Pokémon - An Echo Of An Island

Welcome to the world of Pokémon. A world filled with amazing creatures in all different shapes and sizes. However, there are many undiscovered regions in the world. One of these being the region of Tolan. A beautiful region to look down at from a plane or to glance at from a boat. But a dangerous region to land on, due to the dark secrets and the blood thirsty Pokémon that call the region home. This is where you are ship wrecked.​

Arriving At Tolan

Professor Oak, one of the greatest Pokémon Professors to ever live, was the man whom was informed of the discovery of this island. However, not having the spare time to travel to the island himself, he arranged a trip for a group of lucky students to travel to the island for free on his ship, the S.S. Oak, and be the first non-local humans to step foot upon its sandy beach. But things did not go as planned. Upon arriving near the island, a giant volcanic eruption took place. Lava ran down the sides of the volcano burning all life and thick black smoke choked the locals of the region. Volcanic bombs then flew into the air, smashing into the unsuspecting ship. As it began to sink. The students were forced to evacuate to Tolan.​

The Rules Of The RP

Rule One: You are not a Superhero. I understand this is a very dramatic story, but this does not give you permission to make your character indestructible with no flaws.
Rule Two: You are not God. Please do not add major random plot twist which contradict or change the main story too much. It confuses all the RPers.
Rule Three: You do not have unlimited Pokéballs. Well you do, but do not use this as an excuse to constantly try to capture Pokémon. Only try to have six Pokémon. And if you want another one then PM me and I will think about it.​

Signing Up To Join

Sign-Ups for the Roleplay are closed as of now unfortunately. This is due to the fact that all the Starters have been taken. However check back because we will have additional slots opening when we introduce a forest with the Hoenn and Sinnoh Pokémon. At that point 6 slots will become available.

The Story So Far

Chapter One: The Students are asleep on a peaceful onboard the S.S. Oak, they are close to the island of Tolan and are estimated to arrive there at 6.00am. However with the eruption of a Volcano, the Students awake terrified. To find a Volcanic rock about to smash into the ship. This causes the mechanics in the ship to malfunction and the ship to begin to sink. The only way to surrive was to evacuate the boat and head for the island.


Chapter Two: Once arriving at the island the Students must get off the beach to avoid being killed by the lava flowing down the volcano. As they flee to the nearest forest. They find themselves in Lost Leaf Forest, a forest known to the locals as being notorious for having blood thirsty Pokémon who will kill humans. The Students then have to survive a night in the dark hostile forest.


Chapter Three: It is confirmed the cause of the volcano. And a message is sent to all the Students via an announcement made by a nearby city. The cause of the eruption is said to be due to an Earthquake, and due to this a Tsunami has been brewing in the sea and is now headed to the forest. The Students then have to head North to flee to a nearby town. As the tsunami rapidly approaches them.


Chapter Four: As the Students arrive at a city known as Pride City they enter merrily through a large golden gate. An ancient wall fifty feet tall surrounds the City protecting it from the harsh lava flow and Tsunami. However, when the Students try to leave the City, they are met by a shower of bullets from armed guards stood in towers, they are told they must stay in the city of be executed. The Students have to think of a way to escape.

Chapter Five: With a Stone Tablet revealing a dark story to the Students about Mount Moltres and the Legendary Bird that lies there, the Students discover that they are due to be sacrificed to Moltres to furfill a debt that the locals owe to the creature. Now knowing that guns are aimed at them and with the only potential escape, travelling through the cave, which leads to Mount Moltres, the Students have to make a plan to leave Pride City, before they are sacrificed to the blood thirsty creature.

