  • They left the small restaurant and entered the autumn night. It was a little frosty, and from time to time a frigid blast of air would sweep across the leaf-covered ground. The moon was a disk of shimmering opal that glowed in the sky, framed by clusters of twinkling stars. It was a beautiful night, Cecil thought.

    The two of them strode along the lantern-lit path that wound through Viridian City, back to the Pokemon Centre. As they amiably made small talk in a friendly fashion, slowly pacing on the worn cobblestones, the night wrapped around them as well, a concealing cloak of inky darkness.

    After he had seen Iris off to her room, he began to pace restlessly around his own for a few minutes. After pondering what exactly was it that bothered him, he decided to ascend to the balcony of the Pokemon Center, taking a convenient staircase, unfurling a greatcoat over himself in the process to ward of the chilly evening air.

    There was something he needed to see tonight.

    He faced westwards, gazing at the stars in the horizon, silently pondering life. After a while, he closed his eyes and touched the air as it passed by him, standing perfectly still under the dark heavens. Visions were spinning themselves across a mental medium, images appearing and then receding as quickly as fleeting flashes of white and black. He heard keys clinking, a familiar melody repeating itself in his mind. Lost in his own corridors of thought, he couldn't manage to bring his mental faculties together to reason with himself as he had used to be able to in order to overcome those other difficulties and fears that he had also dealt with long ago. Blades of wind permeated with frost scythed around him.

    He saw things, or he though he saw them; whether it was fact or fiction did not make much difference. Things arising out of the tempest of times lost, beyond man's reach, whispers of people, events, actions that were but no longer are. He remained there, silhouette outlined by a faint aura of silvery moonlight, the hems of his coat flowing in the buffeting wind.

    History was about to repeat itself, in his life. Whether he liked it or not, he was being swept into a whirlwind of conflict. They will have to experience many dangerous events in their future, he and his traveling companions, emotional if not physical, and many fiery debates would lie in their path.

    He heard footsteps, vaguely, behind him, and the click of the steel door that led from the inside of the Pokemon Center to the large platform exposed to the open air. Turning around, he saw a small, dark shape in the doorway, the unmistakable glint of silvery hair, and the easily recognizable heterochromatic green-and-red eyes. He smiled politely at her entrance onto the balcony, and greeted her casually. As they quickly entered a discussion of the position of stars and the nomenclature of constellations, he privately retained a wish that perhaps fate, as fickle as it was, would give him time to experience life more fully than he had before; and as he wished to experience life more fully than before, some part of him was made a little more peaceful by this.

  • Tai knew he wasn't brilliant.

    He was a called good looking, yes, and a polished jewel. He had perfected logical thinking, but intelligence was another matter. He was outclassed thoroughly when he first laid eyes on the analytical, lean scholar that was Cecil Fluorspar. He had been beaten.

    He was a league of his own.

    Calculating eyes, and shifting persona that was difficult to pin down long enough to evaluate correctly, or atleast to him. The most dangerous mountain, the stream of possibilities that was entirety flashed behind his eyes. Tai felt exposed to his vision, to his aquamarine eyes that radiated knowledge.

    Never in his life had he felt anything remotely close to intimidation, but this time it looks like the better man has won.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The icy night time wind of Viridian wrapped around his body without mercy. His blonde hair flowing with the wind, his hat keeping most of it nicely in place. He substituded his usual red, white collared jacket with a sleeveless red flannel shirt and a white hooded sweatshirt underneath.
    With his hands shoved in his pockets he walked down the night streets of Viridian after his large buffet. He had lost his chance to dine with Iris to Cecil, and now who knows what they were up to.
    The blonde stopped in his tracks and smiled when he reached a sign: DO NOT PASS. PRIVATE PROPERTY.
    "Hmph. Private? They must be hiding some kind of rare pokemon in there. They won't keep me out!" The boy snickered as he tip-toed past the sign.
    "HEY! YOU! GET OFFA MY PROPERTY!"
    Tai fell, anime style, then whirled around to see an old, hunched man standing before him.
    "Who are you buddy?" He demanded, squinting at the man with distaste.
    "Buddy? HOW DARE YOU INSULT ME LADDY! I AM THE MAYOR OF THIS TOWN, ROSHI! NOW I DEMAND RESPECT!" The middle aged man slammed his cane down onto the floor,
    "Well I was just trying to see what was over here-"
    "MY HOUSE!! WHICH IS WHYYYY IT SAYS PRIVATE!!" The old man spit onto the floor and Tai squinted at him with distaste.
    "You know Roshi, you really need to get lai-" But Tai never got to finish his sentence. A large, sturdy net was thrown over the mayor and himself, immediately closing the ropey bonds around the two tightly.
    Tai's face contorted with shock. "What the-"
    Roshi stepped back, looking scared. "What is this? A trap?"
    "A trap he says….how dare he infer that we are trapping something." A raspy voice came from the shadows behind a tree, and stepped forward. It was a man with long, light green hair, his eyes the color of blood and narrow, adorned in the classic Team Rocket attire.
    "Oh, don't be so harsh. An old man and ONE child, we could have done better…." A smooth, high, girly voice came from a woman with bright pink hair in two ponytails with elaborate curls, her eyes a deep cerulean. She wore the Team Rocket outfit as well, and she was the one who held the net shooter gun in her hands.
    Tai snarled across at them. "Unless you people want trouble, let us out of here."
    His voice changed from his usual happy-go-lucky tone to a serious tone, matching his serious demanor.
    The woman laughed, then walked over and reached through the net, grabbing Tai under the chin and forcing him to look at her.
    "Our names are Jane and Luther. We're highly respected members of Team Rocket, and our boss was waiting for you and your friends to leave your sniveling hometowns….He'd like a word with you."
    "Tell you're boss he can go to hell." Tai spat on her face, the spit sliding down her cheek. Jane's smile faded rapidly and she hit him violently, then wiped the liquid off of her skin, stepping back and bringing out a pokeball.
    She looked back at Luther and snarled orders. "Let's get out of here. Go, MAROWAK! Drag the net now!"
    "Maro!" Marowak smirked, then picked up the ends of the net, hauled it over his shoulders, and proceeded to walk away.
    "Damn." Tai wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with his fist and spit on the floor, the red liquid landing on the ropey bonds.
    'I can't let Charco and Gee get dragged off either!' Tai thought to himself.
    "Hey Roshi, your the mayor. You must have a pokemon to defend us with." The mayor nodded with a smirk. Tai nodded,
    "Charco, Gee get out of here." Tai released his two pokemon, the Charmander and Pidgey not budging.
    Jane turned, "What are you doing?!"
    "GET OUT OF HERE!!!" Tai yelled, Charco and Gee slowly stepped back and soon enough turned to run back into the city.
    "Oh where do you think your going? Marowak, Bonemerang!" Jane grunted. The Rocket pokemon gripped his bone club and launched it forward towards the two escaping pokemon.
    "Fearow!" A large brown flying pokemon screeched and with a flick of its wing it swiped the bone away. Roshi stood up and grew a toothy grin, Tai stood up and looked back to see his pokemon.
    Charco and Gee turned around with worried looks but Tai gave a thumbs up and a large grin before Roshi released a golden bee pokemon. The Beedril swiped its twin pincers and cut the ropey bonds open. Charco and Gee turned back around and ran into the horizon, without looking back.
    "Tai was it?" Roshi asked, not taking his eyes off of the two Rockets. Tai turned to the man and nodded.
    "Yeah."
    "Nice to meet you. Only one side is leaving today. It's either us, or them." Roshi started, "Hyper Beam!"
    The large Fearow released a spiral of energy that blasted its way towards the Rockets.
    Luther grunted. "Go, Hypno! Reflect!" A large yellow pokemon with blank eyes appeared and casted a transparent wall of energy, the spiraling beam of energy smashed against the wall only to be bounced back after a few seconds and strike Fearow who was directly above Tai, Roshi and Beedril.
    A large explosion was enduced, the likes of which was something Tai has never seen let alone experience. The group lay on the floor, bleeding wounds and dirt covering their bodies. Tai was woozy, the scenery around him was fuzzy and all he could hear was a sharp ringing noise.
    Luther kicked the bodies lightly. "There's only one kid. Where are the other two?"
    Jane shrugged. "Who cares? Giovanni said bring any you could find. No more orders than that."
    The green haired man nodded. "Let's just be sure there are no eyewitnesses. Hypno!"
    The large yellow pokemon with blank eyes and the yo yo faced Tai.
    Luther quietly commanded the Hypno. "Use Hypnosis."
    Hypno swung its pendulum back and forth, and muttered under its breath.
    Roshi tried to fight it….But too late. Sleep over took him, and he sunk to the ground with a loud thud. Tai felt the effects too, and soon, he was falling into the dark, deep depths of slumber.
