EDIT:This thread is only about cries from the games
This is the Pokemon Cry Discussion Thread. So get posting what you think of the cry of a pokemon.Say what you think it sounds like and other stuff abbout it.
I liked the cries all the way up until the 3rd gen (I believe that goes with anything else that's pokemon related). There was one group of cries in the third gen that sounded really cool, but then another group that sounded like, crap. The 4th gen killed it though, hardley any thought put into most of the cries, not all, but most. The chunk that doesn't sound good seriously sound like nothing more than squiggles here and there.
Do you realize how WRONG that is? Since when should the anime influence the games? Aside from Yellow, never. THE GAMES INFLUENCE THE ANIME, because the GAMES came FIRST and the ANIME came SECOND.
Plus, the anime is mostly to blame for Pokemon's "kiddy" look. Imagine all the metagame players battling w/ creatures that say only their own names. IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!
Actually, I rather liked the 3rd & 4th Gen cries. Have you ever listened to the cries of the 1st Gen Pokemon? It sounds like they spent $2.00 on them. Like MIDI with a sore throat.
In the 3rd and 4th (and somewhat 2nd) they actually sound like the "animal" they're based on. Example, listen to Infernapes cry; Sounds a little like a monkey, doesn't it? =D
Frolass sounds kind of Mystic, like a ghost, Gallade sort of sounds like It's pulling out a sword, Porygon Z sort of sounds like a beaker getting knocked over. (remember PorygonZ's entry on Pokedex!)
