well with what i can see with good eyesight, there are 3 types of shaking. first, the normal shake, second, the bush may go a bit greener with something like a circle on top, and third, the bits of yellow bush. i mentioned this before in the thread. hope this helps. ;)

Well I gotta say that the first two are pretty much the same thing...
I've caught many shinies chaining and I've never had problems with types of grass.

Where are you getting your numbers from? Because last time I checked, they're determined by this formula, which gives 1 in ~4472 at 17, and 1 in ~3947 for a chain of 20.

There are only three (possibly four if there are two kinds of shiny patches) varieties of grass shakes: the plain shake, the shake with flashes, and the shiny patch. These patches may seem to look different sometimes, but this is only caused by aliasing.

Yeah so did I, but I didn't have a calculator so I had to approximate it in my head.
 
I really wish you people would stop trying to say that it's impossible to find a lot of shinies in one chain... I know from experience that the higher your chain is, the more likely you'll be to find a Shiny. I own 8 Shiny Slakoth's and 6 Shiny Starly's, both of those chains were over 100. It's entirely possible for him to have gotten 7 Shiny Ponyta, even times when I was in the 40's chaining I had managed to get 3 shinies before hitting 50.
 
I'm not arguing with you ShadowTails. I got 8 shiny Geodudes in a single chain once and I ended up with a chain of 47 before it broke. That was like the only chain I ever did.

EDIT: The first shiny Geodude I got in that chain appeared at a chain of 7! That's really lucky :)

my chain always broke at say, 5 or 6. never got a shiny at all :\

That is really lucky if you can get a shiny so early. ;)

Then you must be doing somethin wrong, I suggest watching the video in the first post.

The earliest shiny I've got was Lickitung at 8, I mean if you chain enough, it's just bound to happen at some point.
 
well you people are getting lucky getting shinys in your early chains....i havn't had ANY luck getting them so early....dang
 
My two luckiest were a Shiny Sentret at 0... and a Beautifly at 3 oddly >.> I wasn't even really thinking I'd get a shiny but gosh... Beautifly was a freaking annoyance to catch... it broke out so many times and I wasted too many Pokeballs... I got it after waisting a total of over 50 balls on the thing...

Well i didnt do any chaining yesterday since it was HALLOWEENLast time i caught something was like a week ago i think....

My shinies were freak coincidences! Kriketune(it sucks!) and Tentacruel(which has an awesome nature and IVs above 20 in all stats)

I only caught a shiny brave Plusle in my emerald.
 
I'm chaining Ponyta's and so far i have 0 shinies... >_<
