I've encountered a few potential bugs in the latest version.
- After the first Rival encounter, the Rival theme continues to play after he leaves the screen, although it does stop after you leave the area.
- Youngster Joey's Rattata starts the battle at less-than-full health. It's the only Pokemon I've encountered with this quirk.
- Every Pokemon caught has a "Hardy" nature. Natures appear to still be randomized for received Pokemon like the Mystery and Odd Eggs, Game Corner prizes, etc. (this gives me a chance to ask if the starter Pokemon are locked to a certain nature, as I seem to have always gotten an Adamant Pokemon).
- After giving a Pokemon the last Oran Berry in my bag, the Pokemon will still have the berry after using it in battle, although it is only used once in that battle. I can't reliably test this with other berries.
- Using medicine in the menu calls the name of the last Pokemon in the party rather than the Pokemon being healed. The target Pokemon is still healed regardless of the name shown.
- Is the Rival's starter Pokemon supposed to only have two moves in the Azalea encounter? The fight lasted long enough for Croconaw to exhaust Bite's PP, and after that he just used Scary Face repeatedly, even after it stopped having an effect. I found this strange, as Quilava was out and no other move was used.
- I caught an Ekans holding a Safari Ball, and another holding a Master Ball. Given that the Safari Ball isn't something that you can normally have in your bag (does it even appear in G/S/C?) and the Master Ball would be a ridiculous item to find on a Level 4 Ekans, I assume there was an item ID mix up.
- The low-HP alert seems to get interrupted and simply stop. I don't think anyone's really a fan of it, but I wasn't sure if this intended behavior.
- Breeder Julie, at the beginning of Route 34 right outside of Ilex Forest, seems to reset and challenge the player to a battle after leaving and re-entering the area.
- Weather like Sunny Day and Rain Dance, as well as abilities that take place every turn like Speed Boost (as seen on Bugsy's Yanma) occasionally trigger the damage animation on the opponent's Pokemon. No damage is dealt obviously, but the animation and sound effect are present.
- Sandshrews with Sand Veil seem to have heightened evasion without the need of a Sandstorm.
- Pikachu's battle animation doesn't play.
I'll report any more if I come across them.
