Pokemon: Black Infection [IC]

Scott

Scott waved back to Naren and Elizabeth as he walked, the unconcious Celes in one arm, Cadas in the other, and Cobalt following at his heels. He smirked and walked into the small town. He returned his pokemon and went into the pokemon center to get them healed. Hm... Now where was the gym?

Teal

Teal scaled the wall as quickly as he could. He was a lot slower at it than Quickpaw was. The Purrloin had lived up to her name and was already at the window. Using her claws, she quickly sliced a hole in it. The glass fell out and Teal reached his hand out and caught it.

"If that had hit the ground we'd have been heard!" he hissed at her, but she had already slipped inside. With a grumble, Teal stuck the piece of glass in his mouth and resumed climbing. He reached the top and found Quickpaw had opened the window. That was considerate of her. He took the glass out of his mouth and passed it in to her, ignoring the blood on it from where he had sliced the side of his mouth. He slipped inside and closed the window back. Quickpaw was sitting next to the door. He smiled. Cats had many advantages over him, but one that he had over them were thumbs. Teal opened the door and Quickpaw slipped out. A moment later he heard her meow. It wasn't a danger meow or a threat meow. It was a signal. The coast was clear. Teal went out the door and down the hall. He stopped at another door. He glanced in the window and saw all kinds of shiny machinery.

"Ouch! What did you bite me for?" Teal asked as he bent down and rubbed his ankle.

"We have to find Bandit! You can gawk over the shiny things later!" Quickpaw scolded. Teal hissed at her, and she hissed back. The two of them began staring each other down. This one Teal won, but he had to admit she was right. They set off down the hallway again.

Elizabeth seemed to gawk at Naren's injury. She wasn't used to those, at all. She mouthed some sort of gibberish out as she stared for a moment or two before responding. Her tone seemed very anxious when she finally spoke up.

"U-um... Miss Naren, shouldn't you get that looked at..?"

Another thing in her tone was fear. The thing about a younger child like Elizabeth was that when she saw an older person like Naren get hurt it /scared/ her. After all, to her Naren was a rock. That is to say, she was bigger than Elizabeth so obviously she was tougher and more resilient, right? Given, Naren probably was. Elizabeth was a frail, weak person physically even for her age. The point was though that to Elizabeth if Naren was suffering in some way she basically didn't understand how she could hope to do avoid a similar fate.

Meanwhile Cubone stumbled back over to the group, coughing up a small puff of smoke in an almost comical manner if one ignored how sickly the cough sounded. She needed healing. Meowth chimed in to answer Elisha's question.

Meowth: "Hopefully to get dry and warm, if ya' ask me!"

Apparently neither of them liked water that much.

Naren blinked. She didn't quite understand why Elizabeth was so uncertain and scared. Injuries were a part of life. If you didn't get hurt, you would be badly prepared for when you did. She wasn't herself all that tough though... Naren casually pulled out a tissue to wipe the blood off. It wasn't as bad as she had feared... Thank Celebi for that. Naren smiled wearily at Elizabeth. "Course," she said lightly, or forcibly cheery. "we all gotta go back and get looked at." she gestured to their Pokemon. "Ev'rybody's tired and all. We gotta heal 'em before ya meet Bugsy."

"Yeah," Elisha chimed in. "Let's get warm and dry! Come on Elizabeth!" she pleaded. "Naren's okay see?" She didn't quite get it. If her human said she was, then she was. To Elisha, it was just that simple. The Quilava would still worry, but... this wasthe beginning of the adventure! You can't panic now!

"Cerulean City.. why here of all places?" Celestine muttered to herself as both she and Plume where watching over the river separating the city from the mountains. "Cause it's a safe place for us to set up a scheme. That's why." Plume responded with a hint of lightheartedness.
Celestine glanced down at her Smeargle and sighed. "I hate it when you're right, you know that?" "Get used to it, Cel." The half-ape half-dog Pokemon replied.

