Pokedexes

    Okay, so in the Pokespecial universe, getting a Pokedex seems to be a huge deal. In the games, you get one just like that. In the anime, EVERYBODY has a Pokedex. So, why is having a Pokedex so important in the manga? I know about the abilities of the trainers and stuff, but are any of you curious?
     
    Anime everyone has a Pokedex? You kidding me? That's impossible. Only the one who knows Prof.Oak, Prof.Birch, Prof.Rowan and Prof.Elm can get Pokedex. Well, in the game, I don't know. In Ruby and Sapphire, because you are Norman's son/daughter, you get a Pokedex. But I don't know about others. In manga, of course it's important! Only the chosen one can get a Pokedex. In GSC and RBY saga, everyone has an ability. In Ruby and Sapphire, Sapphire is tough plus she is Birch's daughter so she got one to help her father research. For Ruby, Ruby just stole it from Birch. Birch didn't know Ruby stole it and Ruby is actually a strong trainer! About the Emerald, it still unknown. For DP Saga, maybe because Platina is rich and her family is a very important family for Sinnoh. So she gets 3 (That's too much) and she shared the Pokedex to Dia and Pearl.
     
    I actually kinda see the pokedex receiving as a kind of a fate....
     
    in manga it's important that the pokedex don't come in the wrong hands (perhaps a member of team aqua/magma/rocket/galactic would act as a normal trainer and received it. he could use it for evil)
    in anime noone really matter's in which hands there is a pokedex (really stupid)
    that's my opinion
     
    ^ Didn't you read the Fr/Lg saga? If you did you shouldn't need an answer for that question.

    Touché. The pokedexes in the manga is nothing you can give away to any ordinary person. According to Oak's "strict rules".

    I guess thats true, All the Dex owners seem to be at the right place at the right time to get their pokedexes.
     
    o yeah i remenber something Platina was suppose to give turtwig,chimchar and the 2 pokedex to her bdy guards then Dia and Pearl appear but i just want to now Ruby,Sapphy and Emerald's Abilities as a trainer

    Well, basically, the villains got hold of a Pokedex model and used it for their own, evil advantage.
     
    ^ they used it to gather info. about Deoxys so they could capture it and use it for evil ect., ect., blah, blah, blah.
