OOC: Now that I started school again, things have been a bit busy lately... Heh, this RPG has been going on a long time, during which many things have changed about both of my characters in this RPG (especially Lupin)... So forgive me if either of them seem to be a little different than they were at the beginning of the RPG...
Gee, time seems to be passing by more slowly than I expected...

--In the Space Plant--
T-Minus 20:05:00
The tunnel the Nightcraft was now moving through was very steep--it felt like at least a 50-degree incline. Up ahead was nothing but darkness, behind was a bunch of machine parts and the remains of the two Chaoses that had just been defeated, and around the Nightcraft was a blue glow that resulted from Umbra's telekinetic control of it.
As the Nightcraft slowly moved forward, Lupin smiled--glad that so far the Nightcraft had taken little or no damage at all. Had it been another kind of mech, maybe it would have taken more damage or, worse, been completely destroyed by this time. Anyways, in this little break between dangers, Lupin had time to reminisce about certain things. The first thing that came to his mind was when he was with a good friend of his...
Back in the Pokemon gym in Moondance Town, two people ran the gym: Lupin and some guy named Mike. Mike was a Pokemon trainer who specialized in Electric-type and mechanical Pokemon (one of his favourites being Electrode), and was good with machines in general as well. He and Lupin were pretty good friends not too long ago, in those times before Kelsey and Sabrina set foot in the gym. There were lots of fond memories of the two together. Whenever a trainer walked into the gym, for example, there were many times when they worked together in whatever battle or other competition took place in the gym challenge. Oh yes, the wonderful memory of Toadpike dancing atop Mike's Electrode then jumping up to use Petal Dance on an unsuspecting Quagsire... and at the end of the battle, Lupin and Mike chorusing "Sorry lad, no Mech Badge for you!" (No wait--actually Mike said "dude" instead of "lad". Details, details...)
Another fond memory of Lupin's times spent with Mike was the time outside of gym battles. During a lot of that time, while some of their Pokemon were wandering about the town in search of fun (Pencett usually bringing back money at the end of the day), they started working on some sort of unique aircraft--but it was meant to be a lot more than just that. The whole thing was Lupin's idea originally, and he was also the one who called it the "Haunter Nightcraft". But it was Mike who aided in the design and did most of the building. Anyways, it was a fun little project, a thing to the side...
Yes... Lupin thought, back in the present. little did we know how useful it would be right now.
<"Look, there's the end of the tunnel!"> Ninetales noted.
<"So far we're in luck,"> Umbra commented, his third eye glowing. <"The small room ahead is empty. And far up ahead, it looks like there's a tunnel that leads outside!">
"If my calculations are correct, that means we should be pretty close to our destination."
<"Hold on--that's only the good news. The bad news is that guarding the tunnel is... ... no..."> Umbra gulped at the thought.
<"Is something bothering you?"> Ninetales started to sound worried too, even though she hadn't a clue what Umbra was talking about. Meanwhile, Lupin decided that what Umbra was about to say was very important, so he let Nocturnelle out of her Pokeball again.
Umbra sighed. <"I see... four Laser Discs, a Surveillance Drone or two--ooh, those things are dangerous, and they're in the tunnel that takes us out of the next room--another Fire Chaos, and a Heavy Walker. And--a few scattered pools of concentrated energy. There are six of them, each of a different colour--but none of them are that silvery white like the one we were in earlier...">
<"Oh, I remember those,"> Nocturnelle replied. <"Good--those will be to our...">
"We can't be so sure of that," Lupin interrupted. "If the energy pools are a different colour, then they are certain to have a different effect. I surmise a more negative effect this time around."
By that time, the group was finally out of the tunnel. The sharp incline ended in a tiny storage room that was dark and empty. Another tunnel was up ahead, and an eerie red light shone from around the corner of it... Anyways, Umbra brought the Nightcraft to rest when the floor was level again. Lupin and Nocturnelle turned around to face the other two Pokemon.
<"You said there was another Fire Chaos up ahead?"> Ninetales clarified. Umbra nodded.
<"Now I'm feeling the burns from the last one... stronger than ever.">
<"I know... we've taken a lot of damage so far. So much that Toadpike got fried and Feralis and Pencett had to be left behind.">
<"But, luckily we were all healed by that energy pool from before. And other than leaving half the team behind, we did pick up Kelsey's Ninetales, despite not being able to connect to Kelsey herself. (Funny, we were before while we were fighting the Ice Chaos...) We didn't lose any other supplies, and the Nightcraft took no damage so far. None of us have died... or at least I hope not...">
"It really pains me to wonder how Toadpike is faring now... which is why I've got to keep it out of my mind for now... Anyways, what we've got to do now is figure out how to approach all these enemies at once."
<"Hey, I have an idea! You know how we dodged those Surveillance Drones before? Don't you think we can do that again?">
"Those were meteor cannons, not surveillance drones. Surveillance drones are much worse, from what I can tell. Sure, we'd all be tempted to dash through the tunnel to dodge them, but the blasts from those things are instantaneous. It's better if we just..."
