PokeHumanfication Contest
hosted by o3o, ~Ryukaa, and BinaryPeaches

General Information
Hello, and welcome to the PokeHumanfication Contest! This is where you will design and illustrate any Pokemon in Human Form (also known as a 'ginjinka', and for everyone else to rate a judge! Good Luck, and may the best Humanfied Pokemon Win!

This year this contest will work a bit differently. The entries will be split into two sections, which will be advanced and junior. Advanced is for more of the advanced artists, while junior is for those who would still like to participate, but may not be as advanced in drawing. This way, those who don't have the advanced skills can still go for an emblem. As the participant, you are the one to choose which group you want to go under.

Entering is easy. Either you may tell us beforehand that you will enter and then draw your entry (during the entry days), or simply just submit your entry. Once you submit your entry, it will be on the first post for easy access to the other entrants for the voting period. Please Enter your own art.
Dates

Because we only have a span of four days, this is how this contest will be done.
Day 1 (July 15th) & 2 (July 16th) - These will be entrant days. Be sure to enter your PokeHuman/Ginjika during this time!

Day 3 (July 17th) & 4 (July 18th) - Voting Period. Because all entrants are to also vote please be sure to be online one of the two days and vote. How to do so will be below.

The day after the results will be counted up and will be released once they are done.

Rules

  1. As what was just said, please enter your own art. If we find out that it is not your own art, there will be immediate consequences (infraction and disqualification from the contest).
  2. Be a good sport. Please be respectful, and don't bring down anyone's art.
  3. Please be around during the voting period! Those who do not vote will sadly be disqualified. How to vote will be explained below.
  4. Votes are to be sent to o3o. Do not send votes to ~Ryukaa or BinaryPeaches
  5. Have fun with this! . . . Yeah

Voting

For this little competition, everyone will be allowed to vote who they think should win the contest. Here are the guidelines.

  • You must vote for at least 2 advanced and 2 juniors. An optional third vote for both categories is allowed. Should you use the optional vote, however, you must use it for both categories (so no voting for 5 people; you must either vote for 4 or 6 people)
  • Don't just think about the quality of the drawing. Think more about the design, and how much it relates to the Pokemon that was Humanfied. You should be able to tell what Pokemon it is without being told.
  • You will have two days to vote (look above for dates). Please be sure to be on during those times.
  • Please send all votes to o3o. Do NOT send your votes to ~Ryukaa or BinaryPeaches.
  • Yes, voting is a requirement for those who have entered the contest. If you do not vote, you will thus be disqualified. DO NOT FORGET TO VOTE.

Voting

Everyone who participates will get a Participation Emblem. Winners and the first runner-up for both categories will receive either a winner or a runner-up emblem.

(Yes, they have an electric pkmn theme for no apparent reason. And yes, the runner-up one looks weird and out of place because BinaryPeaches is weird like that.)

Hmm, well maybe there can be two divisions? One Junior, and one Advanced? That way, it would be fairer on a broader variety of contestants. o3o
I'd also be willing to make the Participant and/or 3rd place emblem.

Well, if emblems were to be given out as prizes, I would be interested in designing the first/second place emblem. Ryu already has the third place emblem covered~ Also, I was thinking themes. Like, cute Pokémon, scary Pokémon, etc.; the images could be judged on quality (as in, was it rushed or was a lot of time spent on it) and originality. I also wouldn't mind posting the main thread, though you or Ryu can do it if you want~ xD

I was also thinking that the some of the rules could be something along the lines of:
1. Nothing inappropriate
2. Original images (no stealing others' images)

So yeah. :3

Actually, yeah. That's an idea we can go with. Instead of ranking from First to third, why not just give out emblems like mentioned above. Winning a prize for originality, quality, coolest, cutest, scariest... that sounds pretty good.

Hmm.... that would be too many emblems. :( GT emblems only get one use, so admins don't want us to overload them on emblems like that. Personally, I think we should just go for First, Runner-Up/Second and Participant.

We don't want it to be based too much on quality of the image. Some people who want to participant aren't the best of artists, but may have a neat idea on how it looks. Originality/creativity sounds good though. As for 'categories' you guys can decide; I just kind of stuck them in one big list last year. I like the Scary/Cute idea, but I think it would depend on how many participants we get.

Sure~ :3 Well, I'm fine with making the runner up emblem then, if that's alright~

Ah, I see. Well, just originality and creativity sounds good.

I agree with Ryu about the Junior / Advanced categories. There could be a winner for both categories.

Alright then.
Then for what we've got so far... /going to add on this, bit by bit
There's a Junior and Advanced category.
There will be extra categories that people will be able to win, though there are no emblem prizes.
Some of these categories are,
- Creativity/Originality
- Scariest
- Coolest
- Cutest
(maybe add more?)
Rules:
- No inappropriate material
- Original images

We can allow images that have been drawn beforehand, right?

Well, I think maybe it would be a better idea if the images were drawn for the GT. But I couldn't see the harm in using images that have already been drawn. Maybe we'll have to leave that open for a little while~ ;;

Eh, maybe having it drawn for the GT is better after all. I mean, that's the whole point of it, right? So yeah. o3o
If we make the voting process for 1st-3rd place like the PPC, that should be alright. The category judging can be done by us, since it hopefully won't be too hard.

Ooo. I like that idea. Gives us all something to do together, as otherwise we only have two jobs and three of us. xD; As far as I know we each also have some drawing ability in us so it's not like we're doing the extra categories as complete noobs. We need an idea of how each of them will be judged for the extra categories though, so it's not just on how well it's drawn.

Well, I suppose the extra categories will be jugded on the creativity in that certain aspect, or how much it appeals to the category itself.
In my mind, I just see the person with the best design or style winning those extra categories. Not really on how well it's drawn, just how it's presented in the end.

Precisely how I see it. It's exactly what I mean when it should be less over quality/how well it's drawn and more about the creativity and such of the drawing. I think you may have gotten the wrong vibe from the 'we're all artists somewhat' in saying well pick the best drawn, but I meant it by we're able to see past that and see the other aspects as well.

So...
~ Two Days Entries, two Days voting (GT is four days long, so splitting it in half sounds like a good idea). During the voting period - and probably during the entry period - we'll probably post several reminders on how close the due date is to whatever, just like in the PPC. I'm going to assume it's going to be by EST time, since that's how it's been in the past.

~Junior and Advanced Categories. I think letting the artists themselves choose with category they think their art is suited for.

~Extra Categories that will have no prize (or maybe one emblem for all the categories, rather than a bunch of separate emblems?) that we'll decide on.

~Rules will probably be the standard rules you see, as well as the two rules that were mentioned above (I'm too lazy to go back and check. |D;)

We should probably decide who's going to be making the thread and who will be receiving the votes and such. n_n We also need to decide the method on how we're going to do the extra categories. I was thinking possibly an MSN conversation in which we decide that way, but maybe you guys have any ideas?

Ryu suggested MSN convos too, so I'm good with that. :3

I agree with all the points you've mentioned.

I was also thinking, maybe a Digital Art and Traditional Art subcategory within the two main categories? 'Cause I know quite a few people that have strengths in either one of the two, so yeah. But that's just a thought.
