    Hello all, as you can see i am making a new pokémon game. I am quite new to the froums and RPG maker. I have made the beginning of my game and there is a demo of it at the end of this post.

    The story of my game is:
    You are a young trainer who wants to get all the badges in the world and to become the best pokémon master. You live in pallet town in the kanto region. During your quest to become a pokémon master you have tough challenges ahead of you, with time messing up through the regions its your job to find out who or what is causing time to be disturbed. Your search ends in Mt.syncron where you have to battle giratina.

    That's the story so far but there will be an update as i make the game more.
    There will be a second storyline which will happen in a new region called crysalist region it will feature a rare version of a pokémon which i will not reveal untill the main story is done.

    No, no, NO!

    I swear, this is the 26th game I've seen that wants to use all four regions!

    Just make it one region. Even THAT will take a long time.
     
    yes i know it will take along time but what i plan to do is make the game in parts e.g. part one has kanto and johto in and part two has hoenn and sinho but that plan may change as i progress with my game

    It's a moutain that i made up which is an addition to the kanto region that has a tower at the top of it that controls time, maybe i should've put that in the description
     
    And how, exactly, does it control time? Is this story set in the future? Or, is there a Pokemon involved?

    Also, if you're using a region that already exists, it doesn't exactly make sense to add in a mountain. That was the point I was trying to make.
     
    it's supposed to be based somewhere in the future. But dialga was supposed to be guarding the tower on the mountain but giratina has taken the tower over with dialga fleeing from the battle. i will not say anymore as it may ruin the suprise of what the game's stroy line will be

    You want to be a pokemon master blah blah.
    How exactly did Dialga and Giratina come from Sinnoh to Kanto?
    Whats the point of editing the Kanto region when you can make a new one?
    You don't want to ruin anymore surprises?
    There are not much surprises in the storyline anyways.
    Do you start out with pokemon or do you get a new starter pokemon and beat Giratina(Which would never ever ever happen anyway)
    I haven't even downloaded the demo yet because I know its going to be bad.
     
    Hmm...that's some harsh criticsm. I don't get what's wrong with editing the already existing regions and making them a bit larger or making a more interesting story that requires new areas. Personally I think Kanto is the most boring region and the story in it doesn't involve a legendary Pokemon (like Sinnoh). I've also added an extra mountain to my game (Mt.Fallrock) which plays a huge part in the story of the game (if you choose the one region play).

    My only concern would be: why battle Giratina already at the beginning. Doesn't it ruin the story and the suspense in the game, and if you finish the whole story in one region or even in one place, what's the point of having other regions that will have nothing to do.

    Yes I see your point. it does seem odd that there is dialga and giratina in the kanto region, I will use your criticsm and make changes such as making a new region. the region im making doesn't really look much like kanto anyway so i will edit and make it into my own region.
    with the suprises there are actually some in the game but wont be said in the story. they will apear during the story.
