3rd Gen Pok?mon Emerald General Discussion and Speculation

Discuss the new Pok?mon Emerald, coming out September 16, 2004! This thread will be closed at release, but generally discuss the game and new features here.

The date is mean for the realis of the Japhanis version right?
 
It's coming out 9-14-04? That's right after FRLG comes out. Are you sure about this?
 
9/14/04 is the Japanese release of Emerald. And yes it is right after the American release of FR/LG. Different people make the games then the ones that translate them, so yes a Japanese version of a new game can come out at the same time as an English release of a version that's been in Japan for a bit. And there is no American release date planned fro Emerald yet (Serebii.net assumes it is in Q1 2005, but no one knows as nothing official has been said, it could take a long time like FR/LG and not come out to Q2 or Q3).
 
Will Emerald have the same starters as R/S?
 
It probably will have the same starters. It's just another somewhat small remake.

Erm. It's not before FR/LG. They come out between Sept. 7-9, while Emerald's japanese release is a week later. We're not going to get it here in the US for another 7-10 months. Lucky Japanese people...
 
Yeah the Japanese people are lucky. They get almost everything before the U.S. and almost everywhere else. Oh, and it should have the same starters as R/S. The way I look at it, is it's a Crystal for R/S. Crystal was the almost exact same thing basically as G/S, and by the looks of it, Emerald is very similar to R/S.
 
Gee...maybe they get it before everyone else is because they make them games!?! And I think it is the 3rd game in the Jewel series (it's what I call this series...Rubies, Sapphires Emeralds, all jewels) also.
 
I think the release date for Emerald is July 10, 2005 (ENGLISH) from PokeDream. And supposely there is a video for the new Deoxys (I'm gonna watch it) at https://www.pokemon.jp/portal/others/F710.html. I'm just gonna wait until it finishes loading. It was originally on Filb.de but now I'll post it. I wonder how many more updates is left, because according to PPN, there are more battle tournaments and more animations. OH GOODIE GOSH!

EDIT2: Just so you know, it's been a while, and now we know what Speed Deoxys looks like. So people know, there's a whole bunch of stuff now, so ya better look at Serebii.net!

That thing is called the Battle Tube.

In it, your Pokemon may be healed or afflicted with Poison, or you may battle, depending on which door you choose inside of that place.

Official Date:
There is NO official release date for the game yet. Until Nintendo of America (NOA) releases one, all of those are just dates that people have guessed. Just wait for the official release date, it should be long until they officially annouce it.

My Guess (everyone went guessing, so why can't I?):
But taking into consideration that many things aren't to be translated in Emerald as there will be the same as Ruby and Sapphire, probably by January of February the new game could out, but as i said, that's a guess i made, don't take it as official :P!!
 
Pokemon Emerald Info and Video!

Mostly everybody's been guessing that the American Release Date for Emerald is July 10, 2005, or something like that, in some sites that I saw. What will emerald be like? What will the starters by? What will the legindaries be? What pokedex will they use (the one from red/blue/yellow silver/gold/crystal or ruby/sapphire)? What story line will it be? The one from Ruby/sapphire? And who will be the villans?
 
Emerald will be like a Ruby/Sapphire with a bit of add-ons here and there

Starters are the same (not confirmed by I personally say 98% it's the same)

No idea about legendaries, but you know that Rayquaza, Groudon and Kyogre will be in it again. All the legendaries can be captured with FRLG and RS already (and you know that Mew/Jirachi/Celebi are hogged by Nintendo)... no idea about the other legendaries.

Pokedex is most likely RS dex, while forcing you to unlock the national dex somehow later.

Story line? What's that?

Villians? Who are-- Oh you mean those losers who get beaten up by one single kid! Team Magma/Aqua together (somehow.)
 
1. It's like the Yellow version of RS. Won't be much of a difference I'm assuming.
2. Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip
3. Same, I'm assuming.
4. No idea.
5. Probably the same with a few changes with Team Aqua/Magma. Both of them end up getting Groudon and Kyogre and battling I believe.
6. Aqua and Magma.

the only way i'm buying it if they make it where u can aleast trade with gold/silver/crystal...they gotta make a game where u can trade/battle with the old ones again
 
It doubt that they will do that! They need to make a new link cable because the GBA link and the GBC link are totally different!