    The scenery went from fuzzy to black and white, all he could see was the Team Rocket members looking at each other.
    He looked at the woman who smirked, her lips moved but her words were inaudible. Until seconds later when he finally heard the words.
    "Mission accomplished."
    Tai's head fell back and he lay there, his body being dragged in a new net alongside Roshi.
    All that was left behind was a post-apocalyptic looking field and Tai's charred and ripped hat.
  • Of course things should turn out this way.
    That post apocalyptic scene. That was something this girl recognized something all too well. It's what happened wherever they went. They hurt everything they touched, and she vowed to put a stop to it.
    "Persian! Fury Swipes!" Her voice called out. The elegant cat's claws ripped the net to shreds freeing the unconscious boy and the old man, "Bringing innocent civilians into your plans. Your despicable!" She cried out.
    The two rockets were surprised to see her. Team Rocket knew very well of her existence. The girl with the white cloak and the blonde hair. The one they had tried to turn into a puppet. Icy wind whipped at the girls cloak.
    "Persian. Night Slash!" This girl said it with such fierce intent, she was serious about her mission. As the Persian easily disposed of the Pokémon trying to defend their trainers the cat Pokémon went for their trainers. And with one fell sweep of Night Slash the two rocket members fled.
    The girl looked at the two civilians caught into all of this. They were just outside of Viridian forest so she found a tree to prop them up against and then....
    And then....?
    ------
    After Cecil had escorted her back to the Pokémon Center and they said their farewells for the time being Iris decided to relax in her room. She laid on bed and breathed out a long sigh. The bed was soft and welcoming but it didn't feel very comfortable. It wasn't her bed..Her home.
    Jeeze, not even a day in and she's was already homesick. Why was she here again?
    "Iris!" Her minds voice echoed. Of course, she needed to find her sister. The person whom she'd loved so much. Yes, that's why she was here.
    Iris tossed and turned in the bed for a bit. Unable to relax she got up, put her cape on and decided to do a bit of star gazing. It was something Iris did when she felt restless. The stars had a calming effect on her like it was some sort of lullaby.
    ----
    The only thing Iris heard was the gentle tip-tap of her footsteps against the tile floor and then the soft click of opening the steel door.
    To her surprise, Cecil was standing out on the balcony in deep though not deep enough though that he did not notice her emerge from the shadows. Cecil greeted her casually and Iris smiled at him, "Were you looking at the stars? Do you mind if I join you?" Iris asked.
    Cecil said he didn't mind and the two quickly entered a discussion on different types of constellations. It was peaceful for a time but their idle chitchat of stars was interrupted by a loud explosion that rattled the night.
    Ooc: It sucks I know, but my writing skills are rusty >_<;
  • (OOC: Playing catch-up)
    Route 1: Unsolved Pokémon Mysteries
    It was a standard spring morning in the Kanto region. The sun was as bright as a Pikachu's Flash move, the wild Pidgey flocks flew with vigor to keep their tiny but plump bodies afloat, and the cries of multiple Spearow echoed through the landscape. In this peaceful setting, two street rats would start their journey in search of success. Seamus "Ratz" O'Toole and his Rattata, the wondrous Joey Rats, started the short hike to Pallet Town late in the morning. The two partners in literal crime where on their way to a pokemon researcher named Professor Oak in hopes of receiving one of the starter pokemon to help on their travels, but most importantly of all to obtain an official Pokemon Trainer Liscense that qualified him for the Pokemon League.
    All was quiet on the road, and for some reason, Ratz instincts kicked in and he felt as though it was eerily quiet. His suspicions turned out correct as he felt a force applying a burning pressure to his body. Whether this was his mind playing tricks on him or not was something he debated until he felt as though eyes were peering at him from not too far off in the distance. Ratz's peripherals revealed nothing to be hiding infront of him, but he did recall a group of trees to the right of him that he has ignored out of uninterest. All doubts that this wasn't his psyche creating the supernatural pain were quelled when he attempted to turn his head to look at the direction of the trees.
    His neck stiffened by force as the pain grew sharper and sharper. Something did not want to be seen, but that wasn't going to stop ol' Seamus from giving the perp what'for.
    Joey was unaffected by this pain, and worriedly tried to shake his friend into moving, not even paying attention to any would-be assailant. Ratz started to foam at the mouth due to the severe pain, and eventually, his body gave out. He collapsed to his knees with a clenched fist digging into the ground for support. The starting trainer let out a few curse words under his clenched teeth to express his anguish. And, just as fast as it had come, the pain was gone and Ratz was able to stand. Stubbornly, the thug of a boy turned to the trees and saw nothing. Whatever was there had left, or simple started to stalk from another location.
    Pallet Town: Deal or no Deal?
    Not letting this impead on his quest, Ratz continued onto Pallet Town. It did not take long for him to arrive there, as he started to jump down from many rocks which seemed faster than if Ratz had taken the trail. Finally the duo entered Pallet Town. The smell of the salt water whisking into his face from the south via the wind sparked old repressed memories of a ship. The boat rocked back and forth as holes breached the ship and water filled the hull. It sank, and the only think keeping the boy alive was an unwilling ferry named Magikarp. With the air of déjà vu all around him, he noticed many houses with signs out front of them. Walking about, Ratz saw that they had the name of the owners on them, although only the first names. One read "Tai's House" while another on the opposite side stated "Iris' House." The boy found it odd, but didn't care; he had business to attend to. After asking a local for directions, Ratz finally found Oak's Research Lab, and rang the bell.
    Spending what felt like hours, but in reality only a minute or so, a man in a white lab coat and graying hair opened the door and welcomed the young lad in. The two introduced themselves, Oak as Prof. Oak, and Seamus simply stating 'Ratz.' "Come now," Oak said, "That isn't a proper name. What is your real name?" Ratz gave in and gave the professor his birth name. "Well, now that we're properly introduced, what is it that I can help you with, lad?" inquired the famous scientist. Seamus responded. "I heard you were giving away starter Pokemon and Pokemon League Licenses, and I was wondering if it was possible to obtain a set." he put bluntly. Oak's face grew slightly grim as he dilvered to the hopeful teen the bad news. "I'm sorry, I'd love to help you, I really would, but I'm afraid I gave away my three starters not too long ago. I'm terri…" "WHAT!?" Ratz said loudly, interrupting Oak's sentence. "I came all the way down here from Viridian, spent money on clothing and supplies I could've used to feed myself for a month, and you're OUT!? How am I going to be a trainer without the proper tools?!" After listening to Seamus' last outburst, the man started to laugh for a bit. Afterwards he said to a confused Ratz "My boy, you don't need a starter to obtain a license, you can obtain one today and use that Rattata on your shoulder as your starting companion. All you need to do is pass a quick exam to prove that you know the rules of the League."
    After some relieving breaths, Ratz insisted that Oak bring 'it' on, implying the test. After an hour of sitting at a table and writing down answers, Oak reviewed them with a solemn look on his face. "My boy…These are terrible results. Do you realize that for the open response question 'What do you do after beating another Trainer in battle?' you answered 'Shove them to the floor and take they're munny?' For one, the answer in incorrect, and for two, you used the wrong "their" and spelled 'money' incorrectly. I'm afraid your results are too low to qualify for a license." Before Ratz could protest, Oak continued. "But….I'm willing to cut you a break. I will give you a license if you promise to do me a favor." Ratz nodded and Oak continued. "The three who were here before you, they show just as much promise as you do in training, but I fear they may not have proper experience living on their own. In return for a license under my name, I want you to seek them out and give them a crash course on the basics of living on their own. Can you do that?" the Professor said all the while validating Seamus' license. "With pleasure" he replied while accepting the laminated card. With an official document stating he can take part in the Pokemon League, Ratz was on his way to stardom, and it started with leaving Pallet Town.
    Route 1: Family Matters
    Back on Route 1, Ratz and Rats felt a slight unease passing through the grassland once again. While both were very prideful, neither one wanted to stand up to that demon which assaulted Ratz, whatever it may have been. Walking along the path, Ratz heard the grass around him move about quickly from multiple directions. Bracing for battle, the two compadres covered the other's back, expecting the worst. Three Rattata appeared and where hissing loudly at the pair. Joey, whilst doing his best to defend himself and intimiate the other rat-type Pokemon, couldn't help but feel as though he recognized his assailant. Joey started to speak to the others of his species, and learned that they were his second cousins. When asked why they were acting so aggressive, the wild pokemon had this to say. "About twenty minutes ago, three other humans attacked us. Our youngest brother and eleventh oldest sister were brutally beaten, and we think even captured, so we're on our feet incase more of the brutes show up, but if it's just you and your human, then we have no problems. If you see them, please make sure they're safe! "
    After a few minutes of talking, Joey told his distant relatives that the people that probably took them were heading up north passed the giant trash buffet and into the bug place. The group of rats offered to escort them to the forest, where Joey and Seamus would search out the kidnappers.
