Hey everyone! I'm a little confused about EVs. I don't really get it how it works. I just unlocked the training in deep base before going to challenge the League in Kanto. For example I have a lvl 60 Crobat with the following stats:
- HP 190
- Attack 146
- Defense 124 (which is blue)
- Sp. Attack 115 (which is red)
- Sp. Defense 108
- Speed 191
Can anyone explain it to me please?

EV are a hidden value, so you don't see them directly. When your pokemon level up, he gains somes stats (+1 Att, +3 Speed, etc..)
EV influence the amount of stats gained when you level up. The ratio is 4EV = +1 in the corresponding stat.
For example :
- without EV, your pokemon gains +2 att when he level up
- with 4EV in Att, your pokemon will gains +3 att on this level up.
You can have a maximum of 510 EV spread on every stat but it's more useful to specialised them.
There's also a limit of 252 EV per stats.
You gain EV when you win a fight, so a pokemon just caught doesn't have EV , but if you already fought with your pokemon, it's likely that he already had EV, maybe he's full and can't gain EV anymore.
The red and Blue number are related to the nature of your pokemon :
- Red : this stat gains 10% more when level up
- Blue : this stats gains 10% less when level up

Note: Firstly done in Spanish, has been translated by a small work team and me (Dragonsden). "Fire Red: Rocket Edition" created by Colonelsalt is a different game.
Covering the entire timeline from FireRed/LeafGreen to Gold/Silver (+3 years), experienced from the perspective of Team Rocket.
Pushing the limits of what's considered canon.
To fully develop and include the regions of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and the Sevii Islands.
INTRO:
Spoiler:
You start as a mere Grunt at Five Island Warehouse. Intending to gradually ascend within the organization by successfully completing the missions assigned by your superiors.
Your story unfolds within the same timeline as the beginning of Red and Blue's adventure. Since you'll be transferred to Kanto at a certain point, you'll have the chance to witness Red/Blue's story from the perspective of a Team Rocket member. Moreover, you'll get to see everything that happened behind the scenes (here, of course, we delve into theories), aiming for everything that occurs to be considered canonical within the original games.
Therefore, the idea of this hack is that you, as a random Rocket Grunt, can do everything in your power to reverse the classic scenario where Team Rocket and Giovanni are defeated by Red, partly seeking justice by giving a villain our player ability. This will lead to a clash between this and the canonical story (which will be maintained in this hack) that we all know.
All that being said is, albeit a percentage, only the initial part of our adventure (KANTO), as we'll also journey to Sevii, Johto..., we'll see some of the biggest projects that Team Rocket had, with a good portion of the game dedicated to revealing several secrets and theories that many of us may have suspected but were never confirmed, in addition to experiencing events such as the collapse of Lavender Tower, the construction of the train tracks, etc.
FEATURES:
Spoiler:
Physical/Special split system from 4th gen.
Replaceable HMs and unlimited TMs.
Pokémon, moves, and items up to 8th gen (some from 9th).
Up to ¥99,000,000 as new money limit (Team Rocket pays well).
Quick EV train system ( ¥3000 per Vitamin, and allows the use up to 250 Evs).
Indoor running activated.
Trade evolution system removed, allowing all Pokémon to evolve by level or other methods (document within the download indicates all changes).
Slight modification to Base Stats and types of some Pokémon: Affecting only a few Pokémon and will be quite light, making them, in my opinion, more coherent with what they should be as Pokémon, and in other cases coherent with their role within this hack (document within the download indicates all changes).
New Pokémon (Rocket experiments, unique Pokémon...) with lore that explains their presence within the canon.
PARTICULAR GAME FEATURES:
Spoiler:
Experience the true face of the Kanto region: Discover the reality behind each character once Red disappears from the scene, and the various conflicts and interests within the region, as well as the actual situation in Kanto.
Hierarchical system within Team Rocket. You will ascend as you complete missions, and your appearance will change accordingly.
Currently around 70 hours of gameplay (30-35 Kanto, 12-18 Sevii, 22-25 Johto).
Customized music for most important battles, as well as for numerous unexplored areas in FireRed.
A lot of optional events and sidequests aimed at enriching your role as a Rocket recruit while obtaining unique items and Pokémon.
Countless new maps covering unexplored areas in the original games.
What's in the current download? Game projection for the coming months:
The current download includes the content of Kanto, Sevii and Johto arc. That's season 1, 2 and 3 of this game.
Today, there are five seasons in Spanish (DLC and Hoenn). So, next english release is the 'DLC arc'.
Main content of this DLC is living the transition from FR/LG events to HG/SS events (lavender radio tower, goldenrod-saffron railways, cinnabar eruption...) before entering Hoenn.
Thanks to Kakarotto, not only for helping me implement mechanics like the IV modifier, the overworld change upon promotion, acting as an impromptu tester, or the hard work, alongside Annatar, of inserting the entire Johto map along with its fly and healing spots, thus giving a greater impression of being truly in a new region, but especially for believing in this project and its potential practically more than I do myself (which is already difficult).
Thanks to KevinXDE and Polar for being testers; it would have been hard to find better recruits for that. They don't miss a beat, haha. Among other things, they've helped me realize that using paragraphs was (and still is) virtually non-existent in my writing style.
Thanks to Alexander Daniel and Scar™ for their countless sprites, minis, and artwork in general; I would have never included all those resources on my own.
Thanks to KevinXDE once again, for contributing his knowledge on decompilation and often paving the way during the development of the DLC, even despite his limited free time.

What is the best place to level at around lv20? I keep being under leveled every time I get to another boss fight. :/ I started playing this hack just yesterday.

Try battling every trainer available, and doing all sode quests, that helps a lot, specially when you're around levels 40~50, there's a very difficult battle when around those levels

I downloaded the patched game, but empheris isn't working… anyone else have this issue or know the solution?? This is the best rom hack I've ever played and am really looking forward to Johto! Any help would be appreciated

Try downloading the .ups file from Dragonsden's YouTube link, and patching yourself, the patched game you downloaded is probably an old version, where the ephemeris mode didn't work

Sorry I wasn't clear, this is the process I followed. Downloaded the dragons den zip, patched trash man emerald with the dragons den ups and then opened that patched rom in delta.
Yeah really strange. It's gotta be something with the file because it's the same thing on every gba emulator I try.
I mean I could try starting all over but I'm a little afraid of losing my save file and doing all of that if the file isn't correct and I can't continue to Johto. Thanks for replying I'll keep trying to figure it out
Where do I get an amulet coin, I've used emepheris to start I johto, but I can't buy the amulet coin in deep rocket base anymore and I can't battle the aid anymore, so where do I get it?
This game is incredibly hard. I'm not even sure how I"m supposed to be able to handle this. Opponents don't even seem to follow normal rules, like Red having his charizard use blast burn every single turn. When I barely scraped by against Red just to have Lance come battle me again with a level 70 team including legends... I would have thought it was hilarious if I hadn't worked so hard to get here.
Just started from the start of Kanto and have played through that, now completed Sevii Islands but am wondering how to start the next Johto part as Giovanni or Archer arent prompting me to do anything?
