Has anyone tried using the Poke Bank to transfer Pokemon from Red/blue/yellow to Pokemon X/y? There's a good deal in the e-store right now but I feel the games are only worth it if I can transport my Pokemon from said game to my X save file. Any thoughts on this topic would be greatly appreciated. :)

I believe they only added for it to work when Sun/Moon comes out, and there is no way to transfer R/B/Y Pokemon to X/Y as far as I know.
So to answer your question, no, there isn't a way. It would be cool though. :)

IMO, they're still worth buying, especially if you're going to get Sun or Moon, since it has been confirmed that R/B/Y Pokemon will be transferable to S/M.

I mean, they seem like a lot of fun but graphics mean a lot to me and I don't want to kill the romance I have as a new-ish fan of the modern games. I'll still play them eventually, but I'll probably wait until after Sun/Moon. I also plan to get ORAS eventually (next pay check, depending) so I just might put it back to the bottom of the list of games I wanna play until the transporter becomes compatible with R/B/Y.

Perhaps if we are able to send Pokemon from Sun and Moon to XY, then I assume it could all be possible (by first transferring over to Sun/Moon, of course).

I dont' really see the point, personally. If they had egg moves that could only be learned/taught in those games and then bred onto current (sun and moon) pokemon, then I would understand, but any moves (and the only one anyone seems to know for sure is Snorlax with Self Destruct, which is available now anyway) that can be taught in these games can't be passed onto pokemon in curren (again, Sun and moon) games. And further to that, since gen 1 didn't have genders, natures or abilities, those would all likely be randomly assigned when passed onto the Sun and Moon games, so if you're thinking about getting them to use for future games, I don't really see any point. If you're getting them to play the games themselves, then you should go for it.

As Alex said, Pokemon from the 1st Gen VC games will be transferable to Sun/Moon via Pokemon Bank, but can't be sent to 6th Gen games. Also, Pokemon caught in Sun/Moon can't be sent back to 6th Gen either.