    While this conversation was going on, Ratz was completely out of the loop for the most part. He figured out that they were family, as Joey's family in the area had helped them out before after they ran into Route 1 to escape a pursuing shopkeeper after looting the man of five bags of rolls…they dined like kings that week. While walking, Joey tried to explain the situation to his Trainer. While not speaking either other's language, the bond they shared allowed Ratz to get the jist of it. Two members of their rat pack were missing after a battle with something, and they had to head north to find them. Judging by the urgency, it was either a bird Pokemon making off with the day's meal, or Trainers catching new additions to their parties.
    The group entered Viridian and Joey's immediate pack witnessed the small group traveling. Many of the adult males of the pack joined the escort as a sign of respect to the cousin's from the south, and it was quite a spectacle to be seen by the townsfolk. After reaching the end of Route 2, both packs bided the travelers farewell and watched as they entered the Viridian Forest …….
  • Epically long fail post
    OOC: This is a bit lengthy and rushed, so I apologize for the below average quality and any grammar errors that exist. I should improve as time goes on as it is my first post in a very long time.
    Pallet Town: I Will Have My Revenge
    "Finally," the young man huffed, exhausted from his journey. "This is Pallet Town, eh?" he continued, wiping off the sweat from his brow, before shuffling through his bag to grab a dirty, worn map. Examining the decrepit map, he traced his general path with his finger (with a fair share of guesswork involved). "Yeah, definitely Pallet Town. Man, it took forever to get here. Maybe I should of taken my dad's offer to fly me here," he sighed. "Oh well, I am here now. That old man better have that Charmander I saw on the TV!" he yelled proudly.
    For weeks, the young man has fantasizing traveling the world with a powerful Charmander by his side, defeating the 8 gym leaders and going on to dominate the Pokemon league and have his name permanently engraved in the Hall of Fame. He was aware the journey would be long and extremely challenging, but he embraced the idea of a challenge. A competitive soul needs an outlet and the young man ran out of these outlets months ago in his hometown of Celadon City. In nearly every competition he has participated in, he walked out placing well and more often than not, he won. Pokemon remains the one thing he has not succeeded in. Competing in the Pokemon league became an increasingly attractive prospect and upon hearing news of an elderly Professor by the name of Oak giving away starter Pokemon and licenses, he jumped on the idea of entering.
    Against his father's wishes, the young man left his home and journeyed towards Pallet Town. It was a tough and long expedition and that only increased in difficultly due to unexpected issues within Mt. Moon and the young man's poor sense of direction with required extra glances at his old, out of date map. However, victory became a reality and the man's dream was at hand.
    Entering the town's borders, he became acquainted with the idea of tranquility. Pallet Town was a haven for all species. The sun was perched in the sky at a high point and its rays warmed the air to perfection. A gentle breeze brushed against the man's skin and kept him cool. Taking a deep breath in, he became rejuvenated. Closing his eyes, he unconsciously became to walk forward and mistakenly bumped into a blonde trainer.
    "My mistake," he said. The traines ignored him as expected. He watched as the continued without saying a word. "Jerk. I'll see that kid again and crush him later. That's what he'll get for rubbing me off like I am nothing but trash." He continued onward and in due time found a great structure, far larger than anything else in the small quaint town. He opened the door with great force as if to establish himself as someone of importance.
    "Name's Leonard Argyle Radcliff and I want my Pokemon."
    Pallet Town Continued: You are Lucky I have this Extra
    The opened door revealed a laboratory that was frozen in time. Clearly the individuals did not expect a sudden arrival; much less one was demanding was Leon. The small army of assistants all shifted their focus from Leon to the man in the back. He was an older man of fair size and strength. His gray hair conveyed wisdom and experience, as well as de facto leadership. Leon nodded in acknowledgement when the assistants returned their focus to him and made his way through the laboratory, until he stood before the Professor.
    "How may I help you….Leonard was it?" he asked.
    "You heard me Oak! I want a Pokemon! A Charmander actually. And then I will accept the Pokemon League challenge and become the next champion," Leon stated with confidence, enough to sound arrogant. Professor Oak froze and his expression became serious quickly. Leon noticed this and became frustrated: "What? You give out Pokemon, right? Well I want one. So hand me a Charmander. It isn't that hard."
    "Well my boy, I don't have a Charmander to give you," Oak replied with an innocent smile.
    "Say what? Who has my Charmander?!"
    "A trainer about your age with blonde hair and a red clothing. His name is Tai, I believe." Leon went in a trance and his mind began a series of flashbacks. Wait a minute, he said in his mind. That trainer….The one I bumped into a few moments ago. He had my Charmander!
    "I am going to kill him!!!!!" Leon turned around and began to bolt out of the lab ripping the door open and slamming it in shut in a seamless motion. Oak sighed and ordered the aides to chase after him before he destroyed something. A few moments later, the aides successfully subdued the angry young man and presented him to the Professor.
    "Calm down for a second. I have one Pokemon left and it may suit you better than the Charmander I gave the other boy." Oak shuffled over to his desk and presented Leon with a Pokeball and all the necessary supplies needed to become a trainer. Leon's rage was temporarily mended and snatched the supplies from the elderly man. "Now, if you want to catch up the other group I suggest you hurry north to Viridian." Leon nodded in response and began to make his departure.
    "Hey old man!" Oak looked at him in response. "You won't regret giving me this Pokemon. I will be Champion and I'll crush those other trainers. Just watch." Oak simply smiled and waved goodbye as Leon made his way out.
    "You sure giving him a Pokemon was a good idea?" One of his aides asked.
    "I think he would make a good rival. He had a certain level of intensity that could make the others better because of it."
    Route 1: The Contract
    Desperately wanting to catch up to his soon to be rivals, Leon wasted little town plowing through Route 1. The hasty stride was broken by a sudden disturbance in the force. His freshly received Pokeball broke itself open and revealed a small yellow creature coming out of the flashing white light. An awkward silence conquered the scene. Only small sounds, just as grass rustling, wind blowing and the occasional cry of a Pokemon could be heard, but those ambient sounds failed to overcome the silence that dominated the moment.
    "You've got to be kidding me…" he muttered under his breath. "OAK! You senile old man! This little midget suits me better!? I wanted a fire lizard! At least that's powerful!"
    "Pika!" the Pokemon replied angrily as it began charging an electrical attack.
    "Electricity? What the….?"
    Leon stared at is device in confusion (mostly at the idea of it counting down) before a lightning wave was unleashed from the Pikachu. The wave of energy overwhelmed Leon and sent him to crashing to the ground. Twitching in pain, Leon struggled to regain any sort of footing and ultimately failed, preferring to lie on the ground in defeat for the first time in a long time.
    "Pika!" It said proudly, standing over the man's body in victory.
    "I am guessing that was a warning shot, eh?" Leon stated in response as he sat up, slightly scared at the prospect of getting shocked again. He chose his next words carefully: "You wanted to show me you aren't a joke. I can respect that. In fact, promise me that you won't shock me again and I won't stick you in that Pokeball you broke out of. Something tells me you didn't like it much to begin with." The Pikachu pause for a bit and then nodded in agreement. "Good. Now you look like you have a fair share of power in there and plenty of potential. How about…..Zeus? Like the name Zeus? Its from mythology. It is the God of Thunder's name. The yellow mouse's face perked up as if it understood the power that came from the name. "Seems we have a good name on our hands. Now come on. We got wild Pidgey to fry." Zeus followed his master accordingly liking the idea of beating up a few Pokemon all the way.
    Route 1/ Viridian City: Battle Experience
    With Zeus becoming a fairly loyal follower, Leon took it upon himself to put Zeus on a strenuous training regime in order to become powerful enough to dispose of their foes. Before departing from Route 1, Leon made sure that Zeus would be an effective weapon to use in order not only dominate the Pokemon league, but also to beat that blonde trainer as a means of revenge. Making their way through the serene and picture perfect Route 1, the duo came across a gathering of wild bird-like pokemon.
    Pokemon Adventures I: Kanto Saga!
    "Looks like a perfect sparring partner then. Zeus! I want you to go in there and blast every last one of those Pidgey with your Thundershock attack," Leon ordered. Accepting his orders, Zeus charged into the middle of the flock Pidgey and blasted one of the Pidgey, leaving a little more than a charred corpse in his wake. The other Pidgey grew restless and began to scatter fluttering away in fear. One remained, possibly the leader, and sought justice for the vile act that Zeus committed. To begin their battle, Pidgey kicked up the surrounding terrain into Zeus' eyes with a sand attack.
