Pokémon Reborn: Synchronize

Naomi Genava

Naomi remembered her partner asking her whether they should see the battle or not. For some reason, she thought she had answered back, but once she concentrated on her memories, she realized she hasn't. In fact, she was busy watching the battle unfold before her very eyes. Both the Oshawott and Bulbasaur. Something about Joshua attracted her, although she wasn't sure what. Once they ended the battle, she turned to Jace and Amber. Her mouth opened to speak, yet her nervous habit took the best and her.

Her Treecko was speaking to the Squirtle, who seemed to be introducing himself. Naomi glanced around, her eyes flickering from person to person. Should they go or stay? Maybe they should go...maybe. She waited until either of her partners would take over, since she was an awful leader.

Jace Moral

That explains it, Jace thought. If she lives in Sootopolis it would be obviousthat I've seen her before. The thing is, Jace always traveled Hoenn, whether it be for school events forgetting things for the professor. Traveling was pretty much routine for him. It'll be nice to be traveling with someone from Hoenn, he thought, it will at least be something for me and Naomi to talk about.

Beside her, Amber started as well. She was from New Bark Town, the place where they stood, simple as that. As he was nodding to them, showing that he was listening, Amber finally let out her own Pokemon. It was a cute, little Squirtle.

Hmm, one starter from each of the beginning three groups. That wasn't planned, he thought sarcastically to Corona.

Corona let off thoughts of understanding as well, sort of like a duh to his new trainer.

Rolling his eyes, he looked to the girls as one behind him accepted the battle. Amber quickly asked if they wanted to watch or leave but already he was watching. It was a battle between an Oshawott and a Bulbasaur and he was quite interested in the battle.

The battle went on for only a short time before surprisingly, the Oshawott with the type-disadvantage won.

"Well, that was a nice battle," he said, stretching a little. "Sorry for not answering," he told Amber, "The battle just got a bit interesting before I was gonna answer." Smiling, he continued. "I guess it's time to leave."

Beside him, Corona had walked over to the other's Pokemon, wanting to get to know them as much as Jace wanted to know Naomi and Amber.

Ian Pull

Ian let Vincent sleep peacefully atop his head. He grinned to himself, thinking of them as rather cute. He turned to his two teammates. What was their names again? The girl with the Cyndaquil was uhmmm.... Helga? Hilda? Nope. Dang, I suck at names. Helena. That's it. The other guy with the Turtwig was named Dale.

"Ok, so the battle has finished. Let's try to get acquainted with each other more," Ian said to the other two. "I am Ian Pull from Blackthorn City, assistant to Professor Ivy of the Orange Islands. I study mainly Grass-types Pokemon, but I have read somethings regarding other types. Especially water-types." Ian stared at them. "So, I guess that's me in a nutshell. Tell me more of yourselves." He waited for them to answer. Vincent is still snoring peacefully.

[Gott give this RP a little bump!]

Before the others answered, their eyes were drawn to the battle unfolding in front of them. Oshawott vs. Bulbasaur, huh? The trainers seemed excited, their faces as bright as anyone else who tried battling for the first time. It was kind of sweet, almost, as Amber recalled the faces of most of the older trainers passing through on the long way to Kanto – battle weary, dulled. But to see people her age light up like a Christmas tree, squealing over how cute their new friends were… Amber couldn't help but smile.

The battle was pretty heated despite everyone's inexperience. Pokémon lunged forwards at one another, dodging each other's blows. The Oshawott was commanded to use a Tail Whip, which seemed to cause diabetes in half the girls present (Amber included). The Bulbasaur snarled back as best a cute little toad-dinosaur could, but it was in vain as a good solid tackle sent it flying back, into the sign cheerfully announcing where in fact you were if you happened to be reading it. Looking dizzy, the Bulbasaur was recalled with a smile from its trainer. The two participants acknowledged the battle in a friendly manner Amber was not quite used to (as when she usually saw battles by starting trainers, the kids that lost would often fly into a rage or start crying because THEY were meant to be the best, not them!)

Oh, right, the battle was over. Amber had been staring blankly at kind of nothing for a little bit. She twisted back around to her two partners with an apologetic giggle. Naomi stood awkwardly, eyes flicking from Amber to Jace and back again. Jace, far more relaxed, rolled his shoulders and stretched out.

"Well, that was a nice battle!" he said. He glanced at Amber. "Sorry about not answering, the battle got a bit interesting before I was gonna answer. I guess it's time to leave."

Amber shrugged at this with a smile, "No big deal. And yeah, I guess so!" She looked towards the shorter girl, who seemed a little anxious but unable to say anything. She tried to give Naomi a reassuring grin, and turned towards the Pokémon who were chatting amongst themselves. Her Squirtle (Ah, she had to give him a name soon) seemed to be pretty quiet, all things considered. He nodded now and then and, while Amber could feel some nervousness, seemed to be calmly discussing… whatever young Pokémon discuss.

"Okay, come on, you three!" she called out to them. Pokémon ceased their discussion and returned to their trainers. Her Squirtle tugged on her skirt, before raising his arms with an expectant look on his face. Amber giggled and picked him up, holding him loosely as if cradling him. The girl turned to look at the other trainers not in her group, shuffling and looking just as ready to head out. Well, it was time to start, she supposed. Cocking her head at her group in a "come on" fashion, she began walking out of the town, out of her home, and out of her old life.