Once you arrive in Cerulean City, I want you to find out everything you can about its guarding and the Gym leader. It is vitally important that Leader Rei is eliminated as soon as possible.

If you can provide me with enough information so Cipher can dispose of Cerulean's Gym, consider half of your debt paid.

-G

Reading the word Cipher made her scratch the armbands she had hidden beneath her shirt. It was an uneasy feeling, being part of the most notorious criminal organization yet be able to walk around freely inside cities, but if that was needed to be completely free again, Celestine had no problems with following orders.

"Hey you!" came a voice from behind her. As the two turned around, a young boy stood on the top of the dam both Celestine and Plume had descended halfway. The kid grinned widely. "Nice Smeargle, but I bet it's not as strong as my Pokemon." Celestine looked at her partner and the two exchanged a smile. "Bet accepted, bring it on." she replied as the two walked back up the dam.

"Cool, one v one. Let's go, Raticate!" As the Pokeball landed, the large stream of white plasma shaped itself into a large, brown Raticate. "Rat! Bring it on!" The rat Pokemon yapped towards Plume. She didn't respond to the taunt and looked at the Raticate intently.
"What do you say we finish this quickly, Plume?" Celestine offered. "Sounds good to me, I'm getting hungry." Plume responded quietly, causing her Trainer to chuckle.

"Raticate! Hyper Fang!" The young trainer yelled out as his Pokemon charged forward. Celestine laughed as Plume simply stepped out of the way of the Raticate and punched the large rat to the ground. "Plume, sketch Hyper Fang and show this kid some real power" The Smeargle's tail swirled around in a wave motion until it was glowing white in power and struck the Raticate in the back of the neck and skull, drawing blood.
"No! Raticate!" The boy yelled out as his Pokemon collapsed on the floor, nearly instantly knocked out by the well-placed blow.

Celestine snorted as Plume hopped back to it's Trainer's side. "Pathetic. Next time you challenge someone, kid, be sure you're actually a match for them."
She turned away from the kid who'd started to cry near the body of his bleeding Pokemon and walked towards the Pokemon Center.

She'd have to continue her intelligence gathering later, first it was chow time!

Scott

Scott exited the pokemon center. Celes walked proudly beside him. His other three pokemon were in their pokeballs. Hm... What was he going to do now? Oh, right, the gym. He had to find his way to the gym. Where was it? Bah! He walked around trying to find it. Hm... He needed help. Hm... He saw a girl walked around with a bug catching net. He ran over to her.

"Hey, lady, do you know-" Scott began.

"Excuse me?!" the girl said angrily. Scott cocked his eyebrow, wondering what he had done wrong.

Teal

Teal opened the door. This room was supposed to have a lot of pokemon. There was only one pokeball on the table. Quickpaw leapt up and sniffed it.

"Bandit's scent is all over this!" she said happily. Teal picked it up and began banging it on the table. Quickpaw clawed him and he stopped.

"Why'd you do that?" he meowed at her.

"You don't want to break it! It might hurt Bandit!" Quickpaw said. Teal and Quickpaw began staring at the tiny sphere in Teal's hand, wondering how to make it work.

To Elizabeth, Naren's injuries seemed a lot more severe than they might to Naren herself. Elizabeth seemed content with this answer, though, and glanced around. She had already lost track of where exactly they were. Thus, she found herself moving closer to Naren to show her willingness to follow. At this rate, Naren would never see the end of the younger girl's company. Heh.

"Okay..."

She still seemed pretty concerned, though what Elisha was saying passed miles above her head. Perhaps if she was older and had been around her a whole lot longer she would've had a better idea of what was going on there, but as it stood she was oblivious to what the quilava was saying. She did however seem to notice that Elisha had evolved when she glanced briefly at the cries of the pokemon. It was very easy for her to get tunnel visioned during a battle. Suddenly, she was distracted from her concern and spoke up in a slightly more cheery voice.