    "Piiiiika….." Zeus moaned in anger.
    "Zeus! Counterattack with a Thundershock!" Zeus fired the electric randomly into air, still blinded by the dirty tactic of his opponent. Seeing a perfect opportunity, the Pidgey tackled Zeus causing the mouse to roll across the ground in agony. "Get back up, Zeus and use Thunder Wave!" Zeus forced himself up despite being rattled by the tackle and launched a Thunder Wave into the air which barely made contact with the Pidgey. Seemingly unaffected, the Pidgey made another pass and struck Zeus with another tackle. "Zeus, make him scared with a Growl" Zeus unleashed a fierce growl in the face of the Pidgey. Its spirit still strong, Pidgey went for the diving tackle once again, however, something was different. Its flight was slower and closer to the ground, the wings were stiff and not packing the same fortitude it once did. Then like a meteor crashing to Earth, the Pidgey collapsed and fell to the ground. "Go Zeus! Finish it!" Seizing the opportunity, Zeus mounted the fallen bird and unleashed a barrage of electricity in the form of a Thundershock, successfully defeating the foolish Pidgey.
    "Pikachu!" Zeus roared with pride. Tired, the Pokemon collapsed.
    "Zeus!" Leon yelled before rushing over to his fallen comrade. "Aw man, I guess the fighting tuckered you out." Picking up the unconscious Pokemon, Leon carried him over to Virdian City, which wasn't too far much to their luck. Leon avoided several packs of Rattata and hid away from a few flocks of Pidgey in the process. It was an ordeal for sure, but Leon was determined to deliver his newfound comrade to a healing center instead of forcing him to go through another battle which would cause further damage.
    Following his travel, Leon reached the city limits. Doing a quick lap around the city, Leon eventually found the Pokemon Center and instantly delivered Zeus to the front desk demanding him to be healed. The beautiful nurse agreed to his demands and processed Zeus accordingly. In a few short moments, Zeus was back on his feet and ready to go. "Well, while we are here we may as well pick up a few supplies from the store." Making his way around the city, Leon entered the Pokemon Store. Throwing a rather large amount of money on the table he picked up 5 Pokeballs and 5 Potions. "To Pewter City!"
    Route 2: First Capture
    Leon left the limits of Viridian in a hurry, not wanting to remain in the city for long. He felt as if he had been falling behind in some race and wanted to advance faster than before. Leon decided that following a brief rest (one long ago that his travels kept only a route behind the original group), he was to head out and continue his quest,
    Sprinting through Route 2 was a fairly easy feat. It was fairly level so changes in elevation were minimal making running not very challenging. Many of the wild Pokemon were passive and any aggressive ones were easily thwarted by Zeus's thunderous attacks, as the majority of them were insolent Pidgeys who probably caught wind of the duo's doings on Route 1. An obstacle presented itself only a few hundred yards from the ominous entrance to the forest that nestled itself between Viridian forest and Pewter city. It was a smaller Pokemon, but seem to strike fear in the surrounding wild Pokemon.
    Pokemon Adventures I: Kanto Saga!
    "Lets catch it. Zeus, get ready to attack it." Zeus assumed a battle position and realized that the Nidoran was waiting for him to make the first move. "Alright, it isn't very smart. Take it down with a Thunder Wave." A wave of electricity blasted through the air and make direct contact with the purple fiend. Forcing itself to move despite intense difficulty, the Nidoran responded with a peck, terrorizing Zeus' vulnerable head. Angry, Zeus did not await an order overwhelmed the opponent with a Thundershock. Cooked and near death, the Nidoran was unable to fight back and Leon leaped on the opportunity. Tossing a Pokeball with all his might, the ball absorbed the Pokemon in a red flash. It shook for only a moment. The catch was successful. "All right! We did it! High five Zeus!" The two cheered. Grabbing the ball from the ground, Leon and Zeus skipped in their joy and entered the dark woods….
  • Viridian Forest: Weeds
    Rats and Rats entered the forest. The canopies of the trees prevented much sunlight from entering the ground level with the exception of the occasional ray. Having just entered the main trail, numerous trainers were seen hiking in both directions. Joey was on his trainer's shoulder, listening to the sounds of wild Pokémon, hoping that one of them would be a distress call from his own species. It was nearing dusk as the two walked to the side of the trail and started to stalk the crowd for any obvious signs of rookies. Such signs would include general lack of knowledge of surviving on their own, including not knowing how to set up a simple camp. The street rat looked at his Pokémon companion and said "So, who's contestant number one?"
    The two decided to split up and enhance their efforts in finding the missing Rattata. Joey would go an ask any docile Pokémon if they had heard or seen anything while Ratz would obviously 'talk' to the trainers. Ratz' first lead proved fruitless. The trainer was a few years younger than he was, and asking for tips on how to beat the first gym leader. When asked what his Pokémon were, the trainer responded with a Pidgey and Caterpie. Ratz suggested to he add something to beat the gym leader's type, although the trainer told Ratz that his current party was just fine. When asked about any knowledge of disturbances on Route 1, he said he didn't know anything.
    For his second interrogation, Ratz decided to not trade favors. Finding another young trainer starting to make a camp fire, he went up to the unsuspecting lad and shoved him to the ground and pinned him to the dirt. This time, Ratz demanded information and threatened the boy harm if he didn't say what the violent trainer wanted to hear. Unfortunately, all this energy went to waste, as he had no idea either. This cycle went on until Seamus gave up after fifteen tries. Joey had little difference in luck, as all the Pokémon asked likewise had no idea.
    The duo met up, both shaking their heads in defeat. "Looks like we'll have to try again later."We know the person who captured him is probably a new trainer, meaning they'll be heading for Pewter in the morning. So, we just spring an ambush near the exit and jump any kid passing by. It'll also give us a chance to meet up with those three Oak wanted me to help out with surviving on their own." The Rattata nodded in agreement, letting out a squeak to try to add to the conversation as they walked down the trail.
    After a brief twenty minutes of walking, the two came across a rather awkward scene. A Wheedle was fighting a Cater pie, and there was no trainer in sight, which is quite peculiar considering both having rather gentle natures. The Wheedle was clearly winning, and badly at that. "Looks like we'll be lending our assistance." Ratz said to his partner, before ordering a Quick Attack on the bug with the large stinger. Joey quickly tackled the bug without a second going by, and right before the Wheedle could deliver a finishing blow. The Wheedle stood back up and used string shot on Joey. The smooth silky substance landed on the dirt, and caused Joey to slip and fall as a result of losing traction. Not giving up without a fight, Joey got back on his feet and Tackled the Wheedle.
    With little hesitation, Ratz threw a Pokeball at the Wheedle and made contact. The bug disintegrated into a red energy and entered the pokeball. The small sphere shook wildly for three seconds before the Pokémon within gave up and allowed itself to be captured. Ratz picked up his new battle partner and added the pokeball to his belt. "Good work." he exclaimed to Joey. The Cater pie that was rescued squealed in joy and nodded graciously before limping away. When the Cater pie turned its back on the two rats, a sinister smile appeared on Ratz's face as he ordered Joey to perform another quick attack. . .
  • Viridian Forest: Talk of the Town
    Leon likes to call himself a brave man, not easily stirred or frightened. However, there are two things that scare him and Viridian Forest had the more tangible fear in spades: Bugs. Leon despised bugs ever since the dramatic experience with a Venomoth at the age of 4. As such, Leon took extreme care when entering the woods. The sunlight broke through the trees in certain spots, causing the forest to have beautiful mix of light and shade decorating the sea of grass under his feet. The wildlife in the woods provided a beautiful soundtrack giving the small forest a signature sound. Grasping a Pokeball from his belt, Leon summoned his new capture, Nidoran , to the field. The reason for this was twofold. First he wanted twice the protection when enterting these woods. Zeus would likely give me create protection, but he would leave at least one flank exposed. Second, he wanted Zeus to have some company. "Alright rookie! I got your first order: Protect me from those disgusting bugs!" The Nidoran stared at his master attentively, recognizing the order but not really reacting to it as the prospect of having a master was far too novel to him. Leon sighed, "Do you know what I am saying…um…um….come to think of it, I never gave you a name. Hey Zeus!" The Pikachu, who was wandering the surrounding area, rushed back to his master until his was in earshot. "We need to give the new guy a name, any ideas?" Zeus shrugged his shoulders, not particularly caring about the ordeal to bother thinking about it and continued to scout the area seeking weak Pokemon to prey on. Sitting on the cold hard ground, Leon pondered long and hard seeking a new name for his Pokemon.