Biography: Alita was born on the Island of Tolan, but after a flood hit, she got washed away to Dewford Beach in Hoenn at the age of 7. She got taken in by a friendly family, the Espinozas. They treated her very warmly. She told them about the Island and her memories of it. She told them of the beautiful tropical beaches and oceans. She told them of the warm and friendly locals and the beautiful views. She also described the pleasant traditions that the people of Tolan celebrated, such as their kickball games, and the Annual Surfing Competition, and the Tolan Pokemon Elite Trainer Conference (TPETC). She was not greedy during her 3 years of hospitality off the island. She only ate what she needed and only bought what she needed with the money of her family. With her old surfboard, she went to the waves constantly. She made a few friends, such as Doncia Vargas, Ernesta Rivera, Gracia Ruiz, and Jessenia Jimenez. She met her arch-enemy there, also. Her name was Melania Gutierrez. She had a really dark and evil personality, unlike Alita, with a positive, fierce, and generous personality. Her best friend, Jessenia, had a calm and protecting personality, yet she is optimistic and athletic. She also learned to swim. She obtained her education at Hoenn Ultimate Pokemon Trainers Academy (HUPTA), on the Hoenn island Valencion. She was extremely smart and elite in her academics. For her 3 years of training, her overall averages were 99, 99, and 100, respectively. The Espinozas were very impressed, so they gave her a Tropius that their father had caught while training. Prior to facing the second Hoenn Gym in Dewford, she captured a Carvahna. She defeated Brawly single-handedly with that sole Carvahna, which evolved into a Sharpedo after the battle. After that gym battle, she met her current rival...


It is 1:32 EST so I want to get outside and live a nice, healthy lifestyle, so I will finish this later... Alita is out... for now...

Height: Around 6 feet.
Appearence: Melinda has a dark tan with some muscles and serious oval face. Her hair is long and black and Melinda usually has it up in a pony tail with a blue shrunchie to keep it away from her face. She also has dark, stormy blue eyes. Melinda wears a white tank-top with a blue long trench coat. She also wears white shorts with white shoes that have blue circles on them. Melinda has blue, fingerless gloves on her hands and a Dragonair shaped choker.

Biography: Melinda was born and raised on the Island of Tolan. From an early age she had an interest in dragon type Pokemon and had always wanted to train one. At the age of 8 her father, after coming back from a long journey, gave her a Dratini that he won in the Kanto region, though he never told her how he won it. Melinda immediately started to train with her newly gained Dratini and the two worked very well together. She obtained a Pokeball when she went with her family on a trip to the Kanto region. The 12 year girl at the time caught a Horsea with it during a swim. With her two Pokemon, Melinda proved to be a very capable trainer and strong opponent. She quickly went up the Pokemon battling ladder and soon became one of the many Gym Leaders of the Island of Tolan. For a few years she battled trainers who challenged her and helped out her area with what ever problem they had.

That was, until the volcano exploded.

Melinda, like the other locals, had no idea how this had happened or why. But it did. She has tried to help out some of the other locals, but the lava is swift and she is so slow. Melinda also knows that there is a boat with children on it and that they need help too. At the moment, Melinda feels torn. Does she stay where she was and help out the people she grew up with and had known all of her life? Does she swim out to help the innocent children she knows nothing about before they die a watery death? Or does she just flee to save her own life and forget everyone else and their problems?

Height: Even though she's classed as average, compared to everyone else she is still a shrimp!
Appearence: Sapphire has royal blue eyes which are probably the first thing you notice about her. Her hair is in thick loose ringlets that are shoulder length and look like bundle of silk. She have very pale skin and there for it constantly looks as though she is ill in some way. As for clothes, she can be found in a black skirt and a white vest top with a black denim jacket that is left open at the chest. She doesn't care what anyone thinks, and therefore wears a meowth's bell around her neck on a piece of navy ribbon, as though she was a cat.

