FireRed hack: Pokemon Colosseum [GBA Remake]

I am doing this hack, I've already inserted some tiles. I'm not one of those people who gives up after 4 days, if anything I'm going to give up because it's impossible to finish. I know what I'm doing, I'm not a 12 year old who thinks they rule the internet.

That's pretty cool. But we're not talking about 4 days, we talk about years.

Well, no-one said that. I was giving advice, as trust me, this will be the hardest thing you will possibly do, and also takes AGES. And you haven't got as much help as the other remake has, so...

I really wish you all the best, but I really think that you should start small, then do this.

That's right. I would take very seriously Deviation, because he has experienced what a true Colosseum remake is.

Think of this as Team Crystal's long term project. I'm quite aware it won't happen in 4 days, I'm just saying that's about when most people quit. We're thinking about teaming up with another team for a good short term hack.

It's not that simple! DARKSHADE was leading a team of very talented hackers (Such as Deviation and myself XD), and he still FAILED.

... You really are this dedicated... As was DARKSHADE, and even with a good team (including 0m3GA ARSENAL, whose ASM would have helped immensely), and it still hasn't been released (after a year!), and has many bugs and the like. This idea, no matter how great, has many flaws, and things that can go wrong, and also are impossible. Tell us, how are you doing:

The snagging,
Mt. Battle
The Colloseums
The start cutscene
The girl following you (this isn't urgent, but if you wanted it, it is worth a mention)
The biking from place to place
All the shadow pokemon without replacing any Pokemon

The snagging will be a script that allows you to catch pokemon of a specified type.

The Coliseums will be similar to the elite four.

The start cutscene is one of my last priorities. Hopefully by the time we start working on it we will have more knowledge the beginning cutscenes.

The girl following seems like an easy script to make, however I may be proven wrong.

When you exit a city or place it will act like if your flying someplace. (Or I may incorporate routes.)

The shadow pokemon will replace shiny pokemon. (this will allow me to add as many shadow pokemon as I need)

1. ASM is needed, or a way around.
2. Simple enough
3. Again, this can be made simply (in theory, lots of movements and warp scripts, but seems simple in theory), but worh asking as it then sees if you have the knowledge
4. No, this is where you have proved that you don't know too much scripting, or at least haven't tried it out, but in theory it looks simple, but hard in practical. Everyone has tried, and failed (to an extent, or to find a simple way) to get a "Follow" script for EVERY map that is simple, it requires a long tedious progress of tile scripts.
5. Good answer, works in theory, but ASM may be needed. Or maybe a multiple choice Warp script? But then how would you do the options... Simple, Flag Scripts.
6. Interesting, but that can go wrong oh so easily, as to do that, you need to do a pallette thingy... It is hard to explain, but the pallettes need to be exactly right for the shny to look good without screwing the normal, but I cannot explain it.

I admire his will too, and this isn't to put him off, but to prepare him for the problems that the others met when they were creating it. And also some friendly advice, so it won't be a battlefield unless he wants it to be, as I am just giving some... Well, past experience advice.

And with that, I'll see if I can make a youtube video of some of the custom stuff I've done by tonight.

great man just great really glad your getting stuck in, heres some shadow pokemon ive made: [PokeCommunity.com] Pokemon Colosseum [GBA Remake]

i can make more and it wont take to long i know its too big just using it as an example because i like it and just its a basic re-colour??

While I'm slowly progressing, I can already tell that I'm going to need some people to help if we want it done ever.

My plan of action:

-Find out why my team hasn't been approved in nearly a week
-Get some talented and/or potential hackers.
-Make a playable demo and then scrap what we have and start over in a more formal manner by organizing and planning

ETA: 2 Months

I don't know if you have the shadows worked out, if not then why don't you edit the original pokemon so it is a shadow pokemon, then once it reaches a certain level have it evolve into a normal pokemon.

Just a suggestion.

Putting Pokemon Colosseum onto a GBA ROM will be a very hard task that you just don't seem ready for. As Deviation said, there are a ton of challenges you will have to face and overcome, if you wish to recreate it on a ROM.
I am quite unaware of the challenge, but I believe I have the ability to succeed, and that is all I need.