    Then his concentration was broken. At first he couldn't pinpoint what it was, but the growls of his Nidoran brought his attention to a human figure approaching him. Dressed in old choice of a plan white t-shirt and shorts topped off with a straw hat, the young boy was holding a variety of supplies suited to the outdoors such as net which would be used to catch bugs. "Based on the fact you got Pokemon on you, you must be a trainer, therefore you must accept my challenge!" The bug catcher stated with confidence. Leon smirked, and picked himself off the ground, smacking the dirt off his clothing the best he could.
    "A challenge, eh? I am always up for something. What do you got in mind?"
    "Isn't it obvious? A Pokemon battle! My collection of bugs will defeat you with ease."
    "Aren't you a confident one? Well, I could always use a little workout. Try and last a while will ya?"
    The bug catcher clenched his teeth in anger, before calming himself the best he could, almost aware that Leon was doing his best to provoke him. "Go Caterpie!" he ordered, tossing his ball forward. In the wake of the white lights was a small green bug-like creature.
    Pokemon Adventures I: Kanto Saga!
    Leon was disgusted by its sight, and the once confident smirk was replaced a more sickly expression. "Rookie! Handle this one. Make sure it regrets the day it was born." Nidoran ran from his master's side into the field of battle, staring down the Caterpie for a few seconds. Each one looked ready to tear the other apart, though the Nidoran appeared far surer of itself than the Caterpie (probably because he had a horn and some teeth). "Nidoran, use Leer!" Nidoran's eyes glowed, striking fear some unneeded fear into the Caterpie. Rattled, the lowly bug awaited his master's order.
    "Let's slow him down with string shot." Silk-like webbing launched from the mouth of the bug and tied up the poision pin Pokemon's legs, causing him to crash to the ground with a large thud. Leon winced in pain at the sight of it. "Good job, Caterpie. He slowed down. Here's our chance! Follow up with a tackle." Charging with as much as speed as his body can muster, the Caterpie struck the Nidoran with a surprising amount of force considering the relative small size of the bug.
    "Shake it off, Nidoran. Let's use peck on his face and end this!" Nidoran rolled back to his feet and shook his head, as if he removed the thought of pain from his head. A new sense of ferocity was discovered in the Nidoran and he unleashed upon the meager Caterpie. Leaping into the air, the Nidoran crashed ontop of the Caterpie, pecking his head in the process. As the dust cleared, the Caterpie was found defeated and the Nidoran stood proudly in victory. "Looks like that move was super effective, Bug Catcher. I hope you got someone else in your party a little stronger."
    "Of course, I do! Got Metapod!" The white light revealed a new opponent. It was a dark green cocoon, making it more revolting and intimidating than the last one. Leon closed his eyes and puked (in a figurative sense).
    Pokemon Adventures I: Kanto Saga!
    As the battle began, the Metapod made its move first, as Nidoran's legs were still hampered by the Caterpie's string shot from earlier. "Harden!" The bug catcher ordered and the Metapod's shell appeared to glow as the outer coat became a mirror, reflecting the small shreds of sunlight that penetrated the upper canopy.
    "Bah!" Leon exclaimed. "That move is going to stop any attack. Nidoran, finish it quickly with another Peck. I am tired of this wimp." The bug catcher stomped his foot at the insult, but quickly halted as the Nidoran prepared for the attack. Instead of being fancy, the Nidoran simply charged and fired a peck at the Metapod's core. Nidoran, however, only delivered a glancing blow scratching the outer shell. Metapod appeared shaken by the attack though, suggesting damage was dealt.
    "Metapod, harden again!" Metapod repeated the process, becoming a glistening shell once again.
    "You know the drill by now! Peck!" Nidoran, like a bull seeing red, charged again leaving a deeper cut than before.
    "Harden again! We'll break the charge!" Metapod harden once more, the shell reflecting the surrounding environment.
    "Nidoran! One more peck and he'll be done!" The Nidoran blindly charged and struck the core with a demonizing peck. The shell appeared to shatter and the Bug catcher used the red light from the Pokeball to gather the pieces in order to return him to the Pokemon Center.
    "Man, you are one hell of trainer. A mean one too. Almost as bad as that other trainer," the bug catcher whimpered with his head down in shame.
    "Other trainer?" Leon's eyes sparkled with interest. Motioning Zeus and Nidoran to follow him, Leon slowly made his way across the battlefield to face the trainer eye to eye. The bug catcher slowly lifted his head, tears in eyes. He gulped. "What do you know about this trainer?"
    "Not much," the trainer sniffed. "I only heard a few things from the other guys. He's become the talk of the town recently."
    "Okay, what have you heard about him?"
    "Well, he isn't the nicest guy for one. He's been bullying some of the other trainers. Asking a lot of questions, too. I have no idea what he's after. Sorry, I can't be of much more help but I gotta heal the Pokemon that you beat. Good luck to you."
    "Thanks, kid. But I won't need your luck," Leon chuckled. "I'll be just fine." Leon started walking deeper into the woods, thinking to himself. From what the Bug catcher said, there is a tough trainer in the woods. It had to be Tai. Packing a Charmander would certainly make him a powerful force and why wouldn't you bully some kids into submission and secure your place as the best? He stopped in his tracks for a second and took a knee, looking at his Nidoran. "By the way, good job in there Rookie. I got a name for you thanks to that little fight. Ares. It's a good name for a fighter like yourself." The Nidoran seemed to smile with new energy. "Now, back in the ball." Leon returned Ares into his ball and placed it on his belt. With a little hand sign, Leon motioned Zeus to take a spot on his shoulder.
    Looking around at his surroundings and realizing that a sea of green was around him, Leon couldn't help but feel a little trapped in the lost woods that was Viridian Forest.
  • OOC: Can't see the last post. I've encountered this problem on a different forum and it usually gets fixed if you make a post after it. Let's hope this works. :D
    Edit:
    Ok, it worked, and now I have a spam post. I'll re-edit this again and type up a real post after work...but now it's bed time. :D
    Edit2: Ok, it seems I forgot to edit this post with the RP, and made a new one....oh well. :P
    Spoiler:
    When Tai was fighting with Team Rocket, Cecil and Iris were standing atop a building and chatting amiably. Speaking, they began to gain a more adequate understanding of everything in general. Beneath the stars the earth itself, rotating, moved; all things moved with it. Suddenly a great explosion shook the earth, and Cecil blinked in surprise.
    "Who caused this explosion? Who committed such a crime?" said Cecil. "I certainly hope no one has been seriously hurt." Lost in thoughts for a moment, he decided to leave the balcony on an impulse to check on Tai. He owed no personal obligations to the loud, sometimes boisterous boy (or rather, he corrected with half-raised eyebrows, probably boisterous all of the time.) He nodded, and smiled in courtesy to Iris, blurting out a hasty "I'll be right back; I'm checking on our traveling companion". His mind was a little cluttered, senses slightly overloaded from seeing and hearing the burst of sound and light.
    His aquamarine eyes glowed with a fervent energy. No one knew what the cause of this was; but he was said to be a character that was somewhat out of touch with the real world. He was faintly aware of someone that followed behind him, the metal door to the balcony being opened a second time.
    He pushed open the door to Tai's room with force, and exclaimed to an empty room. "Oi! Sugimori! There's something happening! Where on earth…"
    Hesitating a second, he immediately made up his mind that Tai was involved in this… somehow. Likely not in a positive way. A part of him thought that perhaps they should simply leave the obtuse young man here, but he supposed others might wish otherwise… He glanced behind him, and the form of Iris was there.
    "What do you make of this, Fujihara-san?"
    He blinked, trying to ascertain if the pale visage before him was illusory in appearance or otherwise.
    "Fujihara-san?"
    "Furorusuparu-kun… where did Sugimori-kun disappear to, do you think?"
    He was silent for a moment, pondering again. A second later, a smile appeared on his face, an expression almost murderously angry at the same time in nature.
    "That… idiot."
    He checked the time; it was 8:35, possibly one or two minutes off. His expression morphed into a more serious one once again.
    "Would you like to come with me, Fujihara-san? I'm going to look for him. He's probably connected to the explosion that we saw and heard outside. It's rather late, so I don't recommend it, but even so..."
    He shrugged. "Of course, I will try my best to keep you out of danger if that comes up." Another smile, this one born of confidence rather than annoyance, its radiance unlike most other expressions that he had been used to in the past few months.
    "I'll hold you to your word, then, Furorusuparu-kun." And she smiled, as well.
    "Cecil is fine, I think." With this, Cecil gently took her hand and led them into the night, setting a decently brisk pace. The atmosphere was much changed, from panic to an almost cheerful sensation, if they could forget what was at hand.
    The air hummed with the activity of autumn, the insects from summer still lingering in the surrounding grasses. The sky was cloudless outside, a bright, disc-like full moon engraved into a beautiful field of stars. The glow from the celestials shone down on the earth, perhaps in reminiscence of some prior event, as they set off in sharp pursuit.