Team: No, but if she gets bored then she might create a team boredom that plays a lot of pranks XD.
Biography: As sweet and lovely as this female may seem... it's totally not the case. Sapphire was born in Lavender town. She was the youngest of the children. Her two older brothers; Gilbert and Joshua where older than her and more experienced with life. Joshua was the oldest one and he went to take on the gym challenge at the age of 16 where Sapphire was 10 and Gilbert was 15. Joshua has never came back in contact with the family, and even though there has been countless searches and rows with the Police, there does not appear to be a sign of him anywhere. Having the oldest child disappear sent the mother into despair. With the father gone, ran away and left his wife with the kids, there was not one for he but the children. She ended up committing suicide when Sapphire was 11. This means Gilbert has been bringing up Sapphire on his own for 5 years. He also had to put up with all the creepy goings on that happens around her.
Sapphire was a very lonely child. Often picked on for having a father who ran away and left her, for having a mother who would go out on the night and do her 'night job'. Sapphire grew up very much alone with the only person by her side being Gilbert. The distressed spirits of the Pokémon tower would go to comfort the sobbing Sapphire. More and more ghosts would surround her until finally, the living could not connect with her. Gilbert thought his through and saved her from an early death. How did he do it? He used the meowth's bell she wears around her neck. When Gilbert and Sapphire were young that used to pretend they were pokémon and gilbert brought Sapphire her first real present. Pretty sad that her first present was a collar for a Pokémon but she was young and accepted it as a necklace. Gilbert used that to get through to the Older Sapphire who was surrounded in ghosts.
Odd things like ghosts getting attracted to her still happens. Gilbert says she has a negative aura and that she should try smiling more. Sapphire never wanted to go on the trip out of Kanota, but Gilbert said that she go and make friends, or he'd poke her in the backside with a sharp knife. So Sapphire ended up going in for this trip. While on this trip, a volcano erupted and put a slight dampener on the trip. Will Sapphire accept death and live with it? Will Sapphire fight against it for her life like Gilbert did? Find out in the next post of! If I get accepted! =D

And basically the roleplay will start on the ship - if you are a student or teacher. Or on the devastated island - if you are a local. And for the first chapter which will coincidentally be titled: The Devestated Region. You all just do what you want - until more chapters come up with key events. I will decide the chapters - and time will pass by and we will establish cities etc. It should turn out good - hopefully. It may seem unorganized but it will work. As the roleplay progresses each people will find they will have their own drama and issues to over come and it should be a fun RP. We will see though xD

Here's my SU, sorry, it's a bit rushed, but i think it's still good right? I'll edit it if needed :D

Name: Vanderson Maia aka Vandy

Age: 27

Height: Vandy is very tall compared to the other locals of the small island, but seems to be only slightly taller than the average person from Kanto.

Appearance: He has very dark features overall, with burnt skin, deep black eyes, and extremely white whites (of the eyes), and teeth. His faced is looks extremely hardened by the particular wilderness of the town where he's lived all his life, and his body is both buff and ripped which shows that his training regime isn't restricted to only training Pokémon.

Vandy tends to wear white loose pants and shirt in order to avoid dehydrating or burning his skin, although his shirt does tend to stay wide open revealing his strong physique starting with his eight-pack. He wears sandals for the same purpose of maintaining himself cool, and has many scars on his feet (from burning them or cutting them on the volcano). His hair is black, and he shaves his head except for a short Mr. T mohawk.

Biography: Vandy was born and raised in a small town by the foot of the volcano, and grew up to be the gym leader of this place. This town in particular is known for its amazing natural hot springs, and cool waterfalls because of its close proximity to both the volcano and the sea.

Vanderlei's gym isn't located in the friendly town though, but on the top of the volcano, where he lives his life as a hermit living off of his advise and help to his hometown as well as their charity (not that he needs it… admiration is a given when you're a gym leader). Therefore, meeting Vanderlei for battle isn't just a matter of being good with your Pokémon, but also of having good survival instincts to make it all the way up.

The eruption of the volcano did nothing to either the Gym or the town however, since the town was constructed by their ancestors in a special spot that wouldn't be flooded by the volcano's tongues (the lava), and the same applies to the Gym, although this was planned and constructed by Vandy alone.

He loves spicy food, and although he lives in isolation, he is known to sell his delicious hot sauces to people who come to see him, or use them to barter.

Extra: (Since I feel like it) His favorite thing about living in a volcano is that there's a lot of pomex or volcanic rock, and they help to get rid of calluses and fish eyes :P.

