I mean mainly some story :)

    Ah, my apologies.

The story, as of 6/16/09, is that you're going around and winning the badges to compete in the Dariath Conference. Only, three badges in, the character's mom gets killed in a scrap with some newbs from Team Anorith when they try to rob her. From there, it's a Roaring Rampage of Revenge against Anorith Admin Sparky - only he's not the one in charge of the rogues that killed ma. Two more gyms, and then you get another lead on an Anorith Admin, Rocky. Not much of a surprise that he's not the guy in charge of them, either. So, after giving Rocky a sound thrashing, he offers you a position as an Anorith Admin, not unlike the guy from Nugget Bridge.

*Inhale* The last three badges can be done in any order, but when you try to go to Victory Road, you find that you do, in fact, need all the HMs to get through the route before there, including one that was stolen from the home town. Turns out that mama was holding it for a friend, and that the idiots that killed her were supposed to just get in and take the HM (Yet to be decided, I need one that's not flash AND isn't learned naturally by a 'mon). So, once again, you go off and thrash an Anorith Admin, Sandy. Turns out that Sandy had been acting in the place of the Founder, who had been missing ever since that man from Kanto challenged her. That was three years ago. In addition to that, Sandy had turned over the killers - but not the HM - to the authorities once the news of the death got out.

So, satisfied with this, and in posession of the lost HM, our hero sets off to challenge the Champion, Himeko. But, that's only part of the story. Becuase, once the title of Champion passes from Himeko to our hero, some foreigners decide that it's time to challenge "the strongest trainer in Dariath." They include Jasmine, Lance, someone who had sent most of the Gym Leaders to Dariath to begin with, the former champion's boyfriend, and the former champion's younger sister.

We're still not done, because Yumeko (Himeko's younger sister) mentions something about Interpol coming and investigating a fugitive from Kanto who came to Dariath three years ago... our hero's interest piqued, and a distant memory from the battle with Sandy reawakened, we set out to join Interpol's Dariath branch. TO join, we have to start by "finding the Ekans in the Bracken", and ending with "Sharing the moonlight with one of infinite possibilities".

After that, we get a map from Sandy that shows a small Island, as well as a note saying "I found this map in HER old desk... please investigate." Taking a boat from Tropica, you sail north "until the sun sinks no further". On this frozen island, you confront Giovanni - as well as the Founder and first rival of the previous champion, one who founded Team Anorith for the sole reason of discovering Himeko's closest secret.

    Update on the level balancing:

Level balancing works a lot better when all the trainers are changed, and not just the Gym Leaders and Elite Four. (Level 30 party, perfect for besting Winona for the fifth badge, up against a Lv. 45 Ninetails and Lv. 47 Charizard for the fifth badge. That Wobbuffet saved me.)
