Sapphire was sitting in her cabin. The journey had made her feel sick, so she lay there as the waves bobbed the boat up and down. Each time it hiked up against a crashing wave, her stomach churned a little more and vomit pressed against her throat. She closed her eyes hopping that would help, but it only made things worse as she felt like she was spinning around in full circles. Suddenly something crashed into the boat. A loud roarings sound, or what only could be described as roaring could be heard through out the boat that was seeping in through the windows from the outside world. Sapphire's eyes shot open and then her head turned to the window. A volcano in the distance had erupted, and the boat was in a perfect area to get hit by the flying lumps of volcanic rock. Sapphire shuddered, and her stomach began to churn once again. She could really do with out all the hassle but knew it couldn't be avoided.
Something else, another rock most likely bashed against the boat and caused Sapphire to fall of her bed. She landed on her front, and the button of her black denim jacket dug into her chest and stomach, and she growled at the pain. The lights had flickered out. The electricity was down and it was in the middle of the night. At a time like this there was only one person she could call on... In fact he wasn't a person at all, but a good loyal and friendly Pokémon. Sapphire dipped her hand into the top pocket of the denim jacket, and pulled out a small ball. She tapped the middle of it and it grew twice it's size. She looked around the dark and rather dank room. The only light that was viewable was the stars in the sky outside, and the flames that were what seemed to be down the hall.
"..." Sapphire through the Pokéball on the ground and out popped a small orange Pokémon. There was a flame that burnt brightly on it's tail and lit up the middle of the room, so Sapphire could see her Pokémon and a little of her surroundings as well as where she should place a step. "Light." She turned to the orange Pokémon that she had named Light. No, she never named him just then, he had the name ever since Sapphire saw him. "I need you to guide the way for a while... but.." She looked down at the ground, her feet becoming soggy even through the shoes. "I'm not putting you at risk, do you think you can stay in my arms and not burn me?" The girl glared at her companion. Her eyes were sore and her face and body showed no movement and not a single expression of emotion. She was extremely terrified, but after the things she had been through, including the near death experience, she had learned that with accidents like this, it was best not to raise a panic in others and at least try to keep calm.
"Char~" The Charmander replied, hoping up and getting caught by Sapphire. She held him close in a hug and Light stuck his tail out to act as a torch. She went to place her hand on the door handle, but soon recoiled it as it burnt her hand immediately. She glared at the door while blowing on her hand.
"F-... Damn." She avoided swearing, not being a fan of using such language, but the heat of the moment was getting to her and her face wrinkled up with concern. She began to kick the door violently. For a while it looked like she was doing nothing to it... which was correct. She placed Light down on the bed and picked up a large metal pole that she had next to her bed. She wasn't quite sure what it was meant to be for, but it was perfect to help her out. She brought it back, and with a huge swing she smashed it into the door. The wood was scratched, and she repeated the violent swings over and over until the door was shattered into little splintered. A huge amount of water entered the cabin and Sapphire snatched up Light into her arms and ran through the water as fast as she could/. She began to sweat from all the work she had done and from the immense heat that she had to put up with.
"Char~ Char~" The Pokémon didn't seem to understand the situation and appeared to be enjoying what was going on.
"Shut it Light! You're not meant to be enjoying this!" Sapphire rushed through the water faster and faster. The more effort she put into the stamps, the more emotion was shown on her face as she was absolutely terrified of what was happening. She swooped up and under and around burning planks of wood that were in her way, or falling down as the burnt from the higher decks. When she had got out of the complete danger, she stopped for a moment and looked at a robot that approached her.
"Bugger off!" She shouted, not being a girl for new technology. She punched the metal and soon wished she hadn't. She retreated her hand and shook it frantically repeating "Ow Ow Ow Ow Ow" Over and over as Light laughed at her. She kicked the machine and battled through the thick fog of black smoke that clouded the already dark air. She coughed and coughed as she tried to escape everything. She was a girl who was constantly ill, so this was making things even more difficult for her. What could she do if anything? She got to the top deck and saw a lot of other students gathering there.
"HELP!" She shouted before falling to her knees with Light now getting rather worried.