Skip to when she was 14: While traveling through route 204 in sinnoh, Alita captured a Budew, which would later become one of her three elite powerhouses. She captured 3 other Pokemon in Sinnoh. She captured a Turtwig, Lumineon, and her third powerhouse, Feebas...

Skip to 17: This was the year that she was to take her teacher proficiency exam. She was confident and on her way to HUPTA when she was stopped by the evil Team Shivero, run by her enemy, Melania Guiterrez. Melania and Alita had a very fierce battle. Alita narrowly won. The battle caused her to be late for her exam, but the teachers, fortunately, let her off the hook because of her excellence in her 3 years of academics. She ended up doing excellent on her exam, the highest ever. She got a 9875/10000.

Now: Ms. Salazar was really excited about the field trip coming up. She and her class was going to go back to her home island of Tolan. She was really excited to see the beaches, the views, and everything else. She knew the island had its dangers, such as the flood, so she only brought 3 Pokemon. She really wanted to show all the teenagers of her past life. Little did she know she'd never get the chance...

The island of Tolan looked extremely sharp and dazzling. Alita stepped off of the boat and gazed upon it in awe.

Later that night: Alita was preparing to sleep in her room on the S.S. Oak when she saw the volcano eruption...

 

[The Gaurdian]

Name: Randr Pjoearr (OLD norse Translation: Sheild a People)
Age: 48
Height: 6'3"
Appearence: Randr Is older than most people on the island at forty-eight. But even at the age he is in he is still strong yet lean. He likes to where a bandana with flames on it, A Black Leather Jaket and Kanto Defence Force (KDF) Camo-Pants and Under shirt. He still has his Dog tags and wears them for good luck. His hair is graying and right now can be called and ICE gray. He also wears black Fingerless gloves because of all the home repairs that he helps with. He also has a LOT of scars on his face.

Bastiodon (male) who is correctly named Rampart.
Gardevoir (Female) who is named Evening Star or just Evening for short.
Occupation: The odd Job here and there, Every thing from repairing houses to Subing at the schools. (Local)
Team: EX-KDF
Biography: Randrs family was once the leading Northern clans people, bringing Terror and Death to any other clan that stood in their way. But the Clan also had a strict set of rule on how to deal with the Southern Kingdoms. Soon the Two groups were working together and Clans people begain to move to the south. Randrs Family only moved to the South when he was two, And he has longed to return to the land of his people ever sense, only to hear that a Group named Team Rocket came and destroyed his familys homelands. His father gave Randr his Bastiodon, Rampart when he died last year, Rampart being nearly as old as Randr himself.

When Randr was sixteen he signed up to serve in the KDF and protect his new home from Team Rocket. After serving two years the company he was in was attacked by TR and Randr was Severly injured, after which he was Honorly Discharged.

Randr moved to the small island when he was Twenty Five, back when It was still dubed to unstable for a human Colony. But he wanted away from the "stains of nature"(Big Citys) that the major reagons had. When he first got there he chaught Evening Star when it was just a ralts. Evening showed him a cave where an old story in the olden language of his people had been written, A story telling of the moutains Destructive power of Fire, he stood there knowing that the olden Knights Magma(The old version of Team Magma) had caused the death of some of his people. Over the Next five years he worked on Building his home there, during the time he sleep in the empty shell. Slowly he got his home built just under a Ridge that would protect his house from the storms that Frequently pounded on the island. When people started to slowly make their way to the island he helped them build their houses and schools.

Slowly the One house grew to a small village under the Ridge, the village dubed Shield Ridge Village. and Randr moved quickly to help the young people that were moving to his little village and meet every one, learned names, and told storys of old to the children that played in the park.

After being hired by Oak, and old friend and Mentor of his, He stood at the dock where a Boatfull of students that he had helped fund to come to the small island of his, would be landing. Then he heard a Roar and the ground shook, He turned to see that the moutain that he thought would never erupt, Burst up in a rain of fire and smoke. The day he had been dreading for the last fifteen years, had just come... But he would stand firm, this was HIS home now.
