    Introduction___________________________________________________________
    Hey there, for a while now I've been here, and I've decided to try to make a hack. Despite my lengthy stay here so far, my only ever attempts to make my own hack have been a very brief and short-lived hack known as Pokemon Fusion, which I gave up on very quickly. So, now, many a year later I'm having another go, so, come and see my new hack, Pokemon Crystal.

    Hack Name___________________________________________________________
    Pokemon Crystal

    Hack Of___________________________________________________________
    Pokemon Gold, I chose this game because it's far more accesible tool-wise and can allow me plenty of space to breathe.

    Hack Story___________________________________________________________
    The old clichéd defeat all the gyms, finish the Pokédex, become the master story, the exact same story as Crystal. The reason being that, with Platinum offering so much brand new content, I felt that Gold and Silver deserve, a proper third game, that lives up to the new standards.

    Hack Features___________________________________________________________
    *Plenty of extra content, expect Celebi, the PCC, and much more.
    *More Maps, including beta areas from the originals.
    *An extra Johto Gym (maybe)
    *A new set of Gym layouts (the leaders will be the same)
    *An Elite 4 overhaul
    *New ways to get old Pokemon, think fossils and events
    *Ninjas
    *Be prepared to battle new trainers and old characters
    *Spiffy new outfits for the main characters
    *New Room Decorations
    *And Some More Too...

    Yeah, well, are they really necessary to make a good hack? I'm not being sarcastic I'm really asking.

    I think I'll be able to a fairly good job with new features and stuff though. What do you think of my new features?

    Oh yeah, and does anyone think I should switch to Crystal as my ROM Base?

    ugh you should switch to crystal, if you can. if you cant find programs to work with it, no worries. I only have programs for gold and silver myself. I like the idea. I'll watch out for this.
     
    Switching to Crystal would be nice, I just can't find any good tools, there are some but, frankly, they aren't that good, like I said, Gold gives me accessibility and space to breathe. So, can anyone give feedback on the actual ideas, is there anything that wouldn't really do much or not work for you?

    As you can see from my banner I have redesigned the main characters, what do think of them as well?
     
    At first, I didn't notice any difference because it has been so long since I even saw a main character sprite from Crystal (well, maybe not THAT long, but at least two years agO).
     
    I hope you stick with this, and it turns out nice.
    Because I hated Crystal...For some odd reason I liked Gold the best, and Crystal to me was worse, IDK why but it was.

    So I think this version will be good.

    Well, if it's a remake of crystal it shouldn't be a different main legendary. Just implement new ways to get the other dogs besides just out in the wild. i always hated that, how you had to look randomly for them and look on area on your pokedex once you saw them once and ugh
     
    Yeah, okay, hey does anyone know of a good Crystal map editor? I've been checking out CrystalMap but it doesn't seem to work very well, and Gold Map doesn't do it so...

    Anyway thanks everyone for the feedback and I hope to have some screenshots out to you soon.

    i haven't tried to hack crystal before, only gold, so sry couldn't tell you. I wanna see those screenies once you put them up lol. Um and just make a cave or smth unusual in the game to do that. Like Moltres at Mount Ember in Fire Red. Do smth like that and have Entei on the top or smth.
     
    Entei will be in a cave under Mahogany Town, and Raikou is going to be involved in a plot with the Radio Tower in Lavender Town.

    Also, here is some comparisons with my new character sprites.

    lol ur ideas of where they are are good/better than mine lol. I always wanted more to be added to the radio tower there, but just a police officer blocking a door that leads nowhere...
     
    Yeah, well he's gone now, you go up there and well, I don't want to spoil it, but watch out for Team Rocket *wink*. Oh yeah, when I was young I used to spend hours searching for Giovanni hiding out somewhere in Johto, my friend told me he was there, so should I add him to my hack?
     
    idk just put raikou where nobody would expect it. like put a door somewhere where ppl wouldn't notice it or blend it in somehow, that leads to where raikou is or smth. whatever works good and is legit,really...
     
    Nah, I have an idea for a plot, Entei will have one too, I need to develop that though. Are there any other (doable) features that you guys would like? I might put another train in, if I can, it will be between Ecruteak and the new, restored Safari Zone.
