    Pokémon Charmander


    Introduction
    This is my first try to make a hack. It will be a hack of Pokémon yellow but pikachu will be replaced with Charmander.
    Story
    The story will be the same as yellow but with charmander instead.

    you need an intro, storyline, features, section for screens, and a lot more info!

    also this is a bad idea, the only thing you are editing is the sprite of the game!!!!

    well she is a starter so give her a chance at hacking and this is her only post but you do need to include those up there what he said other wise it will get locked

    1. Many have researched in vain trying to figure out a way for Pokemon to follow the player, and so far no logical solution has come up.
    2. You need more to the story
    3. The story sucks, and is completely unoriginal
    4. You need a better name
    5. You are being lazy when it comes to mapping
     
    i just updated the post so it has all of those things in it

    to have a different pokemon follow you cant you just replace the sprite of pikachu with a different sprite

    anyway just try to make it a bit more original okay?
     
    i probobly will try and make a more original game but i just want to try to do something simple for my first attempt at a mod

    Sorry i knew i probobly shoulldnt but i was looking at it and so i just wrote down the parts i needed

    Also i will be starting this as soon as i get some good hacking tools so if you know where i can get some please tell me
     
    That's basically a modifcation of FireRed. I mean, in FireRed you already can choose if you want to have Charmander as your starter or pick the other two. Pikachu is already catchable in the original so basically all you've added is that you can catch the starters later in the game.

    it is going to be yellow but charmander will follow you and you cannot catch a pikachu in pokemon yellow and you have to choose charmander and gary will have eevee
     
    Yes, it's a hack of Yellow but you've barely changed anything. The "hacking" your about to do is simple modifications, the most compliacted script being the Starter Pokemon one. One of the main points of Yellow that made the game so popular is the fact that you can start with Pikachu, easily the face of the Pokemon franchaise. Yellow hacks already lack originality as it is and you've taken away one of the key components that made the original so succesful. In the Kanto games you can already choose Charmander and there's a 33% chance a player that plays FireRed will choose Charmander, so that's just making the user definetly having Charmander. Pikachu is already catachable in Viridian Forest so you havne't changed anything there either. In the end if you look at it, the only thing you've really changed is that you've given the player a chance to catch Squirtle and Bulbasaur in the wild

    it cant be done without a cheat device
    and the will get the other starters and pikachu in events
     
    But your hacking a FireRed rom, a game where you can catch Pikachu in Viridian forest. You can't just rely on one or two extra events as a hack, Nintendo can sue you for claiming all the rest of the work is yours when people in their company really did it.
