Two figures, a man and his Pokemon, came to the top of a lush green hill, looking below at the bustling port below them.
"*Sigh*, looks like we finally made it, Rayne."
"Croco." The Crocanaw agreed at Dante's side. They had been walking for days since Dante received the letter to come to New Bark Town, and now they we finally greeted with the site of the small town. Looking farther, they could see a ship anchored in the port.
"That be it, Rayne, our ship." Dante calmly said, holding back the excitement in his words. "Captain", the words echoed through his head as if someone had just screamed into a canyon. He was going to be captain now, and that meant he had to be serious, just like his father was. Tears began to fill Dante's eye's as the thought of his father filled his mind. Quickly wiping them away, and making sure Rayne didn't see them, Dante headed down the hill, eager to fulfill his dream.
-----
The pair walked through the street of the bustling port-town. Street vendors tried to auction off their sales, traders bartered for better deals, and people fought their ways through the crowded streets, some along with their Pokemon, others alone. Pushing their way through the streets, Dante couldn't help but wonder where Dusk had gone...
Eventually, the two came upon the actual port of the town, where a lone ship stood anchored against the wind. The name Uno bobbed up and down as the ocean's currents gently lifted and dropped the ship.
"Beautiful..." Dante whispered, placing his hand against the side of the ship "Just like the Mist..."
However, Dante's inspection of the ship soon ended, as the subtle sound of a sword leaving it's sheath filled Dante's ears. Dante took his own off of his belt, turning and placing it in front of his face just in time to block an oncoming attack. "Get... Off!" Dante yelled, forcing the man away. The man stumbled back, before regaining his composure and placing his sword at his side. Dante did the same. "You crazy, mate?" He asked the man, pointing his rapier at the man. Rayne jumped by his side, poised for battle.
"Not crazy, I just be teaching you a lesson." The man said as a Breloom jumped down off of the ship, landing opposite of Rayne. "Now 'Loom, use Sky Uppercut!"
The Breloom's fist glowed a sky blue and it began to run at Rayne.
"Quick Rayne, use-" All of a sudden, the man began to run at Dante interupting his command. Dante barely had time to put his sword up to block the oncoming attack. Unfortunately, this was not the case for Rayne, who was knocked into a pile of crates from the powerful attack. Before Dante could say another word, the man quickly recovered and swung wildly once more.
"A captain, needs to be.. alert of all of his surroundings, and must know ... what his crew be doing always..." The man panted between strokes. He quickly jumped back. "'Loom! Bullet Seed!"
Dante turned just in time to see green seeds, spit by the Breloom, hit him in the chest, sending Dante flying into a pile of crates next to Rayne. Dante rapidly grabbed his sword and attempted to get up, only to be met with a sword pointed at his throat.
"Checkmate..." the man chuckled as the Breloom stood next to him. "You see laddie, you always got to have a trick up your sleeve."
Dante grinded his teeth, thinking away out of this siduation, and away from the crazed man, when suddenly, he saw a red glind out of the corner of his eye.
"Heh, thanks for the tips, mate, but you be right where I want you." dante chuckled, before yelling, "Now Dusk! Shadow Ball on Breloom! Rayne, Aqua Tail!"
Dusk, Dante's Duskull, appeared behind the man and the Breloom, charging up a powerful Shadow Ball attack. The Breloom turned to counter, only to be hit from behind, by Rayne. The Breloom stumbled forwards, right into the path of the Shadow Ball. The powerful ball of dark energy hit the Breloom in the stomach, causing it to tumble into the ocean. The man had a shocked expression on his face as he watched the Breloom surface for air. Seeing his chance, Dante jumped up and placed his sword around the man's neck.
"Thanks for the tips old man..." Dante grinned, before releasing giving the man a mighty kick, sending him splashing into the murky depths. "But, I have it covered..."
With that, Dante left, boarding the ship with Dusk and Rayne close behind. Once on, he took a 'captains pose' at the stern, with his Duskull and Croconaw beside him. He closed his eyes, letting the cool ocean breeze kiss his face and letting the sound of the crew working ease his mind. However, the sound of the crew soon ceased. Dante turned, and was met with the shocked expression of some of the crew.
"What you swabbies be gawking at? Get to work! We set sail at dawn to the Sapphire Sea!"
