OOC: I was going for something semi-dramatic and super cheesy here >_>
IC: As the orange dragon rose upward, the ground beneath it crumbled away. Luther turned aroudn briefly, watching everyone climb to safety. He wondered if Ash was still standing around like an idiot. Not that it mattered, Luther was simply curious. But anyway. His mind wandered a bit, and he thought that the decaying landscape made a great setting for this battle.
"So cool! It's just like in those action movies I used to watch! Except it's nothing like that at all! " he squealed. "Well, Dragonite. I've got a feeling this chapter of our lives is coming to an end pretty soon. So let's make it count! It's time to spread our wings and fly! Onward, to a glorious ending!"
They rose ever higher, slowly but surely approaching Missingno. Luther fixated his gaze upon the red dots on the creature's surface. Having no other distinguishable features, Luther assumed they were its eyes. He wanted to be certain that he had its full attention. He stood up on Dragonite's back, as the two of them continued their ascent. He closed his eyes for a moment, envisioning a possible scenario. Victory. He imagined everyone returning to the normal plane. He saw the fires on Missingno's body dying out, the creature itself solidifying and cracking. Slowly, it deteriorated into nothingness. He remembered his past. Lieutenant Surge, Ash, the joy he felt when he caught Dratini in the river. He felt his memories. He opened his eyes, and glared at Missingno.
Dragonite continued to rise.
"Can you feel this? I know you can. There's no need to hide from me. I know who you are. I know your objectives, your desires, your goals. The truth is, you and I have a lot in common. And so do they," he said, gesturing to the other trainers below. Luther smiled. "But we have something you don't, and never will."
Memories. Knowing that the creature reacted to thought, Luther wanted to get his point across dramatically. "You said before that you wanted us to prove to you that we share a bond with our pokemon." He thrust his right arm out to the side. A slight breeze ruffled his cloak. "Our bond lies in our memories!"
Luther paused for a moment, allowing the words to sink in. "Within our memories, we hold knowledge. Knowledge of each other, knowledge of the world. By learning of each other's existence, we form a connection. A bond. That bond gives us power, and with that strength, we have no limits. There's nothing we can't beat!" Luther posed. "We came this far because of our bond. I trust Dragonite, and he trusts me. Now, we're going to show you just how strong our bond has made us!" With those words, Dragonite stopped moving, and began to hover in the place it had reached.
"This hand of mine holds over a decade of memories," Luther called out, raising his right fist. He reared back his arm. Reacting to his movements, Dragonite's antennae twitched slightly, and began to glow. "The envoy of light tears down the walls of the past while the blaze of darkness opens the road to the future! It's the strength of memory that gives us this power!" Luther swung his arm, as if striking an invisible foe. Dragonite tilted its head back, and let fly a massive Fire Blast. The mighty dragon immediately opened its mouth again, unleashing a powerful Hyper Beam. The beam pierced the Fire Blast, transforming into a massuve burst of flaming energy.
Luther and Dragonite trailed directly behind the blast, the latter one's arms glowing a bright green. Dragonite was preparing to use its powerful Dynamic Punch. All attacks were to be aimed at what Luther assumed were Missingno's eyes.