Lupin looked at something in the room that gave him an idea.
"...avoid them altogether."
Lupin got out of the Nightcraft, keeping his focus on the part of the wall where he had seen that something seconds before. Then he walked towards that point, and knelt down to inspect it. He ran his hand along the surface of the walls, as if searching for something...
<"What's he doing..."> Nocturnelle whispered to the other two Pokemon. She would have asked Lupin herself, but she didn't want to break his concentration.
Lupin finally found something--a sort of dent in the wall that looked much too neat and specifically shaped to be a normal dent. So he held onto the edge of the wall through this "dent", and pulled it back. A hidden door in the wall opened to revel a smaller tunnel.
"Aha. Yes, quite sneaky indeed. This tunnel seems to lead directly to the room Umbra was indicating. Or, if we're lucky, it will pass right under the room, allowing us to avoid the Laser Discs and the Fire Chaos and... gee, Umbra, did you mention a Heavy Walker? And you didn't see this secret passageway?"
<"I wasn't... looking in that direction..."> Umbra looked surprised.
<"Haha, you're supposed to be psychic! Yet just now, Lupin saw something you didn't!"> Nocturnelle giggled quite a bit after she said this.
<"I'm not all-seeing--I just see things in a direction I so choose. But now that you mention it--hmm, Lupin's right. The tunnel does pass under the room. Then it loops around till it ends in a far corner of the room, not too far from the tunnel that will take us outside.">
<"So if we can sneak around that point, we can avoid all those robots and chaoses!">
<"Well, Lupin, does this sound like a good plan or what?">
Lupin said nothing for a while--he was deep in thought. Finally, with a somber look on his face, he turned to face his Pokemon.
"Oh sure, it's a lovely idea. But look at this room--it's in the middle of nowhere, with practically no access to the outside. Look at the pathway behind me--it's so small in places, I can barely fit through it..."
The three Pokemon said nothing--they stared at Lupin as if to say "And?"
"It's a good plan really, but you overlooked one fact. Okay, so Umbra was able to carry the Nightcraft through this steep tunnel. ...But there's absolutely no way the Nightcraft will fit through here. If we want to go this way, we'll have to leave it behind."
<"...And we'll come back for it!"> Ninetales suggested.
"And to do that, we either have to bring it back through the tunnel containing the surveillance drones, or retrace our steps all the way back to where we started."
<"Oh... hmm, and you really don't want to leave the Nightcraft behind, do you?"> Umbra noted. Apparently he had read Lupin's mind while he was reminiscing about Mike.
"Right you are..."
Lupin started to look around the room, as if seeking another way out of this dilemma. He glanced past Umbra, past Ninetales, past Nocturnelle... and then he looked back at Nocturnelle, keeping his gaze on her for a while.
"Hey wait a minute... it looks like there is a plan C..."
Just as he did while fighting the Fire Chaos, Lupin began a whispered conversation with Nocturnelle to discuss a plan. Only this time, he had a much more brilliant plan to discuss...

"Go Vaporeon!" Carmen commanded. "Use Ice Beam!"
Vaporeon started to fire an Ice Beam, but it didn't come out that well. Gardevoir was easily able to dodge it. After this failed attack, Vaporeon felt pretty tired...
"Oh, are you still tired from the last attack?" Carmen questioned, in a babyish voice. "Would you like to take a rest?"
With that, Carmen returned Vaporeon to her Pokeball.
"Go Wigglytuff!"
"Wiggly!"
"Use Hyper Voice!"
"WIGGLY!!" Wigglytuff emitted a blast consisting of powerful sound waves, which headed straight for Gardevoir. Gardevoir couldn't do a thing about this type of attack except cover her ears, which only slightly helped. She still collided with the wall behind her.
Ohh, how I wish I didn't have to fight these people... I wish I could contact Kelsey... why in the world can't I??
"Kadabra, use your Psychic attack on Gardevoir!" Diego commanded.
Now why's he doing that? He knows I'm strong against... whoa!
Gardevoir was thrown back a little by the Psychic attack, but upon this event she used her own Psychic attack to hopefully hit Kadabra instead. And just like it had been with Umbra, this was now a "battle of psychics".
"Psst, Wigglytuff, how about a little cheat?" This was the exact thing Diego said to Kadabra in the battle with Lupin, but now Carmen was saying it to Wigglytuff. So Wigglytuff started waving her hands in the air--she was using Metronome!
"Wiggly wig, tuff tuff... Wiggly wig, tuff tuff..."
Gardevoir was putting up a fairly good fight so far. Something in the back of her mind wished Kelsey could be helping her out with this attack, but she knew that Kelsey was not there now.
"Tuff!" Wigglytuff finally came up with an attack--which happened to be Psychic, the same attack the other two Pokemon were using. Carmen and Diego's jaws dropped.
So now Wigglytuff, too, was engaged in this telekinetic tug-o-war.
That Kadabra's strong enough... but with the addition of that Wigglytuff... how much longer can I keep this up?
