I'm back and finally I've fixed my game's story. I just wrote a crapload of stuff for this earlier, took me about an hour, but the stupid token expired and I accidentally reloaded the page and erased everything. UGH. Here's the shortened summary.

    Storyline

The tropical island of Fendro is a place that nobody has ever fully explored. All that has been mapped of it is a small strip of land on the coast. A team of scientist and explorers have taken an exploration among the Source River to map out more of the region, but they haven't returned yet. Even so, the small strip of perfect beach that has been covered is bustling with tourists and the like. Still, many people set out to the island in search of the missing researchers... and never come back.

    Beginning

You are a college student with your (insert starter pick of choice), and you are relaxing on the beach. Your class is here for an exploration but you have a day to chill on the beach before the hike. You are relaxing with your friend, who has the usual starter counter. Suddenly, rockets pelt the whole entire area. In confusion, you follow your friend into a building. You two huddle into a corner as rockets strike everywhere around you. As the place collapses, you feel dizzy and start hearing strange noises.
Hours later, you awaken to the sound of struggling. Your friend, very hurt, struggles to keep uniformed men off of you. He is carried away and so are you. The little tourist resorts and beaches are in ruins. You two are shoved into a truck. Then, everything goes black.
Later, you awaken in a cell. Your friend tells you everything that he heard when they were carrying you guys away. He says that they want to get information about something from you. Unless you tell them what they want, they will keep you locked up with no food or water. He has no idea what they want, or who they are. he also says that you shouldn't tell them what they want.
A man comes into the cell. He threatens to kill you both unless you can answer his question. He asks your friend where the Space Station is located. Your friend doesn't tell him, and is slammed into the wall. He gives you one last chance to save your life and your friend's. You have to answer the question. Answer "I dont know where that is." to the question. He will try to kill your friend, but then suddenly the dizziness comes back and you start hearing the sound again. The screen goes black for a split second with a thud sound, and then comes clear. The man is knocked out. Your friend tells you that you really hit him hard, and that he looks unconscious. The screen goes black again, and this time, a smashing sound is heard. When the screen clears up, you aren't dizzy, and there's a hole in the wall. You two escape, wondering what happened. Now, the alarms are off, and you have 3 minutes to find your Pokémon and escape the camp.
You two end up in a town by the Source River. An old man, Professor Palm will talk to you. After exchanging information, you realize that this is the land where no person has gone before and survived!

I'm back Hey. and finally I've fixed my game's story Ooh, excellent.... I just wrote a crapload of stuff for this earlier, took me about an hour That's...not long xD...but good, I'm looking orward to it., but the stupid token expired and I accidentally reloaded the page and erased everything I hate it when that happens...I always tell myself to copy it and save it on the desktop temporarily, but I only do it once every few weeks or so xD....anyways.... UGH. Here's the shortened summary.

    Storyline

The tropical island of Fendro Derivation? is a place that nobody has ever fully explored So why is there a kid there? Yeah, I'm assuming here.... All that has been mapped of it is a small strip of land on the coast. A team of scientist and explorers have taken an exploration among the Source River ...why is it called that? to map out more of the region, but they haven't returned yet They ran into Team Exe =O.... Even so, the small strip of perfect beach that has been covered is bustling with tourists and the like. Still, many people set out to the island in search of the missing researchers... and never come back.