  • Viridian Forest: One Tree Hill
    The battle with the Caterpie was a short one. In its weakened state, the small bug-type stood no chance of winning against the fairly unscathed Rattata. After the battle was over and capture was successful, Ratz held both collapsed pokeballs in one hand, peering into the two of them. These were his first captures, and managed to procure them in less than a minute apart from each other. That must've been some kind of record, or at least he thought so. He pulled out his handbook, hoping to gain some knowledge on the creatures. Through skimming, it was revealed that the bug types are highly regarded in the eyes of new trainers because they could reach their finals forms the fastest, and provide a much needed boost to a trainer's team. It was this little jewel of information that put a smirk on the teenager's face. "They're weak now," he said to no one in particular, although Joey raised his ears, "but they'll become strong very soon."
    After applying a potion to each bug through the pokeball*, Ratz wanted to meet his new party members. Taking a ball in each hand, he pressed the center button to make the containers grow, and then released both in a brilliant white light. Both bugs seemed a bit confused, as being captured was a new endeavor for the two of them. Upon readjusting their eyes, both noticed the other, and started to quarrel once again. The fight became an entanglement of pale orange-yellow and green until Ratz started to shout at the undisciplined Pokémon. "TWEEDLE-DUM &TWEEDLE-DEE! ENOUGH!" he roared with his fists clenched, clearly angered that the two still refused to fight. Both fighter's immediately ceased fire, and huddled together near a tree in sheer terror, attempting to seek shelter from the other.
    Witnessing what his anger had down to the two docile Pokémon, he calmed his voice. "Look, I'm not gonna hurt you. You two are a part of my team now, and we'll beat plenty of chumps together. I just need you guys to relax and cut the crap." Both looked up unsurely, trying to make out how honest the kid with the rattail was. Ratz put his hand up to his head, as if he was attempting to suppress a headache. "Joe, can you talk sense into these guys?" The Rattata jumped off his master's shoulder and started to speak to his peers. A short conversation ran between the three of them, to which the human could not understand for the life of him. It ended with both insects nodding in agreement before taking steps towards their trainer. Now with three Pokémon taking his commands, the young man felt a high of invincibility, one that was surely wasn't deserved nor needed. "Now," Ratz said while walking away from his team, "follow me. We're gonna do some training and make you be all that you can be."
    Three hours went by as the four started to train. More Weedle and Caterpie ran amuck, and even some of their second stage evolutions. This time allowed all four to become accustomed to the art of battle. While the three Pokémon learned to obey the trainer's orders and attack their opponent, Ratz learned to better command his squad. It was a learning experience for all, and would prove very useful for reference later on in the future. With the basics down, Ratz decided it was quitting time for the day, and got back onto the trail. Though the last few hours provided a distraction, he did not forget both tasks he was given, and started to look for a good ambush spot to surprise other trainers at.
    Not far after looking, they found a prime example of an ambush point. It was a tree with thick, leafy branches hovering very low and above the trail way. It was a very good spot to jump down from. Climbing onto said tree, Ratz made his way onto the target branch. His Pokémon followed, and made it in less time than he did, thanks to their string shot move, and Joey's quick attack move. Upon looking down, Ratz realized one big flaw in the plan; while the branch was low, it was still too high for him to safely drop down without potentially causing some serious damage to himself in the process. The trainer pondered for a moment before looking at his bug Pokémon, which flicked a switch, causing the light bulb to flash. He would use the string shot attack as a pseudo-bungee cord.
    Deciding to test the idea before putting it into practice, he had Caterpie, "Tweedle-dum," hit his back with the gooey substance. Lightly letting himself fall off the tree, Ratz was surprised, and yet pleased, by the fact that the string held on, and that Caterpie was strong enough to hold him up. Then, once again, a pothole came into his plan. While Dum was perfectly capable of not letting him fall, he was not strong enough to reel him back up. Thankfully, Ratz caught a second bug, as the combined strength of both Dee and Dum proved more than enough to carry him back up the tree.
    "Showtime." Ratz said five minutes later, now wearing the modified uniform the man from the heist gave him not too long ago. The black pants and shirt would help camouflage him from sight, giving him a chance to better get the jump on any victim. While keeping a look out, many trainers came by both directions, though many weren't kids, and had more than enough Pokémon on them to indicate that they weren't starting trainers. While watching, a large scraping sound could be heard off in the distance, along with other battle noises, which sounded like someone was taking a chisel to a hard surface. Ratz paid no mind and continued keeping watch.
    About twenty minutes passed and he finally hit gold. A trainer was walking with what looked like a mouse and some sort of horned bunny closely behind him. "This has to be a new trainer," he thought silently to himself. "There's no other way he'd walk proudly with those two instead of some sort of fire dragon lizard or something." Giving Dee and Dum the signal, the two bugs held a firm grip with their string shot as Ratz dropped down. Grabbing the trainer from behind, the bug Pokémon attempted to hoist the trainers up in the air, but were both not strong enough for their collective weights. Joey helped, carefully putting the string shot in his mouth without snipping it with his large teeth. While in the air, Ratz spoke through his teeth loudly for his captive to hear him. "Were you on Route 1 at all today?!"
  • Well, you are an idiot.
    The girl looked at the two people she had just saved. One was an old man, the other a young boy, probably the same age as her. She let out a sigh and sat down next to her Persian. "I certainly can't leave them here while they are unconscious.." She mumbled. After all she had saved them after all so she felt she held some responsibility of helping them get home safely.
    "Urff.....Snacks..." The boy was beginning to regain consciousness. The girl quickly looked at him and sighed in irritation.
    "So, you're up?" She told him. The boy looked like he was still in a bit of a fog, "It seems your still a bit out of it. Here, eat this it'll help wake you up." The girl handed him a small Oran Berry. He slowly took the berry from her hands and shoved it in his mouth.
    "Wait, where am I? Who are you?! Are you in team rocket?!" As soon as the Oran berry took effect (which was almost immediately) he was yelling a flurry of questions at her. She gave an irritated sigh.
    "Just outside the Viridian forest, my name is Lily, and no I am not in Team Rocket. I'm offended you would even say that to the person who RESCUED your sorry hide." An awkward silence fell between them again.
    "Rescued?" The boy looked a bit shocked by this, "Shouldn't it be the other way around?" This statement invoked a glare from Lily's Persian.
    "You do realize how sexist that sounds, right?" Lily said. Her tone was a little more than annoyed. Persian was more than ready to unleash a slash on the boy and in a desperate attempt to protect himself he placed his bag between the Persian and himself.
    "I'm sorry! I was taught that a man should always rescue a women!" The boy yelled as the Persian was giving him another infuriated glare. Lily's tone softened and she giggled a little bit.
    "Alright Persian, enough glaring your scaring him." Lily returned the Persian to its Pokeball, "I like you, boy. What's your name?"
    The boy breathed a sigh of relief as the Persian disappeared into its Pokeball, "Tai. Tai Sugimori."
    "Well Tai, as I said before my name is Lily. I don't really need to give my last name, as long as you know my first name that's enough." Lily said cheerfully. Although one could not see Lily's appearance it was quite obvious she was smiling.
    "Heh, that's funny. You're the second girl in 24 hours that has the name of a flower." Tai said and grinned.
    ".......What kind of flower was it?" Lily asked
    "Her name is Iris, what about it? Do you know her?" Tai asked. A small smirk came across Lily's face. An eerie silence fell between the two.
    "I knew it...." Lily thought, "Things are going to get quite interesting very soon." While she was thinking she had not noticed Tai was standing uncomfortably close to her. "Can I get some personal space? Your way to close for comfort."
    "HOW DO YOU KNOW IRIS?!" Tai yelled, startled from the shout Lily pushed him away from her. but still the boy persisted her on interrogating her about Iris.
    "I'm an old friend of hers, we haven't seen each other in awhile so I was surprised that she would be traveling with you! And stop freaking yelling, I'm not deaf yah know!" Lily yelled She was growing increasingly annoyed with Tai and his voice, "Why do you want to know anyway?!"
    "Sorry I'm just making sure you won't hurt her...She's very special to me." Tai mumbled. Lily stood there in shock.
    "Oh? A crush? Well this is turning out more amusing then I thought it'd be." Lily laughed and turned away from Tai. She smirked once again, "Well, I must be on my way. Now that your fully awake I don't have to babysit you anymore."
    "Wait! Where are you going?" Tai asked her. This provoked another smirk from Lily.
    "Team Rocket is everywhere, so everywhere I suppose." Lily said. She knew this wouldn't be their last meeting, and next time, "Next time..." Lily thought.
    "Well alright, I admire your effort to stop Team Rocket. Just know, if you need an ally I'm just a call away. Well actually, not a call I don't know where I'll be. Actually, I'm not sure if we'll ever meet again...Hmm...." Tai said. Lily let out a sarcastic laugh.