"Hey..! Elisha got evolved!"

Naren smiled and patted her Quilava's head. "Yep, she be a Quilava. Though 'er eyes are green, which is kinda funny." Elisha squealed and pawed her trainer's pants before running to Elizabeth and rising onto her hind legs to be pet. Naren giggled a bit. "Silly little critter. You get lo's of love." She loved her Pokemon. Naren inwardly was grateful that the younger girl was distracted. She was fussed over a lot as it was.

"C'mon," Naren said suddenly. "We should head back t' town. Ever'body needs a chill pill right now."

Elisha squealed at her partner and ran in a circle before nudging at Eliabeth's hand. Her human could be so silly. Naren rubbed the egg as she watched, pondering the odd triangles on it."Wonder what this is..."

"Ya'll okay Elizabeth," she asked softly, as though not trying to spook her friend.

Elizabeth stopped a moment to wonder why Elisha having green eyes was funny. Were they not always green? She hadn't really been paying attention to that detail. Elisha ran over to and rose up near Elizabeth, which seemed to startle her slightly. Yet, after a moment she leaned over and pet the quilava on the head lightly. This was of course assuming that Elisha was around as tall as most quilava were when standing upright, around three feet. That would make her only about a foot or even slightly less shorter than Elizabeth herself, who only reached 3'11'' (1.19 meters)

Elizabeth of coursed seemed to enjoy how friendly Elisha was. Meowth was okay and all, but he wasn't a very touchy feely kinda guy. Cats, go figure. So independent. Of course, then Naren recommended they hurry back to town. Elizabeth wouldn't dare disagree, seeing as Naren was hurt. Not that she had any objections.

"Okay..!"

Though she was promptly distracted by Elisha, and resumed petting her fondly. Her gaze did however briefly wander to the egg. She was curious. When asked a question, she spoke up in a tone that wasn't exactly sure of herself, her expression seeming to be in thought.

"I'm fine..."

Scott

Celes was giggling in Scott's arm as he was being yelled at by the girl, err, boy. Scott was shaking his head.

"Now, really! What kind of person makes that kind of mistake?" Bugsy said angrily. Celes was laughing hard now. Scott had made that mistake twice. Still, he was blinking in confusion.

"Alright! I'm sorry. So, do you know where the gym is?" Scott asked the man quietly. He gave Scott an odd look.

"I'm Bugsy, the gym leader. But why should I battle you?" Bugsy said angrily. Scott merely blinked confusedly. What? This was the gym leader? Wow... That was a surprise.

"Um... Ok, so you're Bugsy, the gym leader. It's not like I knew that. I'm not even from around hear! I'm from Orre! But, weren't you gym leaders supposed to take on any challengers?" Scott said. Bugsy sighed, then grinned wickdly.

"Oh sure, I'll take you on! Come with me," Bugsy said wickdly. Scott cocked his eyebrows at him and followed him to the gym, wondering what the gym leader had in store for him.

Teal

"Hey! What's this button do?!" Teal meowed excitedly to Quickpaw. Before she could advicate caution he had pressed the white button in the middle of the pokeball. Both of them jumped back as the sphere grew in size. Teal picked up the pokeball. Now it was bigger than his hand. The door was then kicked open and a bald man walked in. He was taller than Teal, though most humans were. He was wearing a red uniform, and something sparkly on his head. Teal was distracked by it.

"What the hell are you doing here?" the man shouted at Teal. Teal looked at Quickpaw, who was now standing in front of him.

"I want that shiny thing on his head! Can I have it Quickpaw?!" Teal said with an urgent note in his voice. The man creased his brow and Quickpaw laughed happily.

"What the heck are you saying? Oddish! Sentret! Go!" the man said. He sent out his two pokemon.

"Oh no. I'm good, but I can't beat two pokemon by myself!" Quickpaw meowed urgently. Teal grinned.