    Beginning

You are a college student ...not a kid. YES... with your (insert starter pick of choice From where? From whom? What does the person who gives it to you get out of the gift?), and you are relaxing on the beach. Your class is here for an exploration but you have a day to chill on the beach before the hike. You are relaxing with your friend, who has the usual starter counter If you consciously used the word 'usual', then you know there's something wrong here.... Suddenly, rockets pelt the whole entire area. In confusion, you follow your friend into a building. You two huddle into a corner as rockets Like, missiles? strike everywhere around you. As the place collapses, you feel dizzy and start hearing strange noises What kind? When you say noises, it's so vague that you kinda gotta explain what sorts...tone? Is it electronic?.
Hours later, you awaken to the sound of struggling. Your friend, very hurt, struggles to keep uniformed men off of you. He is carried away and so are you. The little tourist resorts and beaches are in ruins. You two are shoved into a truck. Then, everything goes black THis is going well so far....
Later, you awaken in a cell Like, the biological kind or the prison kind? I can't be sure because this IS pkmn; anything is possible (I forget who said that).... Your friend tells you everything that he heard when they were carrying you guys away. He says that they want to get information about something from you. Unless you tell them what they want, they will keep you locked up with no food or water ...this is getting dark.. He has no idea what they want, or who they are. he also says that you shouldn't tell them what they want.
A man comes into the cell. He threatens to kill you both ...definitely not G-rated anymore. unless you can answer his question. He asks your friend where the Space Station Uh-huh...if it's in space (unless it hasn't been launched yet), then how come you can't find it EASILY? is located. Your friend doesn't tell him, and is slammed into the wall. He gives you one last chance to save your life and your friend's. You have to answer the question. Answer "I dont know where that is." to the question. He will try to kill your friend, but then suddenly the dizziness comes back and you start hearing the sound again ...hm...as far as predictions go, I've got nada because the Sci-Fi-ness and drama level are unpredictable at this point.. The screen goes black for a split second with a thud sound, and then comes clear. The man is knocked out. Your friend tells you that you really hit him hard, and that he looks unconscious. The screen goes black again Oh, right...the way to sidestep not having animations. Hey, I support it...they use it in the Battle Network series xD..., and this time, a smashing sound is heard.
After exchanging information, you realize that this is the land where no person has gone before and survived! ...okay, I'm not really disappointed. What happens in the game ater the very beginning, and do you even know where you're going with this? What's the deal with the Space Station, those people, and the place nobodoy returns from? Are you dead?

    Updates
1: Simplified Stat System ...for ease of coding? Or for retro-style gameplay?
2: Slower EXP gain for tougher battles (your starter probably wont evolve until past the second gym)
3: All 494 Pokémon catchable in the wild ...uh, not in one region...even if it were weird and messed-up like Hovak, a single region cannot contain so many differing species, especially without any of its own.
4: No Elite 4, just Battle Island
5: Training Simulators that can help gain EXP and prepare you for big battles
6: "Infected" Pokémon, have some special moves How do they become infected? What's the virus? Fatal? Like the pkrus? Source?
    7: Giant region
8: Tougher opponents Bad idea--ease of gameplay is important on the computer where time is limited because you cannot carry it around with you everywhere (barring laptops)...
    9: 12 starter Pokémon options
10: Powers and effects of moves changed a bit
11: Upgraded Pokétch I never liked that watch...
    12: Big caves and mountains
13: All types of maps Could you elaborate?
I wanna know more. Either this is going to be elegant or a serious letdown...I really hope it's the former.

I wanna know more. Either this is going to be elegant or a serious letdown...I really hope it's the former.

I had this idea put up on the boards last year, but nobody liked it and I quit that. To answer all of your edits...

1: You're 18 in the game, and with a class. And It's not FULLY explored, like a sock drawer.
    2: Fendro= MADE UP
3: You've had the starter Pokémon for a while now.
4: Usually the rival has the type advantage over you from the start.
5: Like missles, but less BOOM-ish. Rockets.
6: If you heard it, you wouldnt be able to describe it either. Kinda Sci fi ish.
    7: Prison Cell
    8: Dark= yes. Emo= NO. It'll get a little bit better.
9: G-rated? Psh. Do you really think that criminals who mean business will worry about that?
10: Space station in Mossdeep City. They assume that you know about it. Like they've never been out of Fendro.. hmm...
11: Black screen= you cant see anything
12: That's the point! Your character is just as confused.
    13: DEAD? WTF?
14: IDK about the Stat system
15: 494 Pokemon can be caught in such a big region. I'll work something out.
16: The virus will be revealed. Remember, I like to make my players only know about as much as their character. Keeps ya on ya toes.
17: Pokemon games have been waaaay too easy.
18: I just thought of a new one, the CELLPHONE
19: Like going into Johto and finding a detailed map on the Ilex forest. Or I might not do that at all.

    EDIT: Updates
The following legendaries will be in this game:
    Deoxys
    ???
    Dialga

    Speed= beat fast Pokémon
Attack= Beat Pokémon with good defense
Defense= Beat Pokémon with good attack
Special Defense= Beat Pokémon with good SP. Attack
Special Attack= Beat Pokémon with good SP Defense
Pokémon will give you one to five EV points. You need five to gain one stat point on the spot.
6: Pokémon need tons more experience to gain levels. You probably wont have your starter evolve until maybe around the third gym.
7: 500 is the maximum for every stat. Except HP, that can go up to whatever Blissey can offer.

    I'll post new updates later.

    PROGRESS

    Not much yet.

I had this idea put up on the boards last year, but nobody liked it Huh... and I quit that. To answer all of your edits...