    "You're not much of an ally if you get beaten so easily by Team Rocket!" Lily was amused by his efforts at attempting to help.
    "WHAT? Well sorry for not defeating an evil organization...THE DAY I STARTED THIS DAMN JOURNEY!!!" Tai yelled. Lily laughed again.
    "Here's some advice, get stronger. And don't worry we'll meet again. Hehehe...and next time maybe I can tease you a bit more but now I must be off to Mount Moon. Good luck..you'll need it." Lily smirked and disappeared into the darkness of the forest leaving Tai in darkness with the only light being the dim moonlight.
    OoC: Per requested by Ricky he will write the meet up. This post was strictly in Lily's point of view and most of this dialogue was discussed between Ricky and myself.
  • The never-ending rain drops striking the soil of the forest floor was the only sound he could hear, his cold body lying on the dirt floor was the only thing he could think of at the moment. His body sprawled out on the ground, and the remains of his broken Pokeballs before him. Everything else was non-existent. This ambiance was all too familiar to him.
    'It hurts...my body feels heavy...' These lonely thoughts entered the boy's mind, his dull eyes fixated on the floor before him soaked by the rain drops that fell. He could feel himself laying on his stomach, his body soaking wet. He could only think it was water, but he felt his shoulders a bit warmer. Thats because of the blood that poured out of them.
    'It's cold...I've felt like this before...' He thought, the bright crimson that his eyes held were now gone and left behind lifeless eyes that looked up at the faint sounds of footsteps. Despite the sounds being so drowned out and faint, the figure was right before him. The person was cloaked, its hood looked down upon his dying body and stood there. That's the last thing he remembered...
    'I-It doesn't hurt...am I about to die?' He felt his body weightless, almost non-existent. Just floating there, 'At first I felt my body was freezing, and now...it's so warm...I feel no saddness, nothing...I feel no hunger. But is that right? I'm always hungry.' His lifeless eyes searched the area before him, nothing but a large dark violet void was before him. He heard a voice, but no one was around. As if by some strange instinct, he held out his hand and took hold of something. He looked at his hand and saw a small blue berry materialize, 'Am I really...dead? I can get food whenever I want?' He popped the blue berry into his mouth and tasted nothing, was he truly dead?
    He felt his body come back into its normal state and his weary eyes flickered, the bright crimson returning. He turned to see a cloaked figure, its head turned to look at him, "GyaaAAAAAaaaaaAAAAAAhhHHHhh!" He staggered back a bit and screeched at the top of his lungs, "Who the HELL are you?! MORE Team Rocket?!"
    "My name is Lily, and no I'm not Team Rocket." Her voice sounded a bit aggitated, but the blonde boy payed no attention.
    'Wait, I'm not dead? Why not...?' He thought.
    The dim moonlight bathed the night time plains outside of Viridian Forest, the scorched earth and torn-up trees were all that was left of his battle with Team Rocket. Tai Sugimori was indeed a lucky boy, Lilly had saved him and sure enough is the only reason he's still alive. He looked over at the old man he was lugging around, Roshi. The old man tried and save him too, that's two people who saved him.
    'Unacceptable...' He thought to himself and clenched his teeth, he can't keep letting other people get hurt for his stupid acts. He looked down at his belt to notice a strange absence of pokeballs, but the memory soon clicked in his mind. He had let them go in order to save them, and their Pokeballs were destroyed. The idea of his Pokemon safe from harm relieved him.
    "Uh-?" Tai looked over mildly surprised when Roshi began to mumble a bit and soon woke up, he let the old man sit down gently and poked him on the forehead. The old man bobbed his head back and forth softly before opening his eyes just a bit, "OI! Ojii-san!" Tai continued to poke the old man until he grabbed Tai by the finger and flung the boy a couple yards away. He landed on his neck with his legs in the air, shocked at what the man had did.
    "What the hell was that for?!"
    "What the hell were you poking me for?!"
    "Sugimori-Kun!" The feminine voice broke their bickering, and Tai's ears perked up. His crimson eyes lit up and a warm smile grew on his face, he looked over to see Iris and Cecil running down the road. Even though he was completely beat-up, dirty, bleeding and his clothes were torn he still managed to smile. She was indeed beautiful, then he looked over at Cecil. He had decided; Iris doesn't deserve to be involved with someone who hurts those he loves, so his feelings for her were to stay dormant for the rest of their journey together. Or so he would try.
    "Fujihara-Chan! Cecil-Kun!" Tai waved at his two companions, Roshi getting up by himself and snorting as the three smiled and hugged each other. Tai patted Cecil's back a little violently, but only because he was happy he came and actually showed concern for him. Tai's eyes widened when he saw a small orang lizard and brown bird rushing towards him,
    "CHARCO! GEE!" The Charmander leaped onto the boy, contrary to Gee's action of simply perching himself on a nearby branch.
    <What do you mean, WE'RE safe! YOU'RE ALIVE!!> Charco smiled.
    <Yeah, I was almost certain you died.> The Pidgey said coldly,
    "Thanks Gee. Well anyways, your Pokeballs were destroyed. So for the time being you'll have to stay outside with me." Charco and Gee accepted it and Tai quickly turned to Roshi.
    "Ojii-San! Let's go back to Viridian, eh?!" Tai smiled and Roshi nodded, "Oh, and also. How about some PAY UP for me saving you?" Roshi groaned good-naturedly, and the group began walking back to Viridian.
    "How does dinner sound?" Roshi smiled, and Tai drooled a bit.
    "OoooOOoooh yeah, that sounds great! I can't cook and Charco burns everything! Haha."
    "Great, I'll feed you guys and you can go to the Pokemon Center afterwards, Nurse Joy should understand if you tell her what happened."
    So the group walked into the nigh-time Viridian City, deciding to enter Viridian Forest the next morning.
  • OOC: I took a few liberties with this post and assumed that Leon and Ratz could see the surrounding area in some capacity. I had to add some action to the post so I hope its okay. Also, I apolgozie for its length as I didn't have much to say on this one.
    Viridian Forest: Hanging by a Thread
    "Hey, Zeus. See any weak Pokemon around? I'd like to strengthen you guys up a bit before we leave this damn forest and move to bigger things," Leon stated with some notable passion in his voice. He knew at this point that Zeus and Ares were fairly weak in comparison to his competition. It was a fact he didn't exactly enjoy either. He had a rather slow start in comparison, and did not have the opportunity to actually spend time in the previous routes. After a few moments of scouting, Zeus pointed towards a few unsuspecting bugs. They had not noticed the young trainer and his troop of Pokemon. An ambush would be easy to pull off.
    "Alright, perfect. Zeus Use Thunder---AAAHHHHHH!" A pair of large arms snatched the young man and hoisted him into the air. Suddenly his legs did not have the relationship they once had with the ground. Struggling with all his might to escape, Leon discovered he was on the losing end to this battle. Whoever captured him was significantly larger than him and as result far stronger. It was then a voice came from the figure that suspended above the ground.
    "Were you on Route 1 at all today?!" the voice demanded. Leon was confused to say the least. All these theatrics just to ask a lame question like that? What the hell is up with this guy? Well whoever he is, he's got me pinned. Zeus and Ares have no way of freeing him and there isn't any way I can overpower this guy. He's way stronger than me, Leon pondered to himself, still attempting to slip out of the man's grip. Zeus and Ares simply stared at their master, unable to do a thing, acting more like cheerleaders than loyal companions. But Leon knew they wanted to help and little idea of how to do so. It made the situation more bearable. At this point, he figured he had to cooperate…well until an opportunity presented itself to escape.
    "Yeah, I was on Route 1 earlier today. I was simply passing through though. I just went to that old man's place to nab a Pokemon from him. He didn't have the one I wanted, but its whatever. Then I walked through, fried a flock of Pidgey and went on my merry way. What's it to ya, anyway?" Leon replied, not particularly caring what the man had to say in return. Following the man's response (should there be one, as Leon was far too focused on the prospect of not being hugged by the man for much longer) Leon finalized a plan to escape. It was crude to say the least, but he had a feeling it would work and if it didn't…well let's not go too far.
    "Hey, look over there! Isn't that a Mew?!" Leon shouted with enthusiasm. Hoping that the man's concentration was broken for a brief second, Leon swung his head with all his might into his captor, hopefully inflicting some harm to him. Following that moment, Leon began his struggle once more, flailing his arms and legs like a Magickarp out of water. Whether this poorly constructed escape plan all depended on his opponent's pain tolerance.
  • Episode 3: A part
    Kanto Three: Creepy Crawlers and the Second Encounter!