Gardevoir was trying her best, using her strongest Psychic attack possible, pushing herself to the very limit...
Gardevoir's mind began to wander again for a moment... to Kelsey again. She remembered a few of the battles where he used a Psychic attack on someone, and Kelsey backed her up with her own telekinetic power. Gardevoir remembered how that felt--it felt like a door that was usually locked tight was opened, a door to a completely new source of power. It made her feel, for a moment, that she could change the course of the whole world with this power--even if that was not the case. She felt it even as she thought about it--that same sensation. And...
"Wiggly!!"
"Kadabraaa..."
Wigglytuff and Kadabra crashed into the walls behind them, clearly knocked out.
How in the world did I do that?!? Gardevoir thought as she looked at the two Pokemon. Kelsey didn't do it, so...
"It's not over yet!" Carmen and Diego chorused. They took out both of their pistol-ish weapons and shot what looked like nets out of them. The ties that would hold the nets in place had a sort of electrical charge to them.
Eek, get back to reality already!
Gardevoir's Magical Leaf attack tore the nets to pieces. After that, it sought to tear Carmen and Diego to pieces...
"Whoa!" Diego gasped. "Kadabra, let's retreat!"
"Kadabra..."
With the last bit of his strength, Kadabra teleported Wigglytuff, Carmen, and Diego out of the rubble-filled hallway.
Oh, I wish I could teleport like that Kadabra. That way I could reach where Lupin might be right away...
Gardevoir was relieved that this battle was over, but she sensed some other kind of danger ahead...
--Pine's Island--
T-Minus 21:35:00
Kelsey continued to walk along the path through the jungle, staying alert in case any more Trapinch robots or other obstacles stood in her way. Hypno flew above by levitating herself telekinetically, already intimidated by the Trapinch robots. Clefable flew next to her, carrying Bellossom in her arms, and Banette flew close by as well.
Fortunately, Kelsey didn't have that far to go before she reached a very large clearing in the jungle--so large, in fact, that there was a lake in the middle of it. In that lake was an island surrounded by electrical poles. Five more Trapinch robots surrounded a small group of people and a couple of Arcanine. The Arcanine had bite marks on their legs that could very well have come from these robots.
Oh--I suppose they're looking for Professor Pine too, Kelsey figured. Looks like they could use some help... if I'm in any condition to help...
Kelsey did feel kind of awkward now that her psychic powers were disabled until further notice, but there was a point in her life before she even knew she had them, and there were lots of other obstacles she had to get through, dealing with the curse she was under at the time. So Kelsey continued walking towards the group in distress. But she didn't take too many steps before another electric pole shot up from the ground. She immediately jumped to the side to dodge it, but even she wasn't fast enough to avoid the pole completely. The top of the pole collided with her leg, stunning it momentarily as Kelsey fell onto the ground a foot or two away from the pole.
Hypno was looking at Kelsey at this point, but she remembered a situation like this before where upon being hit like this, Kelsey said something like "Don't worry about me, continue doing what you were doing!" This time, Hypno decided to take Kelsey's advice early.
<"Come on, let's continue on to the island!"> Hypno commanded. <"Now isn't the time to worry about Kelsey.">
Clefable and Bellossom were hesitant to follow Hypno to the island, but Banette wasn't. The two worriers just hovered there in the air...
"Ban!" Banette fired a Shadow Ball after another at the quintet of Trapinch on the island. Occasionally the Trapinch fired Sand-Attacks at Banette, but she either dodged these or closed her eyes to avoid them. A few moments later, Clefable finally decided to turn away from Kelsey, because Bellossom was now attacking the Trapinch robots with Petal Dance. This attack didn't do much damage to the metal robots, but it did drive them back till they fell in the water.
<"Ouch!"> Clefable cried out as she ran into an electrical pole and got herself zapped. She too fell in the water. While in the water, she could see a few Trapinch robots sinking to the bottom of the lake, motionless.
Just like real Trapinch, they're weak against water, Clefable thought as she resurfaced and flew out of the water. Bellossom shook herself dry and felt rather refreshed.
<"Ahh, nothing like a nice dip in the lake on a hot day like this.">
Meanwhile, Hypno landed on the island next to the Arcanine, looking at one of the electrical poles. She thought for a moment, then used her Psychic attack on it. Immediately, the pole glowed a piercing green.
Ah, I see...
Hypno again used her Psychic attack to lift the pole out of the water, though she had to squint to keep looking at it. Then she threw it towards the far edge of the lake, where it burst into a blast of electricity. Hypno smiled and walked over to another pole, where she made to do the same thing.
For a while, Kelsey couldn't feel her leg as she sat there next to the pole. After this numbness started to go away, she stood up--and noticed a boy with red hair and dressed mostly in black, with an Absol next to him.

OOC: Whew, I knew it was unwise to start this post at around 11 PM... Lupin's part took two hours to write, Gardevoir's took one hour, and Kelsey's took a half-hour. But it was fun anyways--I couldn't help but stop and laugh.
Gee, time seems to be passing by more slowly than I expected...