1: You're 18 in the game, and with a class. And It's not FULLY explored, like a sock drawer Eh, alright xD....
4: Usually the rival has the type advantage over you from the start. Usually...but is the rival forced because it's the 'usual', or does having a 'companion' of sorts actually help the plot?
6: If you heard it, you wouldnt be able to describe it either. Kinda Sci fi ish. ...okay. So it's from the Space Station or someone who took it...
9: G-rated? Psh. Do you really think that criminals who mean business will worry about that? Well, I mean...developers who mean business do xD. I hit Alt+F4 on any fangame where I get three profanities in a short period of playing time, for example...
10: Space station in Mossdeep City. They assume that you know about it. Like they've never been out of Fendro.. hmm......so you've added something to Hoenn. You can't assume we know about it then because, unless it's addressed in the anime and I forget, I'm airly sure that it's just a space center in the games...
11: Black screen= you cant see anything I know that...I was saying it's a good thing. Compliments are nice, ain't they?
12: That's the point! Your character is just as confused.
13: DEAD? WTF? Well, uh...seems like that would have happened somewhere here.
16: The virus will be revealed. Remember, I like to make my players only know about as much as their character. Keeps ya on ya toes. ...that's the best excuse I've seen, so...I'll let it go...
17: Pokemon games have been waaaay too easy. Nevertheless, if it goes by too slowly, people won't bother...unless you can somehow get a REALLY dedicated fanbase. Kudos to you if you can...
18: I just thought of a new one, the CELLPHONE Isn't that kinda like the Pkgear? It's a telephone...and an old model.
19: Like going into Johto and finding a detailed map on the Ilex forest. Or I might not do that at all. Anyone else think this isn't necessary?

    EDIT: Updates
The following legendaries will be in this game:
    Deoxys
    ??? So it's a type and a pkmn...interesting...[/don'ttakeeverythingIsaytooseriously]
    Dialga
    Palkia
    Arceus
Shaymin* Not the Sinnoh Shaymin, right? We do know that there are many Shaymins, not just one...
    *= Not vital to story

    Stat System
1: No IVs ...IVs are important. Every pkmn is different...
2: Pokemon born with equal stats of others of their species See above...
    3: Egg moves still exist
4: No HP stat to train (goes up in increments of whatever is planned for the species) ...o...kay? What of natures? Same deal as before?
6: Pokémon need tons more experience to gain levels. You probably wont have your starter evolve until maybe around the third gym. Ease of evolution is one thing some players look for...and what differentiate many pkmn. If the old equivalent of level 16 takes that long, what about evolving a Wailmer?
I seriously don't have anything to say here but this...

How do you plan on implementing any of these things?
I'm still in the planning stage. Once I really get into Gamemaker or whatever I'll start thinking text editing and stuff. They still havent finished Gamemaker for the mac though.

As for you, Agent Zero... this should cover this slow level gain a bit.

1: Pokémon have all four moves at LV 5, learning three more since they hatch from level one. There are exceptions, of course. This makes the Pokémon considerably stronger from the start. So your Wailmer theory is attacking one of the main issues with this update. Even if Wailmer starts out with attacks like Water Pulse and Rollout, It still only will learn one or two new moves. Which is why I decided to put those Pokémon further into the game. Even so, any person striving for a Waillord would already know that under any circumstance that it takes a while anyway.

2: The average person spends 6 hours a day watching TV, playing video games, and stuff like that. I think they can find the time to play through a little challenge. I mean seriously, Lv3 Wurmple? Lv4 Pidgey?! Oh noes, I better train for that huge battle with that Lv7 Geodude!

3: In regular Pokémon games, your Pokémon are always about 1.5 times stronger than the opponents'. I promise, unless you have a powerful legend, there will be no one hit KO's.

4: With this, I will make it possible to go up against an Ampharos with a Wartortle and not get PWNED. I hope to reduce type-dictatorship and turn it into type-advantage. This way, the types with tons of weaknesses (grass, rock, flying) can be given a chance against the Pokémon Kings (Psychic, Ghost, Sableye/Spiritomb). That way, you can pick the Pokémon that you like and still survive. You still need a heck of a strategy if you have an all grass/steel team like I did in D/P, but that's a different story. Stats will be just as big as a factor as type. That way, gyms could be a bit more challenging/easy to beat. Because for these gyms, I wont put in some weak pushovers. In fact, the first gym leader has a Gible and a Marshtomp. So be thankful.

    EXPLAINING THE STATS MORE

1: No IVs, but the Natures determine the beginning stats.
2: Stats will be slightly raised in this game, to accomadate the slower level gain.