    The early morning mist layered the verdant city of nature in a serene blanket of silence. The soft glowing disc of a sun rose above the trees, lighting the sugary clouds above with a gentle shine. Spearow and Pidgey eagerly hopped among the streets of the city, eating the unfortunate bugs that were run down by vehicles the night before. Everything was peaceful...
    "YOU BASTARD!" A girl's shrill shriek pierced the calm walls of the Viridian Pokemon Center. She had dark hair and wore a Viridian school girl's uniform and was clearly a martial arts fighter by the bandages wrapped around her knuckles. Her face was steaming with anger as she carried one of the cafeteria's desks in her hands. Tai stood hesitantly on the desks in front of her, the Viridian Pokemon Academy was just about to begin, obvioulsy all the girls in a class wanted to grab something to eat before they began class. That's where they met Tai.
    "DIE!" She yelled again and launched the desk she carried at Tai, who merely jumped out of the way. All the other girls wearing the same uniform shrieked with emotions of fear that they were going to get hit by one of the desks their classmate was launching. Tai landed on the floor before her and raised an eyebrow with a mildly amused look on his face,
    "What the heck?! Don't get so upset over a kiss on the cheek. What are you, a third grader?" He looked at her with slight distaste. She replied by rushing at him equipped with another desk.
    "SHUTUP!" The girl screamed again as she slammed the desk at Tai, but the boy leaped out of the way. He chuckled and walked out of the cafeteria, not before saying goodbye to all of the ladies. He dashed out as soon as he saw the girl rushing at him with another desk.
    "Bye!" He smiled, the other girls in the class thought the entire ordeal was rather amusing and giggled as the boy was chased out by their classmate.
    Once Tai had gathered his Pokemon and met up with Cecil and Iris at the lobby, they had departed for Viridian Forest. The trees were large and covered with moss, dangling in strips of grungy fuzz. The grass was knee high in some places; things shifted in the boughs of the mighty trees, their eyes glowing and seeming to taunt the travellers, daring them to walk past. The only path through the forest was a small, thin ribbon of short, run down grass and petite flowers. It was lined with Bug Catchers, children with wide brimmed straw hats and nets, earnestly capturing the bug Pokemon around these parts, battling each other, and being relative...well...kids. The Bug Catchers didn't seem to mind the creepiness of the forest; they were probably used to it.
    Tai had a small fear of spiders and cockroaches, luckily there were no such Pokemon species in Viridian Forest. He didn't mind Caterpie or Weedle, but his eyes darted around nervously, <What are you doing?> Charco asked amused.
    "I'm looking around just in case a Spider Pokemon were to crawl onto me and take me as its prisoner!" Tai showed Charco a diagram he drew with a little chibi Tai being dragged off by a Spider in a web net with an evil frowny face. "You understand?"
    <Yeah, but with your drawings its hard to tell which ones you and which ones the Spider.> Gee shot at Tai, who frowned and returned the Pidgey to the new Pokeball Professor Oak had given him to replace the broken one.
    "ACK SOMETHING MOVED! IT WAS A MUTATED SPIDER POKEMON!" He sunk behind Charco, eyes darting around nervously.
    "It's only a Caterpie, I think...that's rather unbecoming of you, Sugimori." Cecil looked at the worm Pokemon.
    "Cowyee?" The Caterpie looked up at Tai with a smile. The boy grinned, "Awesome! A Caterpie, I wanna catch it!" He grinned and peered at it, and in return got a face full of string shot.
    "SH*T! GET IF OFF!" The boy clawed at his face desperately and Charco, worried, attempted to help. Squirtle decided to 'help' too and used Bubble on Tai's face. So now not only was he covered in bug mucus, but now was wet. He stomped his foot and peeled the mask and shot a nasty look at Squirtle that made the Pokemon uneasy.
    "Hey there big trainers!" A small boy smiled jovially, the Caterpie crawling over to his side. "I'm Bug Catcher James...but heck, that's not why I came here. I wanted to ask you three if you'd like to battle with me and my friends, we've been watching you for a while now-"
    "What did you say? You've been watching us for awhile? What are you, a stalker?!" Tai demanded, tearing off the last bit of string from his face. The bug catcher chuckled,
    "No, but I see you're a bugger...one of those people bug's instantly take a hating towards. They usually hate grumpy, unpleasant people..." James' two friends walked up behind him and grinned deviously.
    "THAT'S IT KID! YOU'RE GETTING ON MY NERVES! LET'S BATTLE!" Tai shot an evil grin towards the boy and held up Gee's pokeball.
    "1 on 1, you and me! My friends will deal with your friends!" Catcher James grinned.
    "No sweat." Tai smirked.
  • Cecil had quickly learned that he could not have a peaceful morning as long as Sugimori was around. After waking up, he had quickly taken care of his necessities (the toiletries in the Pokemon Centre was sufficient to handle everything), done a perfunctory examination of his visage for specks of dust, and removing his nightgown, he pulled on a new shirt, examined the collar for any wrinkles, and was satisfied that there were none. He did this for every piece of his clothing, cleaning up any imperfections, and changing into new pieces of clothing if it was healthy to do so, per his daily routine. It continued rather uneventfully.
    Unfortunately five minutes later he found himself debating the semantics of hot drinks. A petty way to begin his day, but an offhanded comment (customary, but still…) soon erupted into a very annoying discussion.
    "Coffee…"
    Cecil blinked.
    "So unrefined, to voluntarily pour that muddy water into your stomach some seven times a day…"
    A comment shot out so instinctively, in his native tongue, that he half-expected it to be ignored.
    "Muddy water? It doesn't taste like water at all! It's my life source that I cherish; it tastes like good feelings and makes me feel like everything is right in the universe." And this was said by Sugimori in a perfectly innocent manner, rubbing his coffee mug against his cheek. How was this relevant to the argument at hand? Preposterous. He was somewhat speechless. Defend it, idiot! I already know you're a drinker of coffee…
    "I'm surprised." Closing his eyes for a second. "A tasteless American thinking that coffee contains any semblance of flavor. Of course you would cherish coffee." Surely that would elicit a more proper response! He was very stalwart on his choice of drinks, and he expected others to be as outspoken in their decisions as well.
    "Tasteless? It tastes good!"
    ...
    He was saved from having to formulate another designed-to-get-the-idiot-back-on-track counterargument when Tai decided to in succession kiss a girl on the cheek, get chased after by said girl, and finally get voluntarily kicked out of the cafeteria.
    Blissful silence set in, and he sipped from his porcelain cup (typical English breakfast tea; the blend was intoxicatingly fragrant, the scents of citrus fruits and wine wafting up from the container) in peace.
    Other people were so… illogical, sometimes. Perhaps that was a fact that he had to deal with – the existence of humans were irrational. Looking at Iris's slender, calm form, he could not imagine what similarities she had with Tai. And yet…
    He decided not to think about the matter too deeply, slowly biting the piece of tomato on his fork. Though the "full English breakfast" served here was not quite so authentic a one as he was used to, it was sufficient. Glancing once again at Iris, who was smiling uncertainly at him, a bowl of rice and another of miso soup in front of her, he closed his eyes for another brief instant before allowing his ponderings to come to an end.
    After breakfast they journeyed into Viridian Forest without much event. It was an abrupt change of scenery; Cecil could not understand how entering a large hall and then exiting said hall made such a big difference in atmosphere. It was cooler in the forest, the shade granted by the canopies of the trees making it so. They followed the trail, Cecil resolving beforehand to accompany Iris and let Tai rush forward as he always did. Along the way they encountered some Bug Catchers, trainers with wide-brimmed straw hats, beating the tall grass with smiles on their faces. Surely they could not be more than ten or eleven years of age, the minimum for a trainer's license.
    Tai was apparently fearful of large spiders in the grass, but Cecil pointed out that the Pokemon was only a Caterpie – with a none-too-impressed remark about how it was unbefitting of a gentleman to act with fear in front of a lady. You would think that people would actually know these things, but no, they had to be ill-mannered all the time. Thinking this, Cecil continued to converse with Aria- er, Iris in a lighthearted tone, almost ignoring the surroundings.
    Nothing much captured his interest until Tai ran into a Bug Catcher (James, was it?) that requested a battle with them. Hmm.
    This was going to be hard on Iris's Bulbasaur, as her attacks had a type disadvantage. The best thing she could do in this situation was not to rely on Bulbasaur's elemental attacks and instead use physical moves that affected most types. His Squirtle would be relatively neutral. Squirtle's Bubble would be about as effective as a Vine Whip at the Bug-types right now in his career, so he would have to either get Squirtle to use Tackle (somewhat more effective than Bubble, but not really) or Water Gun, which was probably what he was going to do. Sugimori's Charmander, however, had a type advantage.
    This battle wasn't going to be overtly difficult. Having finished his deliberation, he nodded assent to Tai. If Iris risked loss, surely he would be able to step in for her?
    "Fine."
