Intro
Hey, it's been a while. I'm sure nobody expected to see me again.
In my typical fashion, I've kept the development of this game well hidden. Nevertheless, this is a complete game with 8 badges, and plenty of post game content. This is not a remake of Gold and Silver, but a sequel with an entirely new story.
Fair warning – The gym leaders use items and some setup moves making this game moderately difficult, but not impossible. If you defeat all available trainers before each gym, and use a little strategy, you should be fine.

Synopsis
Travel back to the majestic lands of Johto through the perspective of a young boy or girl from Cherrygrove City on their way to becoming a great Pokémon Master!
Set 20 years after the events of Gold and Silver, you will meet many old and new characters along your journey, as well as unravel more secrets of the region. Discover a wide variety of pokémon and a brand new storyline, as your path becomes intertwined with a mysterious group calling themselves Team Phoenix, who seem hell-bent on capturing Celebi for some nefarious scheme.

Articuno/Zapdos/Moltres: All in the Whirl Islands up waterfalls in their respective areas
Celebi: After being freed from Team Phoenix, you can encounter Celebi at the shrine in either Ilex Forest or Kizu Forest
Lugia: Up the waterfall you find it in front of earlier in the Whirl Islands

A: From an old man in a house in Blackthorn. It's the one with the old woman outside. You need to defeat the 8th gym leader, and he will give you waterfall

Q: Where do you find Lugia and TM Earthquake in the Whirl Islands?
A: Go through the dive spot at the center of the islands and go straight North. You should emerge next to the top right island.
Once inside, follow the image in the spoiler below. The red path leads to Earthquake, and the blue path leads to Lugia.

Bugs
- Game freezes after falling down with Oliver in the Ruins of Alph: Fixed in v1.1 patch
- Hisuian Zorua and Hisuian Voltorb currently don't evolve. Fixed in v1.1 patch
- Galarian Weezing (maybe others too?) seems to break double battles a little (the sprites will flip around some, not game breaking, but looks funny)
- Mega evolution symbol will stay on screen after the mega pokémon has fainted sometimes. Goes away after battle, or if you view your other pokémon
- In the multi double battles, if all of your teammate's pokémon faint, it may not let you switch
- Galarian Yamask can't currently evolve to Runerigus. Fixed and re-uploaded v1.2 patch 7/3/24 (Galarian Yamask just needs to sustain 49+ damage in battle, uses max HP - current HP formula).
- Game freezes when talking to mom after first Shane battle sometimes, seems rare. Should be fixed in v1.3

Current version attached below as a zipped UPS patch. Apply to a clean Pokémon Emerald rom, Emerald (U) (TrashMan) using NUPS patcher preferably.

Will not be able to keep your old save file when switching to the 1.3 patch unfortunately.

Hey there! First of all, I just want to say that I'm really enjoying Pokémon Scorched Silver—the game has been a blast so far!

That said, I wanted to share a small piece of feedback. I discovered the Battle Nurse early on in Violet City, and while I think it's a cool feature, I noticed that there's no level cap. Since her Miltank scales to my highest-level Pokémon, it makes leveling up really easy—maybe a little too easy. I feel like having a level cap could make the game more balanced and add to the challenge.

Of course, this is just my personal experience, and I'm still having a great time playing. Thanks for all the work you've put into this—it's an awesome game!

The gold nugget thing for 1k is annoying and it's stupid I can't progress through the game unless i say yes, I refuse to say yes. Please remove it from the game or make it to where i can NO and progress through the game. This gold nugget for 1k thing has decreased the rating I had for the game. Thanks for implementing a useless annoying thing in the game. I can't even finish the game unless i agree to buying a thing in the game.

I just started playing this. Gold and silver were my favorite games. And i understand this is supposed to be an incredible game and im sure ill enjoy it a lot, i just wish it had the night and day features. It was one of my favorite aspects of the johto games. Any reason why its not on here, the clock is a thing clearly.

Maybe I´ve done something wrong, but I cant switch my pokemon around. If I click switch one pokemon switches place and the other one just flies around in a loop and you cant press any buttons and you´re stuck

Yes, you can buy ability patches and ability capsules in the Violet City supplement store, it's on the left side of town.


Sorry about that, I'll update the spreadsheet. You do need hisuian sneasel, and you can find them in the phoenix hideout at the Rage Resort.

I'm having troubles evolving my Hisuian Sneasel. It's currently daytime and I'm giving it a Razor Claw but when leveling up it does not evolve.

Just finished this recently. Wanted to leave a comment that I absolutely enjoyed this rom hack. My only complaint, and this is a minor personal one, is the lack of any reference to what happened to the old gym leaders/E4 who are no longer there since most of the gym leaders are brand new ones. Otherwise had a great time with this and recommending it to my friends

Is there any way to get Hyper Voice on H-Zoroark? Or is his best special normal-type attack Swift from the Mt.Rage tutor? I'm preparing my team for the E4 and was a bit bummed that HV isn't a TM.

Also, how did you guys find the Earthquake TM? I've had like 5 trips to the whirl islands and I can't seem to find the right path to it.

Sorry if this was already asked, but were evolutions changed? Like level decreased and how are trade evos handled? The zip file only has location for items and pokemon but I can't fine any info about other changes. Are move pools and stats unchanged?

Edit: I played through the game and the postgame and this has been one of my favorite Pokémon games ever. I'm a Johto fan at heart and I got everything I could've wanted out of a game like this!

Is there something I am missing when it comes to Piplup? I know the starters are meant to be rare, but it seems to be the only one I can't get to show up after a long time of searching. like turtwig and chimchar were both less than an hour at plus 5 speeds, but Piplup wont appear no matter what, but i have gotten like around 10 mudkips. Really appreciate you including the gen 4 starters in the wild btw, my favorite gen! Which is why no being able to get this Piplup is killing me XD
