REGULAR SIGN-UPS ARE NOW CLOSED. IF YOU WISH TO TAKE PART IN THE RP, PM ME
Hi, everybody. After hanging out on PC for... well, a few days, I've decided to make an RP! ^^ I do not know if this is common or anything, but I wan't to do it because I like to make fun for people and because a want to get lot's of RP experience under my belt. As for this RP I was inspired by an Role-Play called SLA Industries. But for you who know it, relax, there will be no slums and no horror, monsters, booze or any other of those dystopian elements. This is an RP for people with all kinds of RP experience, you can be a newbie or a veteran. But enough of my ranting. Let's get to the setting already. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This RP is not in Kanto, Hoenn, Jotho; Orre or Sinnoh. It is completely made up (Well, almost at least) At the west coast of the region of Chunao lies the vast, pulsating city of Polytropolis. The city is in fact so large that few people have managed to actually find out how many square miles it covers. the city is surrounded by forests and plains, not to mention the great sea. It enjoys a warm summer climate most of the year, with plenty of sun in the summer and plenty of rain in the winter. The buildings here comes in all shapes and sizes, and the roads are nice and broad to give plenty of space to all who lives here. Of, course, with so many people living together, one must naturally expect what kind of business Pokémon must be in Polytropolis. Pokémon Centres, training facilities, Pokéshops, clubs and organizations dot every street. All kinds of trainers live here, rookies and veterans, loving trainers and brutal trainers, all with their own unique battle styles. And they're all there to prove their worth. Competitive battling, contests, all kinds of competitions are big business, and trainers often go together to form factions. The stronger or more skilled the trainers, the stronger the faction. In Polytropolis, Pokémon are power.
People generally live well in Polytropolis. Most people live in flats or small houses, with all the services they need in close vicinity. Few people are married or have children here. This is a city for those unbounded, those who pursue their dreams and set themselves goals about Pokémon. Restaurants and cafes are abundant, as are hotels and motels, so if you have the money, you can get anything. If people have jobs, they work in the social services, the bureaucracy , or in one of the larger organizations. the city has good healthcare, and it takes a special pide in holding it's streets remarkably clean. Of course, all the workers are trainers as well, and their Pokémon happily assists them in the everyday work.
Polytropolis are under the kind rule of Mayor Clarence Chamberlain, re-elected for the fifth time this very year. Of course, he cannot take the cares of the vast city entirely on his own shoulders; a host of bureaucrats helps him take care of the everyday administration. The city is divided into districts, one for each elemental type. The local head of each district is handpicked by the mayor and has a *cough strange cough* tendency to come from the most powerful trainers organization of that district. The districts are as follows:
-The Normal District contains many houses, shops and Pokémon centers. It is also home to the administration and the largest battle facility, Combat Co. (Yeah, reaaally inventive) The District is headed by the Mayor himself.
-The Fighting District hosts the most battle arenas and training facilities, as well as holding a air number of trainers schools. It is headed by Sensei Laurence.
-The Rock District has the most factories and trade organizations. It is headed by Professor Quartz.
-The Ground District is the area with the most houses. It is headed by Director Ingrid.
-The Flying District is the HQ of all transport in the town. It is headed by Minister Margaret.
-The Poison District has a large number of organizations in it, as well as an impressive number of dojos. It has the lead in cosmetique and clothing as well. It is headed by Founder André.
-The Steel District is very similar to the Rock District, and the Rivaling between the two are sharp. It is headed by Head Technician Valeria.
-The Bug District is leading in restaurants and museums. It is headed by Scholar Ramsy.
-The Ghost District is home to occult groups and organizations. It offers a number of strange services and is headed by Seer Stefan.
-The Psychic District is for psychics. They live and train here more than any other place in the town, and their leader is Sensei Robert.
-The Dark District is home of the law enforcement buildings and the large jail. It is headed by Police Chief Amy.
-The Ice district has most of the tourist offices and hotels. The head is called Receptionist Charles.
-The Fire District Deals with the heating and has classy spas and restaurants. The head is Master Eric.
-The Grass District deals with all the greenhouses and produces all the fruit. It acknowledges Botanist Derek as its head.
-The Water District has the harbors and fish shops; well, petty mush anything that has with fish to do. The city's water supply is here. Captain Vivian is the head here.
-The Electric district houses the sewer HQ and the power plant. Plant Head Marius commands the respect here.
-When people get wealthy and/or mighty, they often move to the Dragon District, the posh, upper-class district. Count Nash is The head of this particular district.
Phew. Now that we're done with all the districts, allow me to introduce The Director, head of Combat Co. and the most powerful man in the city. Not only does he own the largest combat complex ever created, but through the services his well-paid Operatives offer to the city, he can influence a lot more things that most people will thing.
