5x(from 2x). Pikachu still receives a 2x boost to its special moves. Neither Pokemon gets an attack boost from Light Ball anymore.
Marill and Azumarill have received the Light Buoy, which doubles the attack of each Pokemon. For Azumarill, it also deals physical damage with all of its moves.
Recoil damage has been increased to 1/2 of the total damage, instead of 1/4. The held item, Crash Helmet, reverts recoil damage to its original amount.
Extremespeed has +2 priority.
Transform has +1 priority.
Draining moves will no longer miss against a substitute, but will not heal the user.
Sunny Day and Rain Dance will fail if the respective weather is already active. This does not affect the 'Charm' items.
Parasect holding a Big Mushroom will receive halved damage.
While charging damage with Bide, the user cannot be knocked out by direct damage. Bide will always last 2 turns, and skips accuracy and type matchup checks.
Thief will deal double damage if the user is able to steal an item.
Thief's base power has been reduced to 50 to compensate.
Toxic now has its own status effect, and will no longer reset if an afflicted Pokemon switches out or if a battle ends.
Sweet Tea now only heals 5 PP.
Berry Juice heals 20 HP.
Some field moves will now require its corresponding TM to be obtained for use in the overworld.
Both players' parties will be temporarily healed to full before starting a link battle.
Trying to forfeit a link battle will require confirmation from the player.
Forfeiting a link battle will give the player ending the battle a loss. If both players forfeit, the battle will be counted as a draw.
While in Link Battles and the Battle Subway, a Pokemon's stats will be calculated as if every DV is 15. This does not affect gender, shininess, or Hidden Power type.
Foresight will now ignore accuracy checks while active. Can no longer be Baton Passed.
The Lucky Punch will now guarantee critical hits. It now affects Blissey as well as Chansey.
The Palette will give Smeargle a +2 critical hit rate(50%).
Pokemon, even those the player has caught themself, will disobey if they reach a high enough level.
Psywave and Future Sight will no longer fail against Dark-types
Burn will now halve physical damage rather than the Attack stat.

Gender is now displayed in the Pokemon menu.
The Mystery Gift girl will warn the player if the Item or Ball pockets do not have 3 open spaces each. This warning can be ignored.
Substitute has a new battle sprite.
Exp. All can be unlocked at the Pokemon League. If active, it will ignore any held Exp. Shares.
When active, the entire party will gain 50% of the total Experience.
Pokerus will cause a permanent increase to Experience gain for the infected Pokemon.
The player will only be asked to use Rock Smash once, until map reload.
Cut can be used on grass by interacting with it.
Cut no longer requires the Mysticbadge to use, it requires the player to have obtained the TM for it.
The player's Mom will match the palette of the player. For existing saves, you will need to enter and exit your room.
Focus Sash may sometimes not properly activate, and leave the holder at 0 HP, causing it to faint. Unsure of cause.
The player's mother will use the same sprite as the player. This can be fixed by entering & exiting the player's room.
Very rarely, type effectiveness will be ignored. Unsure of cause.
There may be some text errors. Please report any issues discovered.

Hearty congratulations on your hack's amajor release! I remember when the demo was release during the early quarantine period (at least in my country), can't wait to give this a spin asap! Thank you for your hard work!
Also not sure if this is intentional or not but rock smash is supposed to be TM 08 but the TM is listed as TM 38. If its ment to be 38 for this game, the text from the gym leader still says TM08 as a heads up.
