[Sword & Shield] Pokémon Sword and Shield’s 2022 International Challenge - info needed

    I have never entered a online competition, but for the shiny galarian bird trio i would. Did anyone participate in the past weekends challenge and would be so kind to answer this for me:
    - Where do you sign up and what are the requirements?
    - Do you need a specific ranking online?
    - In which format does the competition play in (singles 3v3, 6v6, or doubles 4v4)?
    - Which Pokemon are allowed (i assume its galar+ both dlc dex, without mythicals and one restricted mon)?

    If there is already an open thread about this, i would love to be rerouted by moderator, but if not, please share what you know; i'm all buneary about any info regarding the challenge.

    Edit: One more question, is this challenge region restricted (Japan, North America, ect...)?

    Serebii specifies Japan - I see you're in Europe, did you get in? Just got Sword and Shield, wondering whether I need to urgently get Switch Online and start up my other save to get two changes at the Shiny Galarian Moltres.

    I'm in the U.S. and I was able to enter the competition today. I imagine it's a global event. The rules are provided when you sign up. If I remember right, you need a team of 4 Pokemon set at Lv. 50 for double battles. It does not matter whether you win or lose. You just need to participate in 3 battles during the event window. For Moltres, the registration ends April 14. The competition starts April 15 through April 17.

    The competition indicates 1 entry per Switch console so if you are entering with multiple profiles, be wary of any consequences (when you register yourself, the game will give you this warning notice). I am not sure how thoroughly Nintendo can check multiple entries. It's up to you if you want to risk that.

    Here are the steps to register for this event:

    1. Launch your copy of Pokemon Sword/Shield.
    2. Enter the VS menu (from your X button menu)
    3. Select the Battle Stadium option.
    4. Select the Online Competitions option.
    5. Finally, choose Participate in an Official Competition .

    Thanks! Well, 1 special Pokemon is better than 0! Pleased you don't have to win - I don't even have a gym badge yet, spent all my time catching over 50 Pokemon in the Wild Area
     
    Just for any future reference if they do these things again, I found I could enter one of each game version per console - so if you have two Sword saves, for example, you can only enter 1. But you can enter both Sword and Shield.

    Already got a win too! My team of wild-caught Route 1 / 2 Pokémon forced a rage quit as the guy was too upset by the sight of Gigantamax Magikarp!
