So guys, I'm new...and sorry for no introduction but I really need to ask this

You ever wonder how pokeballs work? I do, I'm not intrested of how you catch them..I'm wondering how you retrieve it back after throwing it, when you battle, I never see you pick the ball back up after throwing it, in the anime, you throw it, it somehow ends up in your hand..any ideas?

They have shown Ash or whoever picking up the ball after catching a Pok?mon. What they don't really show though is them getting the ball back after being unsuccessful in catching, except when the Pok?mon slaps the ball back and Ash/whoever catches it,

Sorry, but I meant during trainer battles, how they get the ball back after throwing it to call out the pokemon, not catching them, I was curious because there was no scene of picking the ball up after calling them out, this also leads to how in the anime and games when you want to retrieve them back, you hold the ball and somehow they go back, but how did they get the ball back in the first place

I don't really watch the Pokemon anime, so I'm not really sure if it was explained there. All I can give are my own personal theories, and I really believe it's kinda built into the Pokeball's mechanism that whenever you throw it to summon a Pokemon, it kinda acts like a boomerang and comes right back to wherever it was thrown from. .___.

... At least, that's the way I've always interpreted it.
