Skye finished her tea and went to the photography shop next door to pick up her prints. Keiko, her long time friend, had just finished developing them. Skye looked over her prints happily, smiling at what she had managed to capture.
"Keiko, they're perfect as always!" she smiled at the older woman behind the counter. "You always do such a great job."
"Ah, but the talent lies in the photographer!" Keiko laughed, patting her shoulder. "Now you go and turn those in to Mr. Yusaki, and tell me all about how impressed he is the next time you come in, which I hope is soon!"
"Oh, it will be!" Skye smiled, placing the folder of prints into her shoulder bag. She paid Keiko and said her farewell, walking out onto the busy sidewalk.
The newspaper building was a tall skyscraper, and Skye took the stairs to the top floow, a promise she had made herself since she had been out on her own. Panting, she reached the top floor, and caught her breath after a cup of water. With a bright smile, she entered her boss' office, and handed him the folder.
"Yes...yes...these shots are typically good," he mumbled, and then he turned his gaze sharply on her. "But is that all that's going on in the city these days? It won't sell papers!"
"Sorry, Mr. Yusaki...I've been trying, but it's been hard with crime being down these days!" Skye said, feeling a little hurt.
"Well, I need to see better stories by next week!" Mr. Yusaki told her sternly.
Skye merely nodded, and stepped out of the office. She collected her paycheck, and started her long trek home.
Her apartment was a simple, three room place. The door opened into a kitchen/living room, and two doors on the right wall led to her bedroom and bathroom. She set her bag down, and heated up some rice and steak left over from the previous night, and ate it quickly.
With determination in her heart, she was quickly walking along the streets again, camera at the ready. She called out her Pidgeotto, Kaze, and attatcked a smaller camera around his neck. Next, she called out Fury, and hopped onto his back. The three of them made their usual aerial rounds of the city, Skye snapping shots left and right, trying to find something that would please her boss.
At one point, she passed over a pizza parlor, and spied a young man in sunglasses. She wondered momentarily about him, and took a quick picture. Onwards she flew, until it was very late. She then retired to her apartment, exhausted, and fell asleep almost instantly.