"I know! Bandit will help you! And I'll steal the shiny thing! Don't worry! I've seen this on TV!" Teal said happily. Before Quickpaw could point out that Bandit was locked in that ball, Teal hurled it. It hit the ground next to Quickpaw. She meowed in surprise when Bandit appeared with a red flash. The Skitty meowed happily and jumped on Quickpaw. That was Bandit alright.

"Quickpaw! Teal! I'm so glad you came!" Bandit said happily.

"Bandit! Quickpaw! Take them out!" Teal said with a wild gesture. Bandit and Quickpaw were more than happy to do just that.

Elisha let out a happy cry and ran around Elizabeth as they walked again. Then she bounded ahead. "It jus' me or did ya get faster?" Naren mumbled to her Pokemon. Elisha looked back to smile obliviously at Naren. What was that girl talking about? She was as fast as she- okay, maybe she was a little faster. Or maybe humans were just slow. Who knew. She circled the group again, returning to being pet.

"Quilava eyes 'r usually red," Naren said after a moment. "s rare they're green." ELisha chirped. It made her special. They reached Azalea again and Naren quickly led them into the POkemon Center, temporarily returned her QUilava. The nurse let out a sigh.

"Naren," she chided. "You of all people got into a fight?"

"'Was Cipher," Naren mumbled bashfully as the woman went to the other side of the counter. An aide took Naren's Pokemon and offered to take Elizabeth's as well. WIthin a few minutes, Naren's nose was bandaged.

Elizabeth seemed to get somewhat nervous whenever Elisha passed in front of her as if she were slightly afraid of accidentally kicking or stepping on the pokemon. Regardless, she looked up at Elizabeth again and smiled lightly as if to tell her something. Though, what exactly that was supposed to mean was probably not clear to someone that had just met her. When they got to the pokemon center Elizabeth stood quietly nearby, glancing at people nearby as if she expected one of them to do something disturbing at any moment. She clearly wasn't as comfortable near others, but it was unavoidable. She simply couldn't avoid society! ...Even if it was kind of terrifying at times. She did seem to relax a bit when Naren got her nose bandaged, if one paid attention. She sure seemed to grow attached fast. Who could blame her though? She kind of needed a friend, a guardian, /anyone/, that is to say a human. A pokemon could protect her and provide company, but without true communication she could never relate to them, nor could they teach her new things in most cases.

Scott

Bugsy led Scott to his gym. Celes padded along silently behind them both. Bugsy motioned for Scott to take his place on the battlefield.

"This will be a three on three pokemon battle. As the challenger, you get to switch out your pokemon at any time. Now, Scyther! Let's take him down!" Bugsy said calmly. Scott cocked his eyebrow and checked the pokemon's level. He paled then. Bugsy wasn't messing around. This Sycther was way stronger than any of Scott's pokemon. Scott scowled.

"Caelara! Use Shock Wave!" Scott said. He sent out the Luxio, who snarled at Scyther. Scyther took off into the air as Caelara blasted a powerful Shock Wave at it. He took the hit and kept right on going. This battle was going to be hard. Scyther flew down and sliced Caelara with Fury Cutter.

"Lux!" she shouted painfully as she went rolling across the dirt. Scott needed to think of something quick.

"Caelara. Use Charge! We need more power!" Scott said quietly. Caelara growled and began charging, sparks flying from her body as she growled menacingly at Scyther.

Teal

"Teal! What are you doing! Get back over here! Bandit needs someone to tell him what to do because he's an idiot!" Quickpaw said boredly as she dodged the Brick Break the Sentret had aimed at her. Bandit was rammed by the Oddish and went rolling across the ground. He meowed cutely, though his voice was pained, and the Oddish stopped. She had become infatuated. Teal dropped from the ceiling behind the Team Snagem grunt and snatched the shiny thing off of his head, He growled angrily and smacked Teal in the face. Teal meowed sadly as he jumped back. Then he hissed and leapt at the man, Clawing and biting, knocking him to the ground.
